Hey there,
So I just bought Super Mario Bros 2 and 3 on the Wii. I just heard that I will be able to get a discount when they come to the Wii U, but how do I link them to my Wii U account? I bought them on my Wii U's Wii app system thing if that makes a difference... or how do I make it so atleast the games are registered to me since I didn't even need to log in or anything - just enter my card details and that was it.
cheers. (Sorry for the n00b question... never really played the Wii).

Its fine. I think the information might be hard to find for now since it was just announced.
Anyway. I think as long as the virtual consol game is stored on the Wii menu in the Wii U it should register as "you having the game". At least I think thats how its going to work. I think this info came from Nintendo Direct but I don't have the time to revisit it.

From what Nintendo said, if you did the Wii to Wii U transfer. All of the Virtual Console games you had would be at a discounted price. Now since you didn't have a Wii and just bought SMB 2/ SMB 3 off the Wii Mode, I'm not sure. But I'm going to guess that since you technically bought them on the Wii, you should get the discount for the Wii U versions when they come out.
