#204607 Frostbite Technical Director on why Frostbite never came to Wii U

Posted by Dragon on 06 May 2013 - 08:55 PM

LOL He will never respond to that. EA & D.I.C.E. are flip-flopping. First is to keep from "stretching too thin." Now it's because they say Frostbite 2 wasn't promising on Wii U.

They couldn't make it any more obvious.

Internal wifi, Web Browser, eShop, etc.

It's just a DS with extra features.

Why would you hope it's photoshop?

I'm glad to see this news. I'll definitely get the Wii U version.

#190717 SYSTEM SELLERS GAMES FOR THE WII U

Posted by Dragon on 06 April 2013 - 03:15 AM

Awwwwwww, I'd love Mincraft on the Wii U, it's too bad Microsoft have the rights for console exclusivity at the moment, I wonder how long that lasts........

I'm almost positive it ends in May.

I want to go on it so badly, apparantly for one night during the Titanic II's maiden voyage they will be stopping over where the original sank in memorial, that will be a very sad and happy moment all at once I think, many flowers will be thrown overboard then I think.

Amazing. I couldn't imagine how sad it will be when that happens. The Titanic never would have sunk if it could have turned better or hit the iceberg head on.

Thankfully, due to the modern technology, the chances of hitting an iceberg with the new one are very slim. So a disaster like this will probably never happen again. The Azipod propellers help with the turning A LOT.

Oh yeah I know that Dragon, but you know this is a very special occasion, you would think an exception could be made, I mean that's where she came from, it's where she should be built again :)

China is definitely a horrible choice. They could have at least used a Finnish ship builder. A lot of modern ships are made in Finland.

I plan to eventually go to Belfast just to see the old dry dock and museum. Titanic and her sisters are a great piece of history. If only I had the money to go deep sea diving into the Britannic....

I'm so happy this is happening it gives a chance for the Titanic to finish the voyage it never got to finish, alot of the relatives of the people who were on the original feel that way too. Here's a fun little fact the original was supoosed to be in commission for six years and then it would have been put in a museum, this one from what I've heard will finish the maiden voyage and then go to a museum. The only thing I don't agree with is this one bieng built in China for the cheap labour, IT SHOULD be built in Belfast where the first one was, the ship yard the original Titanic was built in is still there.

Yeah, I don't agree with them building it in China. But the company who built the original ships (Harland & Wolff) do not build anymore. Their ship yard is basically a giant museum.

Here is the dry dock where the Titanic, Olympic & Britannic once set:

The dry dock is the place where they put those gigantic propellers on:

Originally revealed last year after the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, there have plans to re-build the Titanic with some modernization. Clive Palmer, an Australian Billionaire, is the one funding the operation.

This ship will be built in China and set sail to Southampton, England for its maiden voyage.

This video will detail everything about it:

I will be going to New York City and watching as it arrives in port.

#190665 Guys, knock it off.

Seriously.  I have always thought that Xbox Live just has more bells and whistles than the other free online services of it's competitors and it should since you are paying for it.  However, to say that MS is innovative because of Live is total BS.  Innovative and rehash are the two most over used words in the video game industry.

You SHOULD NOT have to pay for Xbox LIVE. Steam does everything Xbox LIVE does for free.

#190245 Guys, knock it off.

Xbox Live is the standard in online gaming. Sony and Nintendo are trying desperately to catch up.

Kinect - Say what you want about it, but a hands free motion sensor is being used in everything from TV's to computers now. Sony tried to rip off the Wii and failed miserably.

Just to name a few area's as of late.

I'm sure some people do enjoy them, but it's time to start demanding some more new IP's from Nintendo because third party support is going to be next to non-existant.

I own an Xbox 360. Xbox LIVE doesn't have anything on it that really puts itself above the other 2 besides cross-game chat. I honestly feel like $60 goes to waste each year JUST so I can play with friends online.

As for Kinect, it's just a more advanced EyeToy.

First... who cares about the PS4. It's like getting excited about buying a 3 year old computer. My money is on the Xbox 720 if anything. At least Microsoft tries to innovate.

Second... Let's go through some of the "Wii U" saving games you mentioned:

Yoshi's Yarn - Oh wow Nintendo, another Yoshi platformer. Haven't seen that before

Wind Waker HD - Oh wow Nintendo, bringing a gamecube game to the HD world! Way to innovate.

A new 3D Mario Game! - Is this 1996?

Mario Kart U - Do I even need to say anything?

Smash Bros 4 - Stop it with the sequels... PLEASE

The same old tired franchises being used OVER and OVER again which are basically cliché’s of themselves.

If this is your idea of Nintendo's saving grace... then you are in for a rude awakening.

First...

I care about the PS4. And where exactly has Microsoft been innovating at? I must have missed it.

Second...

Yoshi's Yarn: I personally don't care for it. But there are probably a lot of people looking forward to it.

Wind Waker HD: Who said it was for the sake of innovation? A lot of people are waiting for an HD Zelda, and this is a filler.

The New 3D Mario: No, it is not 1996. People still love and look forward to Mario games.

Mario Kart U: No, you don't need to say anything. Refer to the new Mario game explanation.

Super Smash Bros. 4: Nintendo will continue to make sequels to their popular franchises if people still want them.

Your single opinion doesn't affect the fact that these franchises REALLY help Nintendo. What do you think has kept them alive since the N64?

As for being rehashes.... You do make a point. But that doesn't stop them from being enjoyable to some people.

Nintendo just needs some new killer IPs. They haven't made a new killer IP in years.
