Tank! Tank! Tank! appears to be struggling with sales in Japan, since Namco Bandai has decided to release the game as a free-to-play title via the eShop. The free version doesn’t contain all of the maps or a campaign mode, but there’s multiple modes to play, including multiplayer, and the rest of the content can be purchased. And even though I’m not interested in the game itself, I am curious to see if this happens outside of Japan. I think it’s a good sign at least that it can happen. The developers do have quite a bit of freedom.
