#184208 Will PS4 be 1080p only?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 19 March 2013 - 10:51 AM

A 1080p TV is cheap as piss these days, if you can afford a ps4 then you most likely already own a good enough TV.

Maybe so but there is no point in some one spending money on a brand new TV if the current one is working just fine and is capable of working with the new consoles. A new TV is still going to cost several hundred dollars or pounds.

#183362 I dont think the wii u will get good third party :/

Posted by Gamejunkie on 16 March 2013 - 11:58 AM

^This. Nintendrones whine that 3rd parties don't like Nintendo, but they refuse to buy 3rd party games.

Absolute rubbish. You have no clue as to what your talking about. The majority of third party games so far and several of those announced for release in the near future are all ports of games which have been available for a while on other platforms. Why should Wii U owners resort to buying these games especially if they have already played them on other platforms when they deserve new multi platform games to be announced for the Wii U if not also exclusives that take advantage of the its unique features like the Gamepad.

Unfortunately, that is very true.
Nintendo owners complain that they don`t get good 3rd party support, but when they do, not everything fits their tastes and most of the times they will just buy it for another .

Again not true at all.

Developers and publishers are just taking the easy way out to appease Nintendo and Wii U owners by porting over existing games which cost them next to nothing rather then developing new multi platform and exclusive games for the Wii U. Nintendo isn't helping by not giving people a reason to buy a Wii U by offering AAA first party games now. They need to give third parties a reason to invest money in the Wii U by providing these first party games to help increase the market share of the Wii U.

#182624 If you were the boss of Nintendo, how would you reply to this letter?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 14 March 2013 - 10:33 AM

Hi there,

I'm sorry but I don't read a wall of text. If you resend that letter but broken down to readable paragraphs then I will respond to you.

Sincerely

That's a very good price.

#181654 Amazing Spider Man Wii U March 5th

Posted by Gamejunkie on 11 March 2013 - 10:57 AM

I think I did it to this one, I was looking forward to getting ASM on the eShop but it looks like I'll have to get it at retail.

Well this thread is just fine as its still current as the game isn't out yet so the topic is still relevant. Some of the threads that have been resurrected recently would have been better off remaing buried on previous pages of the forum rather then being bumped. Anyway this is getting off topic so I'll stop here.

#181646 Amazing Spider Man Wii U March 5th

Posted by Gamejunkie on 11 March 2013 - 10:19 AM

Amazing Spiderman on out from 8th of march in europe, but its a only third party in ireland so not worth paying €59.99 for

third party and online its a 1st party game.  i never getting this until they sell as it as 1st party game im not buy anymore 3rd party games

That doesn't make any sense. Its a third party game and cannot in anyway be a first party game. They are two totally different classifications of games.

#181644 is it true the wii u will be destroyed by ps4?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 11 March 2013 - 10:15 AM

ps4 will never beat wii u because so far sony are really copied copycats of lot nintendo gadgets, just like the playstation motion play and motion camera  was copy of wii remote plus and nintendo motion camera. nintendo were the 1st to have a dance mat in released it in 1988 as the Power Pad. nintendo were the 1st to have wireless games controllers in days of Super Nintendo, nintendo were the 1st to have vibrating games controllers in days of the nintendo 64 and with help of wii u you can play games  on wii u gamepad while never missing favourite tv programs at the sametime

What's that got to do with anything. Sorry but that makes no sense nor is there any logic in that. Besides there is precedence for this in the previous generation where the PS2 outsold the GameCube by a significant margin. I'm not saying the PS4 will do the same to the Wii U but at the same time no one can say the opposite either unless they have a crystal ball that looks into the future. The PS4 will likely hold its own against the Wii U as it offers several features and experiences the Wii U doesn't. Unless the Wii U gets strong third party support its going to have a tough time as Nintendo's first party games are not going to be enough to make it successful. Unlike the Wii its not aimed primarily at the casual and non-gamer market but is competing far more with the same the market as what Sony and Microsoft traditionally have aimed their consoles at.

