#89394 Wii U News Forum

Posted by AMAC on 22 June 2012 - 05:09 AM

I'd rather have the Introduction section at the top once the E3 section is removed, as having it there will hopefully encourage more new members to take the time to introduce themselves. Members aren't able to post in the news section, so I don't think putting it at the top would benefit the forum.

#84813 What Games Do You Want That Are Either Launch or Launch Window Games?

Posted by AMAC on 05 June 2012 - 10:45 PM

NSMBU would be the only definite purchase for me at the moment, although I'd also be interested in getting Pikmin 3, Wii Fit U, Assassin's Creed III and ZombiU. Nintendo Land is a game I might get, but it wouldn't be a first choice.

#83691 New Wii U Pro Controller unveiled by Iwata

It looks like it will be more comfortable to hold than the last controller and it looks nicer too, IMO. The fact that it's wireless is also a bonus.

#83196 AMAC I'm calling you out.

If you want to talk to me about something like this, you should do it through a PM, rather than casting a thread about it.

#70814 Commercial of a racing game filmed in Germany

Posted by AMAC on 09 April 2012 - 04:52 AM

If this is true, I think the most likely explanation is an F1 2012 game for the Wii U. I can't see Sebastian Vettel filming a trailer for any other racing game and the only game his proper F1 car would appear in would be an F1 game. It doesn't sound like the most reliable source though, so I'm taking it with a grain of salt.

#69962 Dislike Button or Disagree System

Posted by AMAC on 06 April 2012 - 12:59 PM

The problem with a dislike button is that it's a feature which can easily be abused and there is the risk of some members being offended if their posts received dislikes. As far as I'm aware, IP.Board doesn't have a dislike button feature anyway.

As for trolls/spammers, the simplest way to deal with them is simply to use the report button and one of the moderating team will deal with it.

The problem with allowing such discussions though, is that it can easily lead to discussing piracy and other things which definitely are illegal as it's not entirely clear exactly what is and isn't legal. Because of that, it's easier to simply prohibit any discussion of grey-zone material.

#67381 People that said Wii U at the Wii launch

There doesn't seem to beans point to this thread. As a result, it's been locked.

#66703 So whats gonna happen with WiiU sites when wii u comes out?

Posted by AMAC on 17 March 2012 - 10:02 AM

What exactly do you mean by "what's going to happen"? If you mean will the sites be closed or abandoned, then the answer is nothing. Wii U Go should continue to be updated with the latest Wii U news and the forums will hopefully continue to be the biggest and best Wii U community around. ;)

#65768 KONY campaign discussion

Posted by AMAC on 11 March 2012 - 10:51 AM

The video is very well made and effective, but I do have doubts about the credibility of the campaign. As others have said, Kony hasn't been active in Ugnada for some time and the Ugandan government aren't exactly angels either. I'm also struggling to see how donating money will help stop Kony. The campaign has raised plenty of awareness now, so donating more money isn't going to gain much more publicity.

#58356 Pro Pizza! >:D Forum take over! Muahahahah

Posted by AMAC on 29 January 2012 - 03:01 AM

I don't think a topic is really necessary for this announcement, so this thread is being locked. As for the 100 posts milestone, you shouldn't worry about increasing your post count, but just post because you want to discuss topics.

#54541 Will Nintedo Grow Up!

Posted by AMAC on 15 January 2012 - 09:27 AM

No offence, but I'm not that keen on your ideas. The Legend of Zelda would lose a lot of its magic if it was simply dragons, warlords and giant spiders. As for Mario, he's a plumber, not a mafia leader and I'd rather that didn't change. Both of these series have millions of fans, most of whom would be against these changes. Although Nintendo want to attract core gamers to the Wii U, they also want the Wii U to appeal to casual gamers and kids. I'm all for more mature titles on the Wii U, but I don't think they should replace Nintendo's current IPs.

#53608 Sony or Microsoft will be done making consoles!

Posted by AMAC on 11 January 2012 - 11:46 PM

I can't see either Sony or Microsoft leaving the console market anytime soon. They've both made lots of money from their consoles, even if they have struggled recently, and both companies are big enough to continue for some time despite making losses. I don't really want any of them to stop making consoles, but I wouldn't shed any tears if Sony or Microsoft did.

#53405 Are You Getting the PS Vita?

Posted by AMAC on 11 January 2012 - 01:24 PM

I like how people constantly criticise Sony for a lack of innovation, yet when they come out with the touch pad on the back of the Vita - something which I'd call innovation - it's instantly written off as a gimmick. IMO, it's too early to judge whether it'll be a success or not. I think it's a decent idea, and I expect developers will find some pretty cool uses for it.
