#228887 Wind Waker U Discussion

Posted by Envy on 04 July 2013 - 06:33 PM

Right now I don't have any plans at all to get it. I wasn't impressed with it at all from E3. At times I couldn't tell whether I was looking at the GCN version or the Wii U version. WW was never my favorite Zelda, and a remastered port just isn't worth it.

#221706 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion Thread

I'm afraid every single thing that Sakurai is saying in terms of this game is already disappointing me.

So there's this Kotaku article where he states that third party characters are not to be expected, that's fine, but then he goes down to state this:

And what about returning characters? I knew Sakurai wouldn't want to get too specific—Nintendo likes to announce characters for their big mascot fighting series with a dripfeed of news on the Smash Bros. Dojo website—but should fans expect all of their favorites from Melee and Brawl?

"The reality of the situation unfortunately is that there are certain limitations on the 3DS," Sakurai said. The 3DS and Wii U versions of the next Smash Bros will have the same library of characters.

"So we're forced into the situation where we may need to reduce some characters to a certain degree. but we're really working hard in order to include as many characters as possible."

This is exactly what I was afraid of, and ironically got laughed at for... Suggesting that the 3DS version might limit the Wii U version's potential. I can't believe this. There is absolutely no reason that the Wii U version should have to be limited. Everybody knows that handhelds are less powerful than consoles, so we understand if the handheld version has to be smaller.

The fact that he's really going to keep the roster the exact same between both of them is just really ridiculous. Even though I love the idea of a handheld SSB, if this is what has to come of it, I no longer want it.

Suddenly I'm actually really annoyed by the inclusion of the Wii Fit Trainer. I wonder exactly which veterans he chose to cut for her inclusion? =/

Well, at least those constantly complaining about not enough female characters are getting their wish. xD

#219442 Nintendo E3= Disappointing?

Mario 3D World is Christmas, so is Donkey Kong. (Throw in third party like batman, assassin's creed, watch dogs and rayman: you've got a winning combo).

Neither of those games are anywhere near system selling for me.

Mario Kart 8 looks next Gen to me. Amazing. All those turns, the huge tracks, amazing.

Exactly what I was thinking. This is the first Nintendo game that has screamed to me that it actually belongs on the Wii U. Those graphics are definitely making use of the Wii U's power and the HD.

Might as well call it NSMBU 3d.  Looked pretty linear and also like it only had 3 camera angles

^This, so much this.

Not only is it sad that Nintendo is continuing down the path of linear level designs, now they're continuing down the line of New Super Mario Bros. This looks like a New Super Mario Bros.-like sequel. If this is really what is to become of the 3D Mario series, it's very sad.

This was incredibly underwhelming.

Not only are they continuing the linear Mario 3D platformers (as opposed to the design of Super Mario 64 and Sunshine, which set them so far apart from the 2D series), they're continuing the 3DS series of 3D Land.

This is the first time we've gotten a 3D Mario on the console as a followup to another. It's no wonder this didn't blow anybody's minds. The thought of this being what is supposed to be the Wii U's definitive 3D Mario game is very disappointing and flat out embarrassing...

This is what I've been waiting for, the complete obolishment of Friend Codes, BRING IT ON!!!!!!

Is that even possible, though? (This is a real question, not an argument).

#217731 Animal crossing: New Leaf releases tonight.

Posted by Envy on 09 June 2013 - 08:46 AM

I never played one but it looks just like the DS one. Please correct me.

You might need to get your eyes checked if you honestly think it looks just like the DS one.

I can sum it up quite easily with this:

I know, it's the same picture I'm using for my signature, which ironically sums up more. xD

1. I like playing the bassoon and tenor saxophone.

2. I like taking photography (although my camera is broken now, so I haven't been able to do that since early this year. =( )

3. I like making signature banners on PhotoShop. The one I'm using right now obviously isn't really an example, though, it's just a cropped version of the photograph I took above. lol

Sorry, no personal pictures of them because my camera broke several months ago. And my phone camera is really bad.

I also got some CLOTHES and some extra cute shoes! But no pictures... Oh well, it's a video gaming forum, nobody cares anyway. xD

#215397 Anyone getting Animal Crossing New Leaf?

Posted by Envy on 04 June 2013 - 01:54 AM

Of course I am! The release of this game aligns perfectly with the end of my workweek, so that's nice!

Hard to believe it's actually happening. It felt like it took forever.

#214932 How many games do you "need?"

Posted by Envy on 02 June 2013 - 08:40 PM

What I expect out of every Nintendo console now, really... Super Smash Bros. 4, Animal Crossing, 3D Super Mario platformer, Mario Kart, and last, but most certainly not least, the new Legend of Zelda. I also would love a new Kirby 64 style Kirby.

Those are the franchises I really watch for. The rest really don't match my interests. Although I'm looking into trying the Fire Emblem franchise.

#212086 Nintendo Characters you find attractive?

Well, I suppose there's something about Fire Emblem characters...

#212079 Official E3 Discussion Thread. (Updated with The Times)

Posted by Envy on 27 May 2013 - 09:02 PM

What I want to see?

~Super Mario U being an open world platformer in the style of Super Mario 64 and Sunshine. Plus, with gorgeous visuals that really show off what the Wii U can do. But I have little doubt on the last point.

~Mario Kart U being a quality game that will be fun to play online.

~Super Smash Bros. 4 being mindblowingly awesome. There's one character I'd really love to see, but I'd imagine they'd be unlockable so I don't have much high hopes for seeing them here.

~A surprise title for the Wii U that I might be interested in. Just because I felt like E3 2011 and 2012 were majorly lacking in surprises. They certainly didn't make me want a Wii U, I'll say that much.

~Some non-Mario franchises getting nice-looking titles on the 3DS. Personally, I'd love to see a new Kirby platformer in the style of Kirby 64.

Who cares about E3? Animal Crossing is where It's at!

I'm going to laugh if they end up showing it at E3 afterall. Just because IIRC they sometimes use E3 to advertise games that have already come out. Maybe I'm remembering wrong...

Either way, if it shows up in any way that's more than screenshots and a trailer posted on Nintendo's E3 website after the conference, it will have been shown more this year than it was for the three E3's that actually preceded the release of the game. Remember, it was completely absent from last year's E3 in every way.
