I'm worried the console is dead because it's been out a whole 5 months now, nearly.

It's only got what? 30 games?

The eShop has too many sales, I can never spend enough money in it.

And Nintendo are so quiet about what's coming out over the course of the year, we don't know that monolith is working on a game called X, we don't know there's a new 3D Mario game coming out, we don't know Mario Kart will be at e3, we won't be getting screenshots of Smash Bros., we don't have anything about Zelda remakes or original games, and all they've shown is a yoshi game, like anyone cares about yoshi.

It's dead,m give it up now.

So now that "Real time Wreck It Ralph" Kid can make his game

First... who cares about the PS4. It's like getting excited about buying a 3 year old computer. My money is on the Xbox 720 if anything. At least Microsoft tries to innovate.

 

Second... Let's go through some of the "Wii U" saving games you mentioned:

 

Yoshi's Yarn - Oh wow Nintendo, another Yoshi platformer. Haven't seen that before

Wind Waker HD - Oh wow Nintendo, bringing a gamecube game to the HD world! Way to innovate.

A new 3D Mario Game! - Is this 1996?

Mario Kart U - Do I even need to say anything?

Smash Bros 4 - Stop it with the sequels... PLEASE

 

The same old tired franchises being used OVER and OVER again which are basically cliché’s of themselves.

 

If this is your idea of Nintendo's saving grace... then you are in for a rude awakening.

ok I understand your PS4 point, but I really want to remain neutral on other consoles right now. 

 

Yarn Yoshi: Oh Wow! Nintendo is FINALLY giving us a new Yoshi Platformer. Haven't seen that since 1997!

 

LoZ Windwaker: Oh wow! Nintendo is pulling out all the stops and pushing the Zelda series in their next new installment that they felt the need to give us a gamecube game rebuilt from the ground up in a new art style they were experimenting with. Clearly this means they are taking the long-term innovation of the series seriously.

 

A New 3D Mario Game: oh wait we really have only had 5 of those ever dating back to 1996 Each of which (minus 3D Land) brought something very unique to the table (counting the galaxy games as one) and hae been released at least a few years apart (cough Assassin's Creed/Call of Duty)

 

Mariokart: Ok yeah, step it up here a little bit Nintendo. If this game is supposed to be one that we keep coming back to over the course of the console cycle them give us new reasons to play it and make it feel more polished than Mariokart 7. I am curious to see what they can do with it in HD.

 

Smash Bros 4: cuz no other fighting game in the history of ever has had a sequel (Mortal Combat 9, Tekken 6, Soul Caliber V, Street Fighter (whatever number we are on now)

 

what happened to X, Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei, Pikmin 3, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed 4 (yeah I bashed the series earlier, but it sells so it works for this argument), Bayonetta 2, Injustice, Call of Duty 2013? Because you know there are so many more of those 5... YEAH ONLY 5!! old rehashed games compared to the 8 I just mentioned here 

This is the narrative the games media is attempting to create, as amply demonstrated, they will even blatantly lie and make things up to ensure nintendo 'stays in its place'.

Wii U is not doomed. Grow up. it has sold more in it's first 4 months than the PS3 and Xbox360, and it's sales rose in the UK by 125%.

 

Not to mention heaps of games are coming out the second half of this year.

Unfortunately, that is very true.
Nintendo owners complain that they don`t get good 3rd party support, but when they do, not everything fits their tastes and most of the times they will just buy it for another console.

 

On topic:

When it comes to consoles, nothing is written in stone: the core market belonged to Nintendo once. Then it lost it to Sega and then Sony. Then Sony lost part of it to MS.

And seeing this past generation doesn`t really have a precedent, no one can really know how things will unfold.

 

As GameCollector put it: it`s all about the waiting game.

you people are comparing a brand new console that has 20+ games in its current library and little to no advertisement, to 2 other consoles that have been around for 6 years that have a library 50 times that of Wiiu... .............. you see what im getting at here    -.-'

Uhh....dude. The PS4 and 720 are not a huge leap over the Wii U.

not anything noticeable for the most part anyway.

 

on an early dev kit this just shows what we will be seeing on wii u very soon

and pretty good on Nintendo's side when compared to this-

 

because that's on final ps4 hardware
