Just finished tf, all I have to say is it's a platforming master piece.

#276645 An idea just crossed my mind

A great way to get friends really interested is to invite them over to play. Some friends never gave the Wii U a chance from the get go but once they have played it, their mindset changed. I know of one friend who picked up one over the holidays and another considering it this summer. Host a gaming party, let people experience what the Wii U offers, there is quite a library of games to showoff what makes the system appealing.

Retro has made the best DKC game of all time in TF, I believe. But who knows what 90s Rare could have done with the capabilities of Wii U. I feel fortunate to have experienced them all while they were new.

Is it actually true that microsoft thought they were going to get DK when they bought rare?

As for the OP, yeah Tropical Freeze is probably the best DK so far. I would actually welcome a third in a few years after Retro worked on something else.

It was a definite buy for me. But now i'm not sure. Even if the game is good, I might just not buy it because buck them.

#275011 Waluigi disconfirmed (once and for all) as playable for Smash Bros. 4.

Pic of the day. Once again, Waluigi's Assist Trophy joins the collection!! …Which also means he's not a playable character. Just because you try hard doesn't mean you'll make it into the battle.

Are you 100% sure about that?

#274394 Wii U's Memory Bandwidth, GPU More Powerful Than We Thought?

Posted by Merky Water on 23 February 2014 - 11:11 PM

While I believe the Wii U can handle more than Nintendo's being given credit for, this article really does say nothing but hypotheticals.  Of course, since plenty of propaganda with similar basis is readily distributed on the internet, just with anti-Wii U sentiments instead, I could see how it would seem to some a good thing to now see some pro-Wii U.  But I personally would rather no conjecture... either way.  I'd much rather let the systems stand as they are and leave the proof in the pudding.  If gamers enjoy it, then they play it.  But the war of words and continued console war trying to disuade gamers from trying their competition is a sad thing.  When that war continues at the gamer level, an even sadder state.  But it's in the console developers best interest to perpetuate this.  As gamers, we should be enjoying the various products.  If we do, there should be room for any good console or game that rolls around.

The game is basically Donkey Kong Country Returns in HD with a different name and different enemies

I agree to an extent but the way you put it makes it sound like its just a rehash of an overused franchise (like New Super Mario Bros.)

The new levels, new enemies, and new characters make the game feel fresh. That, and also the fact that this is only the second donkey kong country we've had in the 21st century.

I think it is a brilliant game and I agree with Gamexplain that it is the best game on Wii U so far. It is just so much fun.

#272797 Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze (Wii U): 5/10 from Gamespot

Posted by Scumbag on 16 February 2014 - 03:22 AM

Not gonna mention the fact Gamespot has some weird vendetta against Nintendo or even good games for that matter, oh well I just did.

Gamespot's reviews have always been irrelevant to me.

#271748 DKC: Tropical Freeze has some TERRIBLE loading times.

Posted by TheUltimateWaddleDee on 11 February 2014 - 07:44 PM

not exactly an excuse, but I'm sure this is because it's Nintendo's largest game to date at 12GB. I could see this being fixed via a patch.

Fixed.

#271549 Watch dogs wii u delayed

Posted by Aplg8 on 10 February 2014 - 02:46 PM

People not buying games because of annoyance that games don't come out, get delayed etc... are missing the point. If you stop buying their games, they will stop making their games for the console you own. You need to show support by purchasing their games, all you do when refusing to buy a game based on the company that made it is proving their point.

People are not missing the point and your approach to this is not how I as a consumer look at things.  Missing a launch date is one thing, but perpetually missing dates indicates lack of true support.  I'm a consumer, not a sheep.  Take what you can get is not something I do.

#271120 owning a wiiu is fun but buying it is a disaster

Posted by Captain Marvelous on 08 February 2014 - 09:01 AM

I bought the wii u because of X and bayonetta 2....and even if the console is struggling, the truth is when thie Wii u era ends, the console will have a excellent library wtih or without 3thparty help....

Im happy with my choice i dont regret, since buying a wii u doesnt mean i will not buy a ps4 or a Xbox One, so its all cool

EA are great, I was playing bf4 when it bugged out and I was like "fantastic ea! I just needed to go to work right then!" They are the best at interpreting our needs. :)
