#160786 21K systems sold last week - Nintendos Wii U problems turn into a crisis.

Posted by Hank Hill on 19 January 2013 - 10:00 AM

Remember kids. Whenever the Wii U sells 21K units in a week in Japan, it's a crisis that will never turn around. When the Vita sells under 10K units a week for many months in Japan, there's still time to turn it around.

All there is to do is wait for the games. I'm sure sales will pick up when it gets more of its announced games released.

Dudley at his finest hour.

Time for the first piece of Dursley trivia! Did you that in the book " Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" released in July of 2000. It is mentioned that Dudley Dursley throws his Playstation ( AKA PSX,PSone) out the window after being frustrated because Vernon Dursley and Petunia Dursley ask him to go on a diet. But the strange part is, the book takes place on August 4th 1994, meaning Dudley threw the PSone out on that day or before. Yet the Playstation wasn't released in Japan until December 1994, and 1995 overseas.

I request to have this thread pinned.

Welcome to Dursley Land!
This thread is about the family that lives at 4 Privet Drive,Little Whinging in the Harry Potter series. The Dursley's, this is their story. Before we begin.....

It is recommended that you listen to this music while reading this thread for maximum enjoyment.

The family

Posted Image

The main Dursley family consists of three members. Vernon Dursley, Petunia Dursley, and Dudley Dursley. Other members of the family include Marjorie " Marge" Dursley.

After the death of Harry's parents at the hands of Lord Voldemort, Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Hagrid dropped him at the Dursley's doorstep. Over the years, Harry was treated terribly by the whole Dursley family. Seeing as they thought he was a misfit as his parents were wizards. They constantly had to deal with random wizard stuff from Harry until the day he received invitations to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry then lived at Hogwarts, only during the Summer breaks did he stay with the Dursley family.  That is until Harry grew up and lived in the Wizard World. In 1997, the family went in hiding from Lord Voldemort, their whereabouts are currently unknown ( they probably died).

Vernon Dursley

( Father of Dudley Dursley, Husband of Petunia Dursley,  Uncle of Harry Potter, brother of Marge Dursley,)

This colorful creature was born sometime in the 1950's ( current age around 70). He attended the Smeltings school. He met the love of his life, Petunia Evans at a job in London. Vernon took Petunia on boring dates until he proposed to her in his mother's bathroom. On June 23rd 1980, his wife gave birth to Dudley Dursley, who was spoiled by his parents. After Harry was left at their doorstep, Vernon abused Harry by treating him rudely and comparing him to Dudley. Over the years he had to put up with his innocent nephew, until he went to Hogwarts. Vernon is described as a beefy man with 5,000 chins, and a short temper ( so he gets mad a a lot).

Petunia Dursley

( Wife of Vernon, Mother of Dudley, Sister in law to Marge, Aunt to Harry Potter)This delightful human was born in 1959, current age around 50).  She went to some school we don't know about and has the same relationship story as Vernon. She gave birth to Dudley in June 1980. She's describes as a lady who wears earrings, and has a face. She had a complicated relationship with her sister ( soon to be mother of Harry Potter) because sister went to wizard school and Petunia thought she was a freak.

Dudely Dursley

( Son of Vernon and Petunia, nephew to Marge, cousin to Harry) This handsome hunk  was born in 1980 ( age around 30), he was spoiled, and mean to Harry. He went to Smeltings, and got married and had children. He's described as a guy with a nice hat and a welcoming smile. When he was just an little kiddykins his favorite game was Mega- Mutilation Part 3 ( the other two parts didn't exist) on Playstation.

Marge Dursley ( Sister of Vernon, Aunt to Harry and Dudely, sister in law of Petunia)

She's a person who's the sister of Vernon. She acted mean towards Harry and he blew her up into a balloon, then she popped ( she go boom). Before she died she liked to raise dogs at a farm ( but she drowned the runts of the litters for some disgusting reason, mean lady), despite owning a killer dog named Ripper.

#156163 How Do You Unsync A Wii Remote From A Wii U Console?

You take a tub of butter, melt it, and pour it all over the Wii remote.

1. The title of this thread is misleading as it suggests these games are available to play on the gamepad (when we all know they are not, yet).

2. Did your statement really require its own thread? These things are better suited to status updates

3. We all hope these games become available to play on the gamepad

#155805 Gamer parent asking what should I buy

Posted by TheUltimateWaddleDee on 03 January 2013 - 06:47 PM

Note: This applies to North America only. I don not know the information for other countries
System Model
The Basic Set comes with: a white Wii U, a white Wii U gamepad with stylus, a sensor bar (same one as the Wii), a console ac adapter, a gamepad ac adapter, and an hdmi cable. This will cost $299.
The Deluxe Set comes with: everything listed earlier, although the Wii U, gamepad, and stylus are in black, along with a Wii U stand, a gamepad stand, a gamepad charging cradle (you plug in the ac adapter in the cradle and you place the gamepad in the cradle to charge it), the game Nintendoland, as well as the deluxe digital promotion, which allows you to earn 10% back in points on any content purchased on the eShop (for example, a $59.99 game will get you 599 points). You can then use those points as eShop credit for any other purchase (500 points gets you $5). The Deluxe Set is $349.99

Accessories
The Wii U is compatable with all Wii controllers and accessories (Wii Remotes, Wii Remote Plus (has Wii Motion Plus built in), Nunchuck, Classic Controller, Classic Controller Pro, Wii Balance Board, Wii Motion Plus adapter). If it's just you and your kids, I would recommend 2 Wii Remote Plus controllers and 2 Nunchuck controllers. The Wii U also has a pro controller which comes in black or white. When choosing games, look on the back of the case to see what controllers are compatable. I would recommend getting 2 of them. I would also recommend an external hard drive if you like downloading games through the eShop.

In short, I would get 2 Wii Remote Plus controllers, 2 Nunchucks, and 2 Pro Controllers. I would also recommend the Deluxe Wii U, but if the Basic set is the only one you can find, that works too. If you like downloading games, I would get an external hard drive, prefferably one with an external power source. Hopefully this was helpful.

#154336 Locked out of Miiverse!

I will say that Nintendo does a lot of wonky things, but what you are complaining about is a standard practice everywhere. If you continue to make an attempt to login an account over a select given time (Some account based systems have different X amount of times) then the system locks attempts to login for a select amount of time. This is a form of account protection.

Your best bet would be finding the "Forgot my password" option and getting an e-mail for instructions on how to obtain a new password and/or a temporary password to be able to access your account once again.
