I was thinking about what will the Nintendo Wii U Controller run on. Batteries or charging it with a cable to the Wii U? The controller should take up lots of energy knowing that there is a 6.2 inch screen right in the middle of the controller and the controller is also wireless (also has a camera, a gyroscope and an accelerometer, etc). Which do you prefer, Batteries or Charger?

The Wii U Controller (working title) and (not final design).

The picture above me, looks like it shows one of those battery covers. I think it's going to support battery's. Which I would rather charge it instead though.

There is an AC port on the controller, meaning it will be charged. I'm 90% sure that the battery cover is only there because the (proprietary) rechargeable battery is replaceable - Nintendo isn't a fan of non-replaceable batteries, because they tend to wear out after approximately 300 recharges or so.

Yeah, I guess there's no point not to make it replacable. But still-a cord would be better-don't you agree, Mr. Boss Man?

A controller that needs to be plugged in at all times to be used is kinda silly in today's day and age. The controller was wireless at E3, and that's not gonna change. But I'm positive you'll be able to play and charge it at the same time, like you can with Xbox 360 controllers.

Edit: I attached a picture of the AC port, in case you wanna see it.

Yeah, except every single model of the DS has that from the original to the 3DS. I just wish that people would do their research first because that is obviously screwed in and the answer should be common knowledge for the simple reason that it would be rediculous not to use rechargeable batteries. A quick Google search also shows that you asked on another forums, so I don't understand why you asked here as well.

The thing I most liked about PS3 controllers was that they were rechargeable. How I hated to be all hyped up playing smash just for the batteries to die on the best part.
Can you find 'em all?

I prefer charging. The controller has a screen in it so it would probably use alot of batteries.

Charging is so much better, imagine how much money you would spend on batteries for that thing!

Interesting, I would prefer a charger considering the fact that thing most likely takes up a lot of power....

How rude. Also, the 3DS is NOT A DS! RAAAAAAGGGEEEEEE!

That's like saying that the Gameboy Advance isn't a Gameboy. And I don't try to be rude, but people are just so stupid its impossible not to be. You don't even have to be told that it is rechargeable, it's just commonsense that it won't be anything but rechargeable.

While the GBA is part of the gameboy line and Heritage in Name, it is it's own separate entity. The same applies with the DS-3DS

Games that refuse to use Gameplay effectively to do anything are like films that refuse to use cinematography in film to do anything.
