Well electro house in general used to be a lot closer to progressivem since it was a house derivitive as well. Unfortunately those days are gone :(

Some proof: 

 

Wish people still made electro like this :(

Times change lol. People crave heavy dance floor style music now. So they prefere music with drops rather than music that lets you enjoy slow layering and building complexity.


So I don't know why I haven't showed this off until now considering I've had it for a good year and a half now, but I actually have a deadmau5 head XD

That would be fun! :D I'll have to do some remixes of you guys' stuff someday...

 

Anyways, here's that dubstep (?) song in all it's somewhat finished glory...

 

 

Took me about 15 hours over the past 13 days... Can't believe my computer stayed on for that long. :P Also, here's a picture of the project.

Sounds really nice. What wavetable is it though? I am looking into creating a reese bass at the moment and your bass sounds somewhat like I want my reese to do.

 

Also, Chaos, you can just send your FLP as it is if you want.

Ok lol. I'll send the flp and the drums and such that I used. For some reason the midis I tried making kept corrupting so I've been trying to figure that out.

Ok... so I tried to master my own song (tried). It doesn't have any clipping, but since I'm not experienced with this kind of stuff at all, I need some other opinions on whether or not I did it correctly.

Edit: Elric, you still haven't found me like you wanted to. So I'll give you two hints. The first is this picture. The second is that I'm going to be attending the Art Institute of Colorado starting in October. Oh... I should probably mention that security at the Art Institute won't let you passed the first floor unless you are a student there or you have permission :P

So... I finished the song (I might need to remove the ending part, but that's no big deal.) The only problem is that it's so over the top that FLS crashes when I try to render it lol. So there is a possibility that I'll either have to render it in a lower quality instead of 320kbps or somehow wait until I get a better laptop that can handle the amount of ram it takes to render this file.


HAAAAA! IT RENDERED! I just needed to cut off the last 30 seconds (which was too upbeat anyway). And then close down every other program.

 

So here is a screen shot of the whole composition...

So for the most part, I don't plan on changing anything. Just need to know if there are any minor details that I might have missed. I tried to keep it sounding slightly empty so that if I send it in to get mastered it will sound better in the end. Also, make sure to tell me about how out of key the bass is :P

Could you say something about this track as a whole? Mostly finished the arrangement now.

 

 

I am looking for honest feedback. Like how does this compare to other electro tracks and my other songs (I try to make something better than Invaders which many tell me is my best song).

 

My friend told me it's a little bit bland/boring. I can't tell if it's true since I've put 23 hours of constant editing on this song which makes me unable to know if it's good or not.

 

I am trying to set a little higher standard on my tracks from now.

It's really good. Like really good. It stands up to a lot of other electro tracks I think. A lot of electro focuses on the bass during the drop, but I really love how this one doesn't emphasize that. I don't really see it as bland. It has high energy and a good balance on frequencies. For 23 hours, this is awesome!

Lol I was expecting a little longer, but it's pretty nice. I'm too lazy to learn modulation and such for growls and talking basses. I prefer the straight forwardness of progressive house :P

I mean yeah, honestly I'm not super into more mainstream melbourne/big room, that kinda stuff. So I'm probably not the best person to critique you. :P

 

I mean, it's obvious you're good at production. It sounds professional and all that jazz. But again, it's a little too big roomy for me. And I know I'm terrible at this, but it could use a little more variation.

 

All in all though, I just enjoy other genres like dubstep and glitch hop more. I'd really like to hear some of that from you. :3

Oh, since you like glitch hop so much, I'll show you my absolute favorite glitch hop song.

 

I actually started playing League of Legends because of this song XD

If I may ask you guys... How did you come up with your names? I'm just really unhappy with VAX. It just feels lifeless or something.

Well Chaos was what I named my Runescape character a looooooong time ago, and then I started naming everything Chaoskeleton, and then I started trying to get the name Chaos everywhere else because I really like gamertags and things like that that don't have numbers because it means that they have the original name.

And it's also a personality thing, because I like being mischievous :P

 

As for Double Tap, it's because I like zombie games and it's a nod to the movie Zombieland.

So here is a new teaser that I threw together in like 30ish minutes. I'm playing around with a sliding bass thingy if you can't tell.

 

 

 

Also I have edited my previous track a little more. Hopefully it's better this time. It's hard to know now because my headphones are starting to break.
