#238592 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Posted by Nollog on 11 August 2013 - 02:52 PM

Of course I'm not going to say it? You're putting words in my mouth. Why would I agree to something I never said unless I was suffering from some mental disorder?

You take things too literal. You just argue for the sake of winning arguments sometimes. I'm not continuing this further because it's a frivolous argument. It's a MATTER of perspective. Even Kamiya himself wouldn't go to this length to defend his games, because he doesn't know that they aren't perfect. Your perspective of the game is simply different from when I played it. Kamiya knows that not everyone finds all his game as perfect; only the hardcore fanboys do.

The end, if you want to argue with someone meaninglessly for hours upon hours, I'm not that guy. Argue with Desert Punk. People are always going to find a flaw with a game, stop taking it so literal and personal. I'm not trying to prove anything nor am I trying to pursue anyone on here to side with me. It's a matter of PERSPECTIVE/OPINION. Not everyone is going to find everyone Wii U game as excellently as you do.

Same people with the same elitism as they had with monster hunter.

I'm sick of people on this forum going crazy whenever someone expresses a different opinion to their own. Just because people dislike this game doesn't mean they are bad at it and can't be bothered to learn how to play it right. 3Dude is constantly using that to defend games he loves whenever someone criticises it. And it's getting very old now.

This game isn't terrible, but it is by no means perfect. It is a pretty average game. Some people on here need to learn that just because you think something is fantastic doesn't mean everyone else has to as well.

You guys cling to every game that comes out as THE REASON to own the Wii U.

First it was zombiu, then monster hunter, then pikmin and now wonderful 101.

#237136 Zombi U $19.99 at Target

Posted by Mitch on 04 August 2013 - 09:41 PM

Wouldn't touch ZombiU with a fifteen foot pole. I bought it and it was complete trash. Sold it the next day.

So what youre saying is that you bought it.... played for 20 mins, dies and then raged and took it back to Gamestop for 1/3 the price you paid in in store credit, which you then used to buy Funky Barn :P

#236857 The Next Super Smash Bros. Won't Have a Story Mode or Cutscenes

Posted by Gaymer on 03 August 2013 - 10:47 AM

Oh, boo hoo. A fighting game doesn't have a story, so I'm not going to buy it or a Wii U. Nothing about Brawl's story mode was epic. It was a bunch of repetitive platforming and monster killing, with cutscenes slapped together. Nintendo should focus on the more important aspects, the gameplay and multiplayer options. This isn't a story-based game and never will be.

#235987 Pikmin 3, Does it do anything superior to ps360?

Posted by Goodtwin on 30 July 2013 - 11:44 AM

Next gen is pretty subjective, but when you look at it from the perspective that if the game is using next gen effects then it should probably be considered next gen, even if you dont personally think it looks that much better than the best looking previous gen games.  There are bound to be some X1 and PS4 games that dont exactly blow away games like God of War and Halo 4, but they will still be considered next gen.  You arent automatically getting next gen graphics just because the developer has more power to work with.  Naughty Dog recently said that great games and great graphics are far more dependent on the developers skill than the limitations of the hardware.  Nintendo has found this out the hard way.  They werent ready for the increased demand for resources to create great looking HD games.  If it was simply a matter of the hardware, then the team size wouldnt need to increase.

So far we are seeing more advanced shaders and potential use of tessellation in Pikmin 3.  So even if poly count, resolution, and AA are all very much current gen, its next gen in the sense that it is using features not possible on current gen consoles.

#224596 I think Bias is the reason for the Wii U's lack of third-party support

Posted by Colinx on 20 June 2013 - 10:51 AM

I disagree, they're not biased. EA, Activision ect. They all are hesitant due to lack of sales in the system. Nintendo hasn't convinced anyone to buy a Wii U in the past 8 months. It's the 1st parties job to garner up people. Once there is a larger user base(like EA said) then they will bring games. Plus, some types of games just don't sell well on Nintendo systems due to Nintendo's casual group that includes family and children. Not many hardcore gamers user Wii U as their main console, so are they going to buy Watch Dogs on PS4? Or Wii U? Obviously PS4.

#222665 Electronic Arts will resume full support for Wii U when it "becomes a viable

Posted by Desert Punk on 16 June 2013 - 09:05 AM

Wii u hardware sales have stalled currently. Nintendo are going for a big christmas promotion, likely a price cut with a bundled game and if that sells a lot of wii u consoles then the major publishers will start developing again but the result of that will be late 2014 I guess when they hit retail apart from more simplistic games with short development periods.

PS4 and Xbox one are being treated differently as they are expected to sell higher hardware numbers and be bought by users with higher disposable incomes (older gamers) who buy the more major titles. Publishers are expecting these consoles to sell better than wii u.

Of course we don't know how ps4 and xbox one will sell. At the beginning you often have a huge number sold like wii u but then after the early adopters its difficult to keep sales rolling. Neither console offers backwards compatibility so the library of games will be low for sometime and they are even more expensive consoles. However I think its fair to say there is a buzz about ps4 currently and most are expecting that to do very well.

I think Nintendo will push again for the casual crowd to buy wii u. Their current marketing has been weak. They are even stopping the video channel on wii which they could have used to solely promote wii u. I don't get their decisions recently.

