#220400 Why people say Wii U is "current gen", and why they're complete d...

Posted by NintendoReport on 12 June 2013 - 12:42 PM

not trying to troll just VERY dissapointed gamer and nintendo fan,wii u is in NO way next gen, nintendo showed what they have at e3 and it fell well under par imo :(

I can accept your opinion that you didn't like what Nintendo did at e3, but I don't think it's a good idea to throw the Wii U under the bus and call it "last gen".

Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, X and some of the other titles have things going on in game that simply wasn't possible last gen. Not just on Wii, but on PS360.

#222702 Pachter: If Wii U lacks 3rd-party support after the holidays, Stick A folk in it

The funny thing is he kept bashing the 3DS and the 3DS is like the best selling handheld of all time, lol. Why doesn't he bash the PS Vita? No one cares for that thing anymore :P

#221834 Iwata: more unannounced third party titles will come

Posted by Keviin on 14 June 2013 - 02:09 PM

Yep. It took me... years. I'm talking since the beginning of this crap back durring the N64's popularity to finally get it, but I now know it to be true. The denial is over and my faith in Nintendo is lost. They've lost touch with gamers and are unable to support 3rd party developers.

Game over, Nintendo. You've lost me. I can't believe your lies anymore and the Wii U is the last concole of yours I buy on launch day. Next time around I'm just going to wait until you prove yourselves to me. Sorry. Just the way it is now.

...And I've been a loyal fan of Nintendo since the NES. Sad times.

lol

I enjoy my Wii better than my 360. Some people will never be statisfied.

If capcom would invest in the Wii U, it would be the perfect system.

The two companies are a perfect fit and even their formulaic gameplay styles are perfect for each other.

Mega Man, Street fighter, Versus, Dragons Dogma, Ace Attorney, Resident Evil, Bionic Commando, Darkstalkers, DMC, Ghouls n' ghosts, Lost Planet, etc.

It would be like having Rare back.  Only better. They have got exceptional programming and artistic talent nowadays.  would be nice to see that translate to Wii U.

The type of games shown for Wii U remind me of a golden Age of gaming.  Where everything looks surreal and amazing and FUN! like games are supposed to be.  Then there is a mix of some serious (X), some stealth (Splinter Cell) some plain weird (Bayonetta), and some goofy (Wonderful 101).

the mix of wii U games just "feels" right.

Capcom is getting better while EA is getting way worse.

#221951 Microsoft is confirmed for TGS

Posted by magiciandude on 14 June 2013 - 05:34 PM

It also has Final Fantasy 15 and Kingdom Hearts 3, but how many people are going to get an Xbox 1 for those games?

I still don't understand the inclusion of KH3. Unless MS bribed SE (likely scenario), it's gonna bomb hard on the X1. JRPGs don't do well on Xbox consoles and MS screwed over their fanbase. It would've made a lot more sense on the Wii U as the multiplat.

#221528 If Sony and Nintendo merged.

Nintendo and Sega merging would be interesting. It would be called Nintega.

There isn't a need for the merge though. Usually, companies merge to save themselves from doom.

And currently none of the big three need to.

In Japan microsoft games don't sell very well

This. Why even bother when your system doesn't have games that don't appeal to Japanese gamers except maybe Metal Gear Solid V?

#221895 Why should I buy animal crossing new leaf?

Posted by Colinx on 14 June 2013 - 03:53 PM

The game is actually $35. It's truly a must-buy for the system, if you've never played before and you lack knowledge of the series. It will make the game more endearing for you because there is a lot more to discover and it feels very charming. This game pretty much is the ultimate relaxation game so if your looking for fast pace, then this may not be a game for you. It's the "perfect casual game." There is actually no "mini-games" that are like flash games. It's about fishing, digging fossils, planting trees(and so much other stuff I really couldn't list) and selling this stuff for money to build up your house and town or you can donate stuff to the museum to show off to your friends. Might not sound fun on the surface, but after a while it gets addicting! Sometimes there will be events for holidays like finding stuff or sometimes your neighbors may invite you to a game of hide and seek. The only real mini-games are the ones are on the island which are really fun to play with friends online, while those mini-games really don't represent the actual game play in terms of pacing.

This game will easily out last other games on this system, you could probably get more then 200+ hours of this game over the years. It really depends. The determining factor for you would be, if you're patient enough to play the game because building community projects, getting some characters and getting all your neighbors can take a week. About 2-3 weeks in the game really starts getting good, but I don't think that should detract you from buying this phenomenal game.

#221899 Why should I buy animal crossing new leaf?

No one will ever understand the appeal of Animal Crossing by just watching gameplay trailers. You need to actually play it to truly experience it. Videos make it look boring and repetitive. The appeal (to me) is that it is a great time waster and just entirely relaxing. It's very hard to put it into words...
