#258052 Wii U CPU - NEW INFO

What I get from all this is what we all ready know. It's going to take some work to take full control of the CPU fully.

#249672 graphic power

Posted by MorbidGod on 04 October 2013 - 12:22 PM

X

Exactly.

Nope Nintendo has gone on record stating Zelda is one of the games they "know" they have to push the graphics. Zelda U is gonna have an insane budget by Nintendo standards. Its going to be one of the best looking titles on ALL next gen platforms just mark my words on that one.

I don't know about that, but it should be beautiful.

Golden sun or any role playing game

So X.

#236865 IGN: Nintendo should look to new hardware, If Wii U doesn't pick up

Posted by MorbidGod on 03 August 2013 - 12:50 PM

Welcome to 90s Sega, where Genesis Does and Blast Processing were all Sega needed to sell their system. Not to mention the Atari Jaguar and Nintendo 64 boasting about their 64 bit processors and the PS3 Cell Processor advertisements. Graphics have been a selling point for systems ever since you were able to see a big difference. From 8 bit to 16 bit to 32 and 64 bit to HD, graphics have always been the first thing people are when a new system is shown off.

And all those systems were last place in their respective generation. So, wasn't a very good selling point, was it?

#232224 Wii U's 1 GB of Ram.... how to use it.

Posted by MorbidGod on 16 July 2013 - 10:56 PM

First off, that specific game doesn't look as good as Watch Dogs on Wii U does. So if graphics is the only thing you want, you might be disappointed.

Second, how many times do I have to say this - adding more RAM doesn't make better graphics. Think about back in the N64 days. Did the expansion pack really make a big jump?

Think about it this way. I am someone who builds things and carves things. I had most of my life a small place to work. Limited tools. One day a billionaire gave me a work place with fancy tools as big as s football field. Does that make me a better sculptor, or merely gives me more space to work with?

That's what RAM does. Allows developers and programmers to have more room for more details. Better AI. Remember how blood stains in Golden Eye, how they went away? And on Perfect Dark they didn't? The extra RAM allowed Rare to do that (and much more).

So again, more RAM doesn't equal better graphics.

#231938 Wii U's Biggest Problem [Not a Hate Thread]

Posted by MorbidGod on 15 July 2013 - 06:57 PM

I'm not sure who's fault it is, but Nintendo had a pretty big lead in the release dates game and when their console could have shined, it didn't. Nintendo has been known for doing this. They released the GameCube when pretty much all they had was Luigi's Mansion, although Smash Bros. Melee wasn't far behind. They released the original Wii when all they had was Twilight Princess. Etc.

The problem is they didn't have that one killer title. They didn't have a Zelda. They didn't have a proper Mario game. They had ZombiU, and other third party titles. And it didn't sell the Wii U.

That was Nintendo's big mistake. Trusting someone else to do their job for them. They should of had that one game ... And they didn't.

Must... Resist...

Nope, I just can't.

...And I also can't find the picture I was looking for. Confound it.

I don't think the whole, "HD Development is harrrrrd," excuse is a good one at all. Sony went through issues when they entered HD development. Microsoft had issues. Nintendo should have known it's harder than it was on the Wii to make games if they actually, I don't know, payed attention? And with the huge First Party drought on Wii in it's final years they had ample time to get used to developing in HD. But they didn't.

Just because you paid attention, doesn't mean you know what needs to be done. I can watch someone build a house and think I can do it. But until I actually do it, I may not be prepared.

They estimated what they needed and was wrong. Even Platinum Games, someone who has made HD games, ran into delays.

Remember, too, Nintendo is known for delaying until it's perfect. That's there way.

#230742 Miyamoto hints at his new IP to be released in 2014

Posted by MorbidGod on 11 July 2013 - 06:11 AM

I want a dark gritty Nintendo superhero game kinda like iNFAMOUS to apeal to the older fans who grew up with Nintendo, probably not going to happen though :(

Yeah that isn't going to happen. But it would be nice!

#230442 Nintendo to announce secret “brand-new types of games” for Wii U soon

Posted by MorbidGod on 10 July 2013 - 03:51 AM

I think most people probably consider video games in general somewhat adolescent at best, not matter how adult the theme.....

My GF has two sons born 16 years apart. We play Smash Bros and Mario Kart- a 43 year old, a 21 year old and a five year old. That's priceless. That's what's cool about Nintendo.

Exactly. Nintendo games generally are fun no matter how old you are. That's exactly what they try to do.

#230060 Ubisoft – Zombie U “wasn’t even close to being profitable”

Posted by MorbidGod on 08 July 2013 - 09:02 PM

Excuse me for not checking every article to make sure a quote is 100% correct?
I'm not sure that I should be apologizing for trusting a news source that's supposed to check these things for me. :/

That's what is sad about this industry. I, someone who is educated in writing, didn't catch this. After re reading, and listening to 3Dude, I see he didn't actually quote anything. We are suppose to assume it's real. Which is wrong.

I've emailed Ubisoft US PR about this. I'll let you know if I get a response.

#230057 EA: "Wii U is a Box that’s out of sync for EA’s online future"

Posted by MorbidGod on 08 July 2013 - 08:44 PM

Makes no sense. The Wii U is meant to be online. Miiverse is a huge feature. I'm just confused by what comes out of this guys mouth.

