7:20

Neal Ronaghan:
PacMan looks fun to play as. lots of goofy animations. Sakurai started the match by taunting as PacMan

Michael "TYP" Cole:
Pacmay have a triple up bmove.

7:21

7:22

Neal Ronaghan:

7:23

Neal Ronaghan:
like the Mii Fighters, each character has 12 special variations.

7:23

Michael "TYP" Cole:
You can select amongst 3 moves for each special attack slot

7:23

Neal Ronaghan:
Mario has a fireball, a fast fireball, and a fire orb. not usable in For Glory

7:24

Neal Ronaghan:
Palutena is different. she has unique special attacks; not derivative

7:24

Neal Ronaghan:
Characters can equip items that increase attack, defense and speed. but there are checks and balances

7:25

Michael "TYP" Cole:
Equipment also modifies characters by adjusting their balance.

7:25

Neal Ronaghan:
Make a character quicker but then they are weaker

Neal Ronaghan:
FYI TYP and I are both typing. we might have overlap. its okay though. more perspectives :)

7:27

Michael "TYP" Cole:
You can change clothing if your mii! Each fighter type has its own wardrobe to select from.

7:28

Neal Ronaghan:
Sakurai joking about character requests from fans

7:29

Neal Ronaghan:
You can make Reggie, Elijah Wood, and Ice T. Ice T and Elijah Wood were asked.

7:29

Neal Ronaghan:
Mii Fighters cannot be used in With Anyone mode online. can be used With Friends.

7:29

Michael "TYP" Cole:
Mii fighters cannot be used in non-friend matches when online.

7:30

Michael "TYP" Cole:
Reiterates that all fighters are on both versions of the game.

7:30

Neal Ronaghan:
Talking 3DS version. characters are same on both. unique stages though.

7:30

Neal Ronaghan:

you can carry customized characters through Wii U and 3DS

7:30

Neal Ronaghan:
Smash Run is easier to acquire unique items.

7:31

Neal Ronaghan:
Talking amiibo

7:31

Michael "TYP" Cole:
Smash Run is designed to help collect items/upgrades. These can be transferred to the Wii U game.

7:32

Michael "TYP" Cole:
FO stands for Figure Player. Users do not control them.

7:33

Neal Ronaghan:
figurines show up as FP (figure player) and are computer controlled. they can level up to 50. will learn your tendencies. better than level 9 cpus

Neal Ronaghan:
Sakurai is picking Donkey Kong for Smash Run. he is playing it.

7:37

Neal Ronaghan:
Just saying, both versions of the game look and play great. This looks to be worth the wait everyone

7:38

Michael "TYP" Cole:
You pick up powers that you can use in battle via the touch screen.

7:38

Michael "TYP" Cole:
There is a jet pack item. Sweet.

7:40

Michael "TYP" Cole:
Warp lets you jump to a different area of the map in smash run.

7:42

Neal Ronaghan:
Reiterating: we can't take photos.

7:44

Neal Ronaghan:
Smash Run can end with a regular battle, a throwing contest or a running contest

7:44

Michael "TYP" Cole:
The final battle of snash run is random. It could be a standard battle or something odd like who can throw items the farthest

7:45

Neal Ronaghan:
Q&A time!

7:45

Michael "TYP" Cole:

They are opening the floor to questions

7:45

Neal Ronaghan:
First question: why would you want to release the different versions far apart?

7:45

Michael "TYP" Cole:
Q: Why would you want to release the 2 games mo's apart

7:46

Michael "TYP" Cole:
Sakurai cites need for debugging

7:46

Neal Ronaghan:
Biggest reason is debug process. it is a really big game. They need several hundred testers and splitting the release gives them more time to space it out

7:47

Michael "TYP" Cole:
The debug teamis large and cannot handle both games in parallel, and they want to give both games their full concentration

7:47

Michael "TYP" Cole:
Q: why are character tansformations removed?

7:48

Michael "TYP" Cole:
A: we want people to focus on single characters more deeply

7:48

Neal Ronaghan:
Q3: any plans for the competitive scene moving forward?

7:48

Michael "TYP" Cole:
Q: what plans does Ninty have for the smash tourney scene?

#288032 Suggestion for this year's E3 forum

Posted by Zinix on 03 June 2014 - 06:02 PM

Yeah I think we should do sub forums for the three big companies (and maybe Ubisoft and whatever else there is?...)

Then the members can make a thread for the new games (but only one per game) and discuss them all in one topic instead of making ten different ones for one game.

EA. Think of the lulz man!