#180858 Loving the Wii U

Posted by Gamejunkie on 09 March 2013 - 03:28 AM

Haha yeah i just got my Wii U recently too and so far it's an awesome system. Even though the only game I have for it atm is Nintendo Land (fun game btw) I think that's it's a great piece of technology. I think the Wii U is better than the PS4 in terms of hardware. There's so much stuff you can do on the Wii U compared to the PS4. Though i bet the PS4 will be great too.

Glad you're enjoying your Wii U. It is a good console with a lot of potential. That said I think its very premature to compare it to the PS4. Technically speaking the PS4 is actually better then the Wii U on paper. It obviously depends how developers use that technology. Not to mention we know hardly anything about the PS4 other then what was mentioned at their press conference. That press conference was just a teaser and Sony has yet to reveal a lot aspects of the PS4 yet.

#180644 Would you like Facebook, Twitter, and Skype on Wii U?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 08 March 2013 - 12:04 PM

There is a video chat program on Wii U that resembles Skype. It uses the Miiverse function (which you might have heard about) where you can chat face-to-face with other players and your friends. :)

One problem. That only works with other people who also have a Wii U. Something like Skype would allow you to communicate with a lot more people out there.

#180286 Sony aims for 16 million PS4's this holiday season

Posted by Gamejunkie on 07 March 2013 - 01:12 PM

16 million???  are u kiding me???  1.5 million and I am very generous.  The price will be like 2x wii U's

And the news about online restrictions is still gray...

I very much doubt the price will be twice that of the Wii U. I also think they will sell a lot more then 1.5 million although 16 million is a big stretch. They will certainly equal the Wii U's sales if not surpass them.

#179920 Tomb Raider

Posted by Gamejunkie on 06 March 2013 - 12:19 PM

Too sexist for me.

Its hardly sexist. I don't get it. When develppers don't use female characters as leads people complain. When they do they complain. Lara Croft is hardly sexist. She is a strong female character who kicks butt and shows that even female characters can be the leads in video games.

#179461 Worry about the Wii U? Read this

Posted by Gamejunkie on 05 March 2013 - 12:34 PM

All of this we know about. All of this has been mentioned and discussed here and elsewhere. Its hardly concrete evidence or even a reality. Its all supposition and speculation and doesn't change anything at this point.

#179454 MH3 Not what I was expecting

Posted by Gamejunkie on 05 March 2013 - 12:08 PM

The only Monster Hunter I played was MH: Freedom on the PSP, I liked it a lot. The only downside was the fact that I had no one to play with unless they too had a PSP and MH:F. However I just bought a Wii U literally 3 days ago now and I'm stoked for MH3:U. I was pissed that I couldn't play with people in other regions however I was pleased at the announcement of cross platform play between 3DS and Wii U, it makes the community feel much more bigger and might even sway me to pick up a 3DS.

They have changed their mind and recently announced there is going to be an update in April that not only adds off TV play but also multi region online.

#178590 Would you like Facebook, Twitter, and Skype on Wii U?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 03 March 2013 - 07:18 AM

I know you can access Facebook, and Twitter with the AWESOME internet browser howver I think it would be cool to see a dedicated app for them! Now Skype would be very good since the Gamepad has the camera built in! Maybe even make it part of Wii U Chat. What do you think, is this good for Wii U?

I couldn't careless if any of them come to the Wii U. I don't use them on My of my other consoles that have them so I'm not likely to use them on my Wii U. I have a computer, tablet and smart phone for social networking apps.

#178545 Wii U gamepad for $140?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 03 March 2013 - 03:46 AM

I'm not sure why this is really a problem. The GamePad sems very durable and can withstand many drops.

If something like internal damage occurs, doesn't Nintendo fix it for free?

Yes but the warranty is only for the first year. After that any problems internal or external the consumer will have to pay for.
