You'll probably have a bit of a wank, I guess.

I don't know how this console is selling, it has no quality software worth buying. I guess advertising is more important than games.

  1. inFAMOUS: Second Son
  2. Assassin's Creed IV
  3. Need for Speed: Rivals
  4. Skylanders Swapforce
  5. Killzone: Shadow Fall
  6. Resogun
  7. Steamworld Dig
  8. Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition
  9. Flower
  10. Flow
  11. Rayman Legends
  12. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
  13. Final Fantasy 14
  14. Warframe
  15. Dynasty Warriors 8

And that's just currently released stuff that I can think of. Over the Summer/Fall, it's getting Destiny, Arkham Knight, Assassin's Creed Unity, Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor, The Crew, Driveclub, Wolfenstein: The New Order, and Dying Light among others.

And surprise! Not one of those is coming to Wii U at time of this post.

#264034 Sony: We're more committed to new IP than other platform holders

Posted by Gamejunkie on 30 December 2013 - 10:23 AM

Or maybe you only frequent sites that are clearly Sony biased? How do you know more people like it than not? There are no official polls and nothing to go by. You're just making assumptions without any credible source. Just because the game is amazing to you doesn't mean it is to everyone else. And I find the game to be a boring, meaningless piece of carp. You defend the PS4 and its crappy library of launch games just like any ordinary fanboy would. Congratulations.

I don't just frequent sites that are Sony biased. As for what you say about what I know I can say the same thing about what you say. I'm not making any assumptions and whilst my comments may not be scientific they are based on anecdotal evidence. Also I never said the game was amazing - that's just twisting words for your own good. Its by no means perfect but its far better then a lot of people give it credit for. As for defending anything I only defend when I can credibly do so and I would do so for any console manufacturer or software publisher. If anyone is a fanboy around here its clearly you.

You usually use a slice to determine the whole product. I'm not going to take a gamble on a $60 game when I didn't like what I tried, just like I wouldn't buy the full meal when I hated the free sample.

No a slice can only give you an impression not allow you to make an overall judgement.

#263402 Give your impressions on Xbone and PS4 games here

I can assure you the ps4 controller won't give you any cramps like the x1 did. Oh and I've tried both controllers and the x1 gave me fits till I just got use to it.

Well got my PS4 today and played it extensively, especially with the free games for PS Plus. Really great bang for your buck that subscription is.

I have tried the Dualshock 4 for a little while before but I feel it's the superior controller compared to Xbone. The annoying cramp I get with XBone is gone using Dualshock 4, the sticks and triggers have the perfect balance of resistance making it feel more satisfying and responsive. Xbone pad is not crap but not as good as I once thought, going back to using it's sticks and triggers feel loose and hollow.

The groove where your middle finger rests is curved more on Dualshock 4 and longer handles with better rumble are welcome. Xbone just feels too cramped and the D-Pad is the worst this gen again, I feel a revision from Microsoft coming at some point.

I know why the Xbone pad has better battery life and I dare anyone to contest this. Basically they took the rumble from 360 and moved half of them to the triggers, that's why the rumble in the pad itself is so poor.

Anyway, Battlefield 4 on PS4 has much less jaggies and aliasing due to higher res. Online just as smooth as Xbone with fewer crashes i.e picking conquest and the game sends you to domination or something.

Resogun is fun as hell, looks gorgeous and is addictive to boot. Maybe a little short, being free is a nice touch.

Warframe looks nice but doesn't play that good. Not really into it but will give it another chance online.

Trine 2. Wow. 1080p 60fps and the touch pad really shines here as does the D-Pad.

Overall, I like the new consoles (PS4 more, I admit selling my Xbone did cross my mind but won't) and look forward to their exclusives. One important thing I want to add is I think Wii U is still very relevant this gen. I can't stress enough to my friends that don't own to go and buy the damn thing especially for next year! Got my bro Mario 3d World today for Xmas and had the most fun playing co-op than any multiplayer game in a long time.

My PS4 username is Toilet_Snaker if anyone wants to add me.

If you want high-end graphics and you want the best possible hardware which you can boast about to your friends about then why would you buy either the PS4 or the Xbox One? Wouldn't it be better to either build your own gaming PC or wait for the Steam Machine to come out if you don't want to sit at a desk?

Call me close-minded, but that's just how I see it.