I kinda agree. The box doesn't feel online. Easy ways they could fix is, on the start up screen show the people who are online in your circle of Miis. Give us corner notifications when a friend logs on or a favorite TV show is coming on. Cross game voice chat and making things like the menus for miiverse and the friends list load quicker(which I think is what the summer update is for?).

You realize that the Mii's u see are real Mii's, and they crowd around what's trending right now? And it does show current comments about that software.

However, of you were able to see what your friends where playing that would be cool. That could be there. I don't have many friends so I wouldn't know.

#228330 Iwata: More unannounced games coming to Wii U by 2014

Posted by MorbidGod on 02 July 2013 - 03:40 PM

Tons of support, what with six & twelve month old ports, i have had a WiiU since launch & these are the games i have NSMBU, ZombiU (i got with the console) Cod Black Ops 2 & NFS-MW, i also have these digital games Trine 2 & Luigi for NSMBU & that's it, that's six games in eight months of owning my WiiU, the game i play most is Black Ops 2 because it's the only multiplayer game on the WiiU basically, & don't go on about Batman & AC because i have already played them to the death on my X360 & PS3, when i go into to my local Game store the X360 & PS3 have new games on the shelves but the WiiU shelf has the same games everytime in go in, there is nothing new coming out for it, it's no good saying 101 & Pikmin will be out in a few months because they simply won't save the WiiU, even UbiSoft have said they are now more focused on the PS4 & X1, people should be talking about the games that can be played NOW on the WiiU & not about the games that they will be playing on the PS4 & X1, thats the problem.

As for the false promises by Iwata, he said that the WiiU was going to have full third party support because Nintendo knew that they had problems in the past, they said they were working with all the major developers & publishers, now it takes a couple of years to make a game, so where the hell are they ?

I know this has gone off topic, but you asked.

This gen Nintendo are going to have the lowest amount of third party ever, even the 3DO & Atarti Jaguar had more third party support than the WiiU is getting !

You can't discount the ports, like Batman, just because you have played them to death. Both of those games haven't reach 100m+ sales yet ... So not everyone has played them. I have played AC3, and I have not played Batman. AC3 I bought on Wii U.

However, the problem Nintendo had wasn't first party. They had Batman, COD, AC3, Darksiders 2, Madden, FIFA, Sega Sonic Racing, Lego City, ZombiU, Just Dance 4, Skylanders, Mickey 2, Ninja Guiden (which was improved from the original), Takken. I know I am also missing others.

The problem was there wasn't that must have game. Nintendo trust that ZombiU was going to be that one game. It was presented in that way at E3 2012. Ubisoft is good, but that game was not that must have title. From that third party list, all were pretty much multiplats. So, when people are considering a new console, why buy a new console to play games you can get on the console you have?

That's why Nintendo mistake was NOT HAVING Pikman, not having Wonderful 101 at or near launch. If they did then things would be different.

And remember, launch was good enough to get 3m+ sales in a few months. The problem didn't start until January 2013. That's when the drought killed the Wii U sales.

THAT DROUGHT HAS ENDED. Nintendo has, starting with Pikman 3 and Wonderful 101, a big list of exclusives - both first party and third - leading until 2014 with the possibility of more to come. The only reason we have no names and no dates is they aren't sure they are going to make 2013 date. This way they don't promise something they can't do.

So again, what promise has he not fulfilled?

#228325 Reggie Points To PlayStation 2 In Defense Of Wii U Power

Posted by MorbidGod on 02 July 2013 - 03:24 PM

I think coming in dead last by a large margin makes it rather easy to admit.

It's simply fact.

GCN sold 20 million, while Xbox sold 24 million. I'd say GCN and Xbox were pretty close.

Dreamcast 10 million.

Difference being, PS2 excelled at having third party games.

PS2 survived on third party exclusives and their own first party. The nicest selling game, though, were GTA's and Grand Trisimo games. If you look at all the best selling games, most were launched ad exclusives and then moved to other platforms or were always exclusive (first party and FFX).

So yes, it survived on third party, but Nintendo has more first party IP's. They just need to make them.

#227225 Iwata: More unannounced games coming to Wii U by 2014

Posted by MorbidGod on 28 June 2013 - 02:35 PM

I read this "There are more unannounced Wii U titles coming by 2014"
What I got out of that was more titles would be coming in 2014, throughout the year. By is a weird word to use in that sentence, could be translation or something. Why wouldn't they just say there are more unannounced Wii U titles coming in 2013, by end of the year.

Unknown! I just know what it said lol. Could be bad translation too who knows! ^_^

Also, it could be that they aren't sure if the games will be done by 2014 so they are being vague in purpose.

#226932 What Nintendo should do next year.

Posted by MorbidGod on 27 June 2013 - 03:18 PM

Oh yeah, I want those too. And every game pretty much shown. Lol I'm going to be broke.

MarioKart and Olympics for sure.... Probably will for Donkey Kong and then maybe one of Bayonetta or X.....

Will probably then wait for the rest to come down.

#226742 Ex-Vigil employee who said " Wii U is horrible", now changed his mind.

Posted by MorbidGod on 27 June 2013 - 09:00 AM

SONY IS SUPPORTING INDIE DEVELOPERS.

HAVE YOU PEOPLE FORGOTTEN THAT?!

That was one of the big points of their E3.

I think if you read what he said, he mentioned  Sony did support indie. He did call out Microsoft. So, unless your upset that people at a Nintendo forum is happy that a new developer is praising Nintendo for their efforts, I don't understand where your comment is coming from.
