#177090 Wii U sales fall below PS Vita's for the first time

Posted by Gamejunkie on 27 February 2013 - 11:36 AM

I'm sure the sales will sky-rocket once SSB is announced, or released. And some other games too, like Wind Waker HD will boost up sales.

Smash Bros. is a long way off so they can't rely on that.

#176669 PS4 launch=Wii U price cut?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 26 February 2013 - 01:01 PM

Just to add. Nintendo's problem isn't the price but a lack of compelling first and third party software. If that was there neither the price nor the hardware sales would be a point of contention.

#176667 Do you think nintendo can get enough 3rd party support

I disagree.

I suspect the majority out there will disagree with you.

#176611 Do you think nintendo can get enough 3rd party support

This is simply not true.
The Wii gave birth to thousands of new third party games.

The majority of which was rubbish shovelware.

Bad games exist everywhere.
Your memories are clouded, if you're old enough to have had a SNES as a kid.
If not, you've only heard of the good games.

True but the Wii had a much larger percentage then any other console so far. That was to an extent Nintendo's fault but still there was no excuse for it.

You already replied to that post 15 minutes ago.
That's an opinion. I find the opinion on the wii to be skewed, and quite childish.
The SNES had many worse games on it than the Wii, but memories fade.

Rubbish. The view on Wii games is neither skewed or childish. If anything its the games themselves that were mostly childish and lacking any sense of proper design, gameplay or quality presentation, graphics and sound.

I agree with Nollog. Now while there are some amazing games on the SNES, it also does have MANY more horrible games than the Wii did. And this is because the library was bigger on the SNES. The SNES is my favorite console of all time, but let's take off the rose-tinted glasses, people.

I disagree. The library of Wii games is far larger then that of the SNES and it has far more forgettable mediocre games then the SNES.

#176605 Lego Batman 2 coming to wii u

Posted by Gamejunkie on 26 February 2013 - 11:30 AM

Whilst the game is good this is hardly worthy news. Its just another example of a third party company trying to appease Nintendo and Nintendo Wii U owners by releasing another port of an old game rather then spending resources on a new exclusive or at least a new multi platform release.

#174830 How will sony pay for gaikai severs?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 23 February 2013 - 08:41 AM

I have a feeling that Sony might start charging for all online services just like Microsoft.

Quite possibly so. But then Microsoft charging for thier online services hasn't exactly kept people away from Xbox Live. Considering how many people pay for it its likely Sony won't have a problem charging as well. That's not to say they will.

#174095 Exactly how large is the power gap between the Wii U and the PS4?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 21 February 2013 - 10:27 AM

Apple Iphones have been underpowered and stale against the Android OS for years now... But they still sell great because of the name. Nintendo won't have a problem.

I whole heartedly disagree. There is nothing stale or underpowered about the iPhones, iPads and iOS. In many ways they are superior to the Android platform. Besides its not all about power when it comes to phones and tablets. The iOS platform offers a far better user experience then Android.

Personally I never expected the Wii U to be the console of choice with great first party and third party choice. I figured if it had great third party support then great but I was always going to buy the PS 4 and the Xbox 360 successors at launch anyway. If the Wii U turns out to be a console primarily for Nintendo first party games then so be it. Nintendo haven't leant from their mistakes with the Wii and the Wii U may well play third fiddle to the PS 4 and Microsoft's next console. I hope its not for the sake of Nintendo fans but its sure looking that way so far.

#172750 Vita heaven announcement tonight.

Posted by Gamejunkie on 18 February 2013 - 12:34 PM

Thing is dead move on people, don't get me wrong but Nintendo dominates the handheld market an with tablets and smartphones on the rise I just don't think there is room for Sony anymore, probably why Microsoft never bothered with a dedicated handheld gaming device, Sony should just concerntrate on thier home consoles now.

Absolute rubbish. The Vita is no more dead then the Wii U is. Not to mention there is not only a significant difference between the 3DS and the Vita there is room for two portables in the market especially when they are going after different kinds of markets. Further more smart phones and tablets are neither in the same league nor in the same market as portable game systems and they will never seriously provide competition to them. Even the 3DS was doing poorly before Nintendo reluctantly dropped the price and introduced the ambassador program. Sony have already announced a price drop in Japan and hopefully will do the same in other territories.

Is it bad that I want the ZombiU bundle JUST for the artbook...?

Yes.

#171775 Google Maps with Street View now live on Nintendo's Wii U eShop

Posted by Gamejunkie on 15 February 2013 - 10:18 AM

Good news, something new to play with but I'm getting tired of not getting any of these here in the UK. We're still waiting for TVii, which I could understand as we have different stations, but now we have to wait for this which has no regional differences.

I guess you haven't actually looked on the e-shop then as it was released in the UK the same time as the US. I'm in the UK and downloaded it on my Wii U.

#170694 Aliens Colonial Marines Thread

Posted by Gamejunkie on 12 February 2013 - 10:37 AM

well look at it this way guys. the game zombiu had horrible reviews, and i mean horrible. but yet, most who tried it love the game. so what im saying is, dont buy a game based on a review. try it out yourself and then come to the conclusion on wether you like it or not.

I would hardly call these horrible reviews.

#169125 Repositioning the WiiU

Posted by Gamejunkie on 09 February 2013 - 05:20 AM

What about:
WiiU
The Next Gen in Creative Gaming
It's WiiU related but not about Hardware either...It's about Marketing for the whole system including games, software, philosophy and more. Uhm...where should I put that?

It should be in the hardware forum as its a general Wii U thread and more about the hardware capabilities then individual software titles.
