Iwata announced today via Nintendo direct that this will be the “Year of Luigi”. With many Luigi-themed games being released for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, it’s understandable why this term is used.
For the Wii U, we will get new New Super Mario Bros. U DLC, which will have gameplay featured exclusively for Luigi. This download will also feature whole new worlds and levels. Because it’s exclusively for Luigi, the download is actually only called, “New Super Luigi U.”
