How hard would it be for Nintendo to add this feature? Nintendo know themselves that allot of people hate using the wiimote, so why would they force it in there faces in a game that is so big?
It just feels strange to me.
PM me if you want to add me on 3ds

i've just bought mario and currently have the gamepad and pro controller. ive ordered a wiimote online so i can play with the wife. i thought the gamepad could be used as a 2 player mode though...turns out it's just in 'boost mode' and ya can't control 2 characters with gamepad/wiimote.
...so it meens me buying another wiimote now.. Grrr.

No disrespect but there are already several threads on this subject and its already been discussed. There wasn't really any need for another.
In answer to the question this is obviously the way Nintendo designed it to be played and I doubt they are going to change that. I do agree there should be pro controler support.

Basically what I wrote in there is that Nintendo wanted to keep it the same. The old Mario and this one control the same so no learning cruve for kids.
Adding in other controls would probably mess that up for them.
I am mad that you can't use the gamepad as on of the controllers when playing with out people but ahh I guess. It's not a big deal to me.
No on super smash bros. they better add and use ever single controller out there. Or the world would be mad.

Thanks for the replies. Saying there was already a thread on this means squat to me though. Its a forum..where you ask questions. Can I be bothered sifting through several Mario threads to find the answer I want? I can see your point ..but if you see a thread that's already been covered just laugh to yourself, knowing that you hold the answers..the answers are out there and im just too lazy to search.

Maybe you shouldn't be so lazy and actually do a search and not add to the clutter on the forums. Being too lazy to do a search is a poor excuse. You're right it is a forum and as such it does have a search function for this purpose.
