Miiverse has acted like a social network for the Wii U since it was implemented: anybody could add each other and the method of adding was relatively simple. Now Nintendo has created a barrier to protect younger gamers, specifically those who are under 12 years old. Those under this age limit are barred from adding other users on Miiverse, unless they enter each other’s Nintendo Network IDs in the friend list.
Nintendo has also added other changes including a five-minute posting limit on Miiverse communities, although you will still have the ability to comment on all existing posts. Finally, instead of sending notifications every time somebody comments on a post you have commented on, you’ll only be notified if the original poster comments.
So, do you guys think these changes will help protect the younger community? What would you like to see implemented with Miiverse?
