Wii U Blog: How Zelda will look on the Wii us is still not clear

Many sites, this one included reported that Zelda on the Wii U will look very similar to the Zelda HD demo that we saw out of E3 2011. That was the general vibe most outlets were getting and it seemed solid enough to me based on a quote from Miyamoto.

Eiji Aonuma has clarified though that Zelda on the Wii U, while it is on its way, is not necessarily going to be based on what we saw during that demo.

…it’s not necessarily the case that we would use that graphic style or depiction the same way we would in a new Zelda, when there is a new Zelda for the Wii U.

Just like the map functionality that was also implemented in that experience – it’s simply us giving an objective look at the kinds of things that can be done with the HD hardware.

Aonuma finishes by saying that “nothing is defined right now,” so it could be a while before we have any clue of what Zelda on the Wii U will look like.