Most console gamers prefer PC like graphics but with console exclusive games, something PC can't compete with.

Isn't this image on Nintendo's website false advertising for MiiVerse on the 3DS?

I see an email or message icon (envelope)

Don't really enjoy hip hop to be honest. It sounded good, considering it's hip hop.

I believe what he's saying is that there shouldn't be this kind of 'standard' for how good a game is.

If you enjoy it then it's not bad. So Knack is however good you think it is. There is a set quality of Knack or anything else, it just depends on whether you enjoy it and that's all that matters.

#258262 Xbox One vs PS4 install times..the results are insane

Posted by DexterousGecko on 29 November 2013 - 01:46 PM

I'm not sure, but that sounds pretty awesome. I know Blizzard games have this cool feature where they install only the most important things first and you can start to play relatively quickly while the rest is downloaded in the background. Maybe the ps4 does something similar?

#258155 whos getting the ps4 then? :)

Posted by Gamejunkie on 28 November 2013 - 12:48 PM

Just had an email that my lovely ps4 is on its way with battlefield 4 woooo hooooo :) who else is getting one on here? and are you as hyped as me? i cant WAIT!

I'm picking mine up from GAME tomorrow. I decided not to go to the midnight launch today. I'm getting the EU/UK mega pack which includes and extra controller, the camera and a copy of Killzone. My copy of Knack should be here tomorrow from Shop To.

#257255 Diminishing returns? a quick screen shot look PS4-WiiU

Posted by Alex Atkin UK on 21 November 2013 - 04:05 AM

For starters, Ghosts looks carp even on the best PC so is the LAST game you should be comparing.

AC4, even the developer has admitted that its not much of a showcase of next-gen due to it being designed cross generation.  Plus, you used the least impressive scene of the whole game to compare AND its just been patched up to 1080p as apparently the launch version was only 900p.

The place in AC4 where you really see the difference are on the ship during a storm.  The PS4 version has a LOT more rain and you see waves washing over the deck of the ship.  Also any shot where you see the sun shining through the sails of the ship look impressive, although I'm not sure if the WiiU has that effect too I just know it looks vastly improved over current-gen on those bits.

#256865 Pikmin 3 review

Posted by NintendoReport on 18 November 2013 - 02:10 PM

I have to dismiss everything i said about this game,i just picked up another wii u ( it was CHEAP and i couldnt miss mario kart 8 when it comes out lol) this game is GREAT with very good graphics..the youtube vids ive seen of it make it look like not a far step up from the gamecube but man i was wrong....ive only done day 1 so far but the graphics are alot better than i expected and im really enjoying it...will post again when ive played a bit more :) oh i got my 32gb wii u with blops2 and pikmin 3 for £120 secondhand off a guy who wanted cash for a xbox one...i just couldnt resist at that price lol

Hey bro, glad you picked another Wii U up, 2014 has great games coming so I am looking forward to seeing you on the race track !

I agree, Pikmin 3 in person is something incredible, screens usually look great but in person even more so. Don't forget the DLC content available for it too, and inexpensive!

#256317 PS4 / Madden 25 PS4 review, by me

Posted by BrosBeforeGardenTools on 15 November 2013 - 12:01 PM

I unbox the PS4 and install the update and so far it is working. Then I play Madden 25 for PS4. I have played Madden 13 for Wii U, so I can compare the two. Madden 25 for PS4 looks nearly twice as good as the Wii U Madden, featuring realistic crowds, realistic grass, more realistic players, an overall better sharpness to the game, and more. So far, the game plays like a charm. The gameplay isn't a huge improvement over previous Madden games, and it could look just a little better given just how powerful the PS4 is, but it's certainly good enough.

My score of Madden 25 PS4: 8.9/10

Games I have for PS4 that I have yet to try: Need for Speed Rivals, NBA 2k14

My score of the PS4: too soon to say, but I'm guessing it will end up close to 9/10. It has better graphics than the Wii U, but the Wii U gamepad still adds just a little something. Perhaps that "little something" can be added to the PS4 through an Eye camera or a PS Vita hooked up to it, but I have yet to try such a thing.

Update:

I got to try the other games.

My ratings from what I have experienced:

PS4 system - 9/10
NBA 2k14 - 9/10
Madden 25 - 8.9/10
Need for Speed Rivals - 8.2/10