I'm not a Nintendo loyalist though I just love games. If NIntendo are forced into lowering prices to increase market share or wii u titles are quickly discounted because of low sales then I'll be paying less for games which is good. A 3 way console war is great for consumers, it means plenty of discounts. Although that won't help me with the xbone games because I'm not interested in that console at all. I'm hoping it will offer some competition to the ps4 though so Sony keeps its prices low.

We don't want to see an outright winner that is for sure. Sorry to take the thread off track a bit.

Even if EA goes back to developing games for wii u they will likely be ports from the 360/PS3 versions of games running at the same level of performance approximately. Do we even need those games on wii u. Unless such games make heavy use of the gamepad to enhance gameplay I will be more interested in the ps4 version of such games. Also if they are using an engine not currently written for wii u someone has to adapt it to the wii u first. That won't be easy if the engine is expecting higher cpu performance and routines have to be written to maximise the amount of work done by the gpu.
The poing is will there be consumer demand for weak wii u versions of games that perform at the same level as ps3/360? I personally don't think much demand will ever be there even if the wii u sells a lot of consoles. I think the main wii u audience will be the casual crowd and people that love NIntendo games. It's a younger, more family friendly audience really.

I think realistically at best is we see EA casual games for wii u late in 2014 if the wii u market share recovers and I don't think this is that important to wii u success.

#222464 Electronic Arts will resume full support for Wii U when it "becomes a viable

EA is a business. Yes, they are unreasonable sometimes, and some of their employees have big mouths, but some people need to stop being butthurt because they wouldn't make their games for Wii U. Yes, it sucks, but from a business standpoint, it makes sense. EA's sports games have always had trouble selling on Nintendo consoles. They aren't putting them on because a lot of us (including me, because I personally don't like sports games) didn't buy them. I don't blame them. The install base isn't large enough to have a big enough number of Nintendo sports fans to actually make money yet. And out of most of the games they ported over were just that. Ports. They weren't bad. Actually, EA's games are currently some of the highest rated games for the Wii U on the internet. We just didn't buy them. I don't blame EA for not putting stuff on the Wii U at all. Am I happy about it? No. Do I think from a business standpoint, it's smart of them? Yes. Do I think Nintendo is doomed? No.

And for everyone saying "But the XDONE AND PS4 DON'T HAVE ANY BASE YET LOL EA"

For both consoles, I can guarantee that they will sell more of EA's games on launch than the Wii U has currently. It's just the type of people that buy Nintendo consoles at launch and the type of people that buy MS and Sony consoles at launch. They're different.

#187891 Sort Your carp crap Out, Nintendo

Hm, I think I'll be taking a break from this site until the crying stops. It's getting ridiculous.

Post more porn.

That's how you "take a break" from forums I hear.

Since you are only 12, you missed out on any good console Nintendo was involved with. SNES and N64 were the only good consoles this company ever made.

Nintendo made 3 very good consoles besides those two.

NES, Wii, and I hear the Gamecube was fairly good too though I've only played a small few gamecube games as I've never owned an actual gamecube, and by the time I bought a Wii the games were hard to find and I already had a large backlog of Wii games to play on it.

#187839 Wii U won't be getting Unreal Engine 4

Posted by routerbad on 29 March 2013 - 01:44 PM

LOL.

Man, and I thought the Wii U couldn't look any worse. When you have game developers start to actually laugh out loud at the mention of the "Wii U" you know things are bad.

If UE3 was any indication of how popular UE4 will be in the next few years, then it's seriously over for the Wii U. Ha, what a joke of a console, seriously. Also, saying that UE4 is catered to "Next-Gen" makes me ROFL as the poor Wii U sits with ZERO 3rd party support going into 2014.

Don't worry guys... you'll have Mario to save you!

Your comment is both rife with ignorance, and littered with self importance.  Please donate your brain to science so they can figure out what disorder creates such angst in someone that the only way they can sooth their own shriveling ego is to grief others.

Oh yeah, you haven't passed Erikson's second stage of psycho-social development.

So, I'm assuming every single Nintendo fan who has bought the same exact Mario game over the last 20 years is "Hardcore" ?

Actually yes, "hardcore" doesn't define what someone plays, but how much they play it, so going by your 'same Mario game for 20 years' approach, they are the most hardcore, as a matter of fact.

This thread and it's comments...

^This, Iwata is holding the company back, Nintendo seriously needs to take one out of Sony's playbook and give NOA a larger influence over the company at least that way Nintendo would know the interest of what modern devs and hardcore gamers crave.

As much as I love iwatas honesty and humility.... It time for him to go. We really do need a more modern leadership. Reggie and his kick a$$ and take name.... Yeah right they are sucking right now... No way around it.

There is liking and then there is making excuses for them. I like the Wii U too, but Nintendo is horsing up in some major ways.

Exactly! I know this is a pro Nintendo site but Nintendo can do better and we as their customers handing them over our hard earn mney should expect them to and hold EM to a higher standard all around. It's not fair to just make excuses and put all the blame on 3rd parties because Nintendo wants to do things their way and not have a middle ground.
