Posted by SolxBurst on 01 October 2012 - 04:30 PM

There is a Nintendo Direct Mini on 10/2/12 where Nintendo will discuss the New Super Mario Bros. 2 DLC. The "mini" added to the end will signify a series they are starting that will be short videos that are not full Nintendo Directs that will concentrate on one game.

It will be at 7:30 AM PT/10:30 AM ET

#114174 Wii U Go Revival

Posted by SolxBurst on 01 October 2012 - 02:12 PM

Wii U Go is back up and posting! The delay was unfortunate, and recovery will be sort of slow but it is back. I am at the helm of writing at the moment and will continue to be there for quite a while.

#113738 Is the Wii U launch missing a game?

Posted by SolxBurst on 29 September 2012 - 06:59 PM

I feel like Borderlands 2 is missing, that would make me very excited. Battlefield 3 Premium Edition would be nice, but we will probably instead get Battlefield 4.

But I know how you feel, the launch is impressive and I love what I am seeing with the Wii U but I get this feeling it is not enough... But I am sure that once the Wii U is in my hands those thoughts will subside.

#113299 Are you concerned about if the Wii U can breaks because of overuse?

Posted by SolxBurst on 27 September 2012 - 05:04 PM

Except the Wii.

The Wii is built like a brick. Have you seen the damage they do to TV's?!

#112964 COPY-CATS

Posted by SolxBurst on 26 September 2012 - 02:02 PM

The possibility of a "copied" controller from Sony or Microsoft hangs on whether the Wii U console is very successful. But from past experience I can say that Microsoft and Sony do not like placing bets on something "new" to drive their next-gen console, that is why they did not make a new console using motion controls but instead waited for Nintendo to test the waters, and see if it was worth their money diving into. Nintendo took the risk and it paid off tremendously. But that was in the past, and past can only tell us so much however, the next consoles from Sony and Microsoft should differentiate themselves, I want consoles to be separate experiences, and that is what Nintendo is setting itself up as, a different experience.

#109691 Wii U packaging shows, "Wii U Chat"

Posted by SolxBurst on 18 September 2012 - 02:51 PM

http://www.nintendo....u/features.html

I'll never understand why people don't just go to Nintendo's various websites rather than doing weird stuff like zooming in on box art.

The main reason behind the article is the labeling of "Wii U Chat", which I believe has not been said, the fact that it is labeled as something may prove that there are more features inside of "Wii U Chat".

#109669 Wii U packaging shows, "Wii U Chat"

On the box of the Wii U there is something called Wii U Chat, and I like what I see.

The one that stood out to me was, "Communicate with other Wii U owners in real time with Wii U Chat".

#108588 Nintendo Land, Nintendo's Best Advertisement Ever

Posted by SolxBurst on 16 September 2012 - 10:30 AM

A thought that has occurred to me as of recently is that Nintendo Land is one of Nintendo's strategies for a big advertisement for themselves. And I do not mean that there will be gigantic billboards having ads on them, but instead the game itself will advertise. Think of yourself as new to Nintendo consoles and you buy Nintendo Land cause it has Mario on it. Then you discover these other attractions and enjoy ones such as Metroid Blast. Then a new Metroid game comes out and you think, "Hey, I liked that attraction on Nintendo Land, I want to play the actual game!". Then they buy a game that they never would have bought without the experience on Nintendo Land. This will especially help for lesser known franchises such as Pikmin, F-Zero, etc.. What do you guys think, does this strategy seem like it will work?

#108491 Did anyone preorder the Wii U? Are you guys on the Hype train?

Posted by SolxBurst on 16 September 2012 - 07:35 AM

Let's just say that I did not just board the hype train, but I now have a season pass!

I think that Nintendo has shown during the conference that they are making some amazing decisions, We will see how it goes. But so far they are steamrolling the market.

#108480 Is Battlefield 3 still possible?

Posted by SolxBurst on 16 September 2012 - 07:14 AM

Honestly, I don't see many games being ported over to Wii U that have already been released.

Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition, Darksiders 2, Trine 2: Directors Cut, and Tekken Tag Tournament 2. There a quite a few but what they do is include some sort of update/DLC to make it all worth your while, which is exactly what Battlefield 3 Premium Edition is. And if EA wants to put Battlefield 3 on Wii U, I am sure Nintendo would not oppose a new fan base coming to their console.

#108466 Is Battlefield 3 still possible?

Posted by SolxBurst on 16 September 2012 - 06:56 AM

With the recent announcement of Battlefield 3 Premium Edition coming to retailers soon, I have been curious if this means that there could be a Wii U version, we have not heard anything about it for a while. So I tweeted to @Battlefield asking them if there was a possibility. They replied with:

@solxburst There is no official word regarding that at this moment! ^SA

It's not much but at least it was not a "it is not coming". There may still be hope.

#107935 Wii U have Gamecube Compatibility?

Posted by SolxBurst on 15 September 2012 - 07:01 AM

It wont be backwards compatible with gamecube games, or controllers. But there is a strong possibility of them being on Virtual Console.