#287737 Wii U hardware sales up 666% in UK

Posted by Zinix on 02 June 2014 - 07:59 AM

Mario Kart 8, meanwhile, turned up comfortably in second place. Nintendo's racer earned the company its biggest Wii U game launch in the UK to date, and the second best launch for a Mario Kart title ever in the UK.

#287667 Resident Evil insiders says next game at E3, won't be RE7, more like Reve...

Not linking to the source for the pics because NGG will throw a fit. But anyway, I've followed NewsBot for a few years and this guy knows his stuff; he's got reliable hook ups, regularly does interview with old RE staff and collectively knows more about the franchise than any single person who's ever worked on it.

Anyway, his hints are intriguing:
-Game WILL be at E3
-His winking face at "certain" fans being happy lends me to believe this won't be 20 Michael Bay movies stitched together like RE6 was. Honestly at this point I'll just settle for another thoughtfully produced, fully cohesive game with strong pacing. It doesn't even have to be a full return-to-roots thing (impossible as it is anyway). Also, since it's going to be a subtitled entry instead of a numbered one, I imagine it will follow more closely to Revelations than RE6 anyway.
-Three returning characters, all of whom haven't been seen in a new game in at least ten years or have never actually made an active appearance

#287613 E3 2014: Big Third Party Xbox One Exclusive

Posted by Zinix on 01 June 2014 - 11:56 AM

What's the hottest E3 2014 rumor you have heard so far, The Last Guardian re-reveal, Agent for PS4? for us its "Big Third Party Xbox One Exclusive" and most of you will agree with us. We have heard this from almost all insider sources such as Shinobi, Ahsan Rasheed aka Thuway and Tidux, even an anonymous but credible source close to GameSpot said this same thing. Furthermore, these insider sources has provided an update that this third party Xbox One exclusive is not Resident Evil, Mass Effect, or Red Dead Redemption.

If true, this really is a bold move from Microsoft and that third party publisher/developer considering the fact that Sony's Playstation 4 is leading consoles sales against Xbox One by a margin of over million units.

It'll be Half Life 3 and everyone will scream and cheer.

#287461 What do you guys think about Iwata?

Posted by Zinix on 31 May 2014 - 01:57 PM

He's out of touch with what gamers want. He thinks giving the same old Mario 2.5D and Donkey Kong 2D platformers will satisfy us for months when we really want a 3D world Mario game and 3D Donkey Kong game.

He needs a successor and should be demoted to Vice President of Nintendo of Japan .

#286980 4chan convinces reporter that Elliot Rodger was addicted to creatine

A friend of “virgin killer” Elliot Rodger has revealed he was addicted to a muscle-building supplement, which could have triggered his anger before his shooting rampage.

Chris Akin, a friend of Rodger, told the Mirror that the Isla Vista murderer started taking the supplement creatine after a mutual friend died in a bodybuilding accident while trying to lift a 550-pound weight.
Akin, who used to Skype regularly with Rodger, 22, said he observed a change in his attitude after he began allegedly taking the drug daily.
Akin, who lives in Chicago, told the Mirror that Rodger was trying to build muscle mass to attract girls and get over his grief from losing his close friend.
While not illegal or a steroid, creatine, an organic acid which is “typically bought in flavored powders and mixed with liquid — increases the body’s ability to produce energy rapidly. With more energy, you can train harder and more often, producing faster results,” Men’sHealth.com reports. It can also be bought and consumed in tablet form.
Side effects of creatine can include “weight gain, muscle cramps, muscle strains and pulls, stomach upset, diarrhea, dizziness, high blood pressure, liver dysfunction, and kidney damage,” according to the University of Maryland Medical Center.
It is also understood that it can cause mood swings and depression. Bodybuilders have reported getting angry easily and hyper in online forums on the Bodybuilding.com website, where Rodger regularly contributed.

#286513 Windows 9 rumored to be in alpha stage. Possible release in 2015.

Posted by Zinix on 25 May 2014 - 08:18 AM

what new things are we going to see in Windows 9?

The leaked document shows that the cloud-based Windows 365 is currently in alpha stage. Reports suggest that it will be a subscription version, where users will get the core OS for free but they will have to pay for additional features. The native Windows 9 is also in the alpha stage. It will bring a number of updates including one user experience, cloud services, changes to the Metro UI, OneDrive, system protection with Windows Defender, and enhanced Windows activation.

Another interesting thing is that the personal assistant Cortana is also coming to Windows 9. These changes and new features suggest that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is addressing most of the complaints resulting from Windows 8. Besides these features, the new version is likely to re-introduce the much-loved Start Menu. Anyway, the Office 2015 is no longer in the alpha stage. The document shows its status as TP-CP1, which means Technical Preview and Consumer Preview 1. It indicates that we may soon see a public preview of the Office 2015.
