#222078 Pachter declares the PSVita dead
Posted by Gamejunkie
on 15 June 2013 - 01:57 AM
Wow, Pachter does one of two things when he predicts 1. State an absurd guess with no info to back it and often bashes a company; of number 2, as evident here, states the blatantly obvious.
We know the Vita is dead, the number of games worth buying for it can be counted on one hand. That is bad. And it has been out for a year an a half now, with no support for the next year. I wouldn't be surprised. If Sony stopped production o it next year.
Absolute rubbish. There may not be many games you like on the Vita but that doesn't mean quality games don't exist. There are far more quality games for it then can be counted on one hand and certainly far more quality games for it then the 3DS. It certainly is not dead. Admittedly its not doing as well as it should be but its still alive.
I've honestly been wondering if Sony actually cares about the Vita. It always felt like they weren't really sure what to do with it.
Their audience is the type to prefer console gaming and already owns a PS3, so if the vita game was the exact same, they had little reason to buy it. If it utilized a bunch of touch controls people would write it off as a "casual" game or complain that they should have used normal controls. "Console gaming on the go" means very little if you have a console and don't spend much free time outside of your house.
The vita has gotten a ton of just so-so ports, with only a few games being gems.
The price has been an issue, they need to lower it or include a nice memory card in the west.
In Japan at least, the killing blow was Nintendo getting Monster Hunter, the primary reason the PSP sold so well there.
It honestly feels like they are just throwing things at it and hoping it will sell.
I disagree. There have been a few ports but most have been sequels to existing franchises or new IP's and most are quality games.
PSvita is dead NOW, but it can be revived; meaning it has a lot of potential.
Its not dead.
This has been said since E3 2012, TGS 2012, ComicCon 2012, etc. The Vita is as good as dead, it's being used as an accessory for the PS4.
No its not dead.
yeah but the vita is dead... sony is just acting like it isn't, as Rod Serling said, it is being used as a controller for the PS4...
Its not dead.

I love it, the only problem I have is I live in Europe and they included French and German Subtitles which you can't turn off, really quite annoying sometimes....... Solid port apart from that little hiccup though
Yes I find that really annoying too. They could have easily offered us a version that had an option to play it without those subtitles.

#205180 Avalanche Studios: Wii U Dev Kits are Collecting Dust

In the article is says " the install base is too small " , then it says " nintendo is hard to contact " . So which excuse is it? Surely, if you think the install base is too small you would not bother contacting them. Or was it, they tried contacting them only to realize the install base was too small.. ?
LOL . Check out the gif below.. the baby would be the Wii U (since it's still new, young) and Mr. Bean represents the publishers who make excuses to no end seemingly trying to rub it in to wii u owners.
You obviously haven't considered both of them might be true. None of us have an insight into any of these developers and publishers. They obviously have their reasons for not supporting the Wii U and that is a business decision they have made.

I'm not. There are just too many other good games on other platforms. I can't handle not being able to play a good game just because I don't own the console.
Same here. I am and will always be a multi platform gamer for this reason. I'm fortunate I can afford to own all the consoles which is great as there will always be exclusives I want to play like The Last Of Us and Beyond Two Souls on the PS3.
its stupid considering more than 1 console... Just think about all these people who say: OH I WILL GET 720 AND WII u.. OR... PS4 AND wii U.. or all of them... hahaha
now just calculate that money 300 for wii U + 200-400 for accessories and games and a ps4 for 400-500+400-600 in games... overall an extreme pc with loads of games and for more years than the actual console can live!.
u normally get 1 platform that has the best exclusives and a pc... I never like the idea of 2 consoles, or 3... Today consoles cost alot of money! In the other hand people say.. PC IS EXPENSIIIIVE.. yeah right, let me ask you a question... how much money you gave the last 5 years in consoles... PC can last much longer and u play much better quality games.
Rubbish. Its not stupid in the least. Just because you can't afford all the consoles doesn't mean others who can shouldn't buy all or a combination of some oe them. You may be happy sticking with one console and missing out on quality exclusives or multi platform games which are better on other consoles but not everyone is. Gaming is my one and only hobby and I don't really spend a lot of money on other things so can and will buy more then one console.

Give me some reasons...
If you need convincing to buy one by asking a bunch of strangers on the Internet to justify your purchase then you probably shouldn't be buying one.

I'm getting this on my Wii U, I'm supporting 3rd party devs on Wii U, they didn't have to put this game on Wii U but they did, I will also get GTA V on Wii U if it comes just to show even more support, people moan nintendo consoles never get 3rd party support then when it does people don't bother, most Nintendo fans are the problem with this, SUPPORT 3RD PARTYS!!!
Its not as simple as that. Third parties not only need to release their games day and date with the other platform versions but the Wii U versions need to be as good as them if not better. Considering the hardware in the Wii U is not going to be able to compete against the PS4 and likely the Xbox successor that's going to be a tall order. What the Wii U does have going for it is the Gamepad and if developers can add compelling features to the Wii U versions of their games using the Gamepad then there may be a chance for the Wii U. Watch Dogs is a perfect example of a game that could have its gameplay enhanced through the Gamepad. This is why I have preordered the Wii U version. If Ubisoft doesn't do a good job with that and/or the PS4 version is better I will get that version instead.

#201984 WHY DID YOU BUY THE WII U
Posted by Gamejunkie
on 30 April 2013 - 10:14 AM
Nintendo's looking to get a lot of third party exclusives. So far they scored Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 with Platinum, I think this is just the beginning. Unlike Sony and Microsoft, I think Nintendo is going to fund and publish more third party games to get locked on Wii U exclusive.
I very much doubt Nintendo will secure as many third party exclusives as Sony or Microsoft. Besides both Bayonetta and Wonderful 101 are niche titles and hardly system sellers which is what Nintendo needs. Nintendo have never been very aggressive when it comes to securing either exclusive or multiplatform third party titles especially AAA titles and that is one of the problems.

#201978 Question Concerning the Wii U eShop
Posted by Gamejunkie

Yes, they can.
Currently my bank prevents me from buying from things it deems "unsuitable"
Sucks when they think greenmangaming (A really cheap, pc download store, that occasionally rivals steam) is a gambling website.
They also blocked xbox.com when I was buying Microsoft Points.
Then you need to change banks. I've never heard of a bank imposing such restrictions and I'm sure no other bank out there would.

Nintendo exclusives.
Nintendo exclusives.
That's my primary reason too. I've always been a multiplatform gamer and will continue to be one. Owning one console you always end up on missing a lot of great games.
