#299488 How Can Nintendo Fix Third Party Support?

Posted by Mewbot on 30 September 2014 - 04:16 PM

Name-calling isn't the basis of my argument, its facts unlike yours which is 90% subjectivity.

Facts.

"If you think those games are better than Wind Waker then you're kidding yourself" - opinion

"Rayman Legends was pretty irrelevent" - opinion "and not big sales-wise" - It still sold better on the Wii U than the other versions earlier on.

"The animal crossing/splatoon team made Nintendo Land" - Splatoon is made by a new development team, created for the sole reason of creating new experiences.

"You saying all PS4 games are bad is dumb" - name-calling again "you don't own a PS4 and are going of the masses opinions" - the masses opinions are more correct then yours will ever be.

"Killzone and Destiny are way more gamer-focused than any of the Nintendo party games" - opinion.

"Nintendo more likely chose Donkey Kong because it would sell better" - Retro chose Donkey Kong, not Nintendo. They knew they had more ideas to play with for Donkey Kong, and simply didn't feel like making a Metroid game at that point in time. Had they made a Metroid game it probably would have been uninspired and boring.

"If I were to critique a game such as ZombiU you would tell me to play it myself" - ZombiU was pretty bad IMHO.

So... Facts, eh?

#299425 3DS Themes - Slideshow

Waiting to see a design that doesnt look like cluttered crap

3DS screens are too small, it's pretty hard to design a not rainbow theme on screens that small.

You know what? Its funny how big of a hypocrite you actually are. Because for a short time, Wii U's best game was Windwaker HD. It's quite clear and oblivious that when Sony was putting the PS4 out there, it was far more for a gamer than the Wii U and XBOX One. I can't believe how undeniably ignorant you are. Let's see, Sing Party U, Wii Fit U, Nintendoland, Wii Party U?? All of these development studios could have been put to far better use than just making party casual games. Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze? While Nintendo gamers wanted a Metroid Prime on Wii U so bad?

Some of the stuff you've listed is so irrelevant, Sony is a business and they will do whatever they can to shut out the competition and the reason they have is because they are the most gamer friendly ie. making sure their system actually has multiplats, exclusive content/advertisement rights. Honestly, who cares if you pay for online on the PS4 especially when it's good, unlike the Wii U's online system.

If Nintendo was mostly for the gamers, then why the hell didn't they pay to get 3rd party games on their system. Let's be clear, with Wii U.. Nintendo hasn't set any trends, its evident in the sales for the console. It's quite obvious how immature and biased you are and it became obvious when you said "If it ever gets any games worth playing."

Windwaker HD was never the Wii U's best game. Lego City, NintendoLand and New Super Mario Bros. U were all better, and launch titles at that (my opinion, if you want to go on Metacritic then Rayman was better 18 days before Wind Waker).

I agree, Sing is a bad game, same with Wii Fit, and Wii Party. NintendoLand is a good game tho. Don't diss. Let's look at PS4's bad games shall we? How about Knack? What about that Destiny game that Sony spent millions getting exclusive advertising for? How about that Killzone game that was somehow a lot worse than Ghosts (the worst CoD game so far)?
I could easily argue that the party games on the Wii U are more fun than those I just listed.
Don't even get me started on Donkey Kong Country, if you think Retro's time was wasted making that game then there's something wrong. For the record I would have rather had Retro make a Metroid game, but I'm not going to act like an entitled twelve year old complaining that they made incredible game x instead of y.
I don't even need to give an argument on 3rd parties for the Wii U. You know Nintendo tried. 3rd parties are the ones that screwed it up.

It's true, I don't think the PS4 has any games worth buying the system for, especially when it's top 7 games are available on other systems. Name me some if you want.

Finally, I don't appreciate you calling me immature, biased, ignorant or a hypocrite. Name-calling is not a proper argument.

To get the gamers on their side is to do things like what Sony did for the PS4, being completely for the gamers.

If you think Sony is more for the gamers than Nintendo then there's something wrong here.

If Sony was for the gamers then they wouldn't be charging a fee for online. If Sony was for the gamers then their best PS4 game wouldn't be a remake that doesn't look better other than a resolution and framerate boost. If Sony was for the gamers then they wouldn't have to buy exclusive advertising rights to rainbow games just to make them sell better on their system. If Sony was for the gamers then they would be setting trends, creating new and interesting experiences, not giving us graphics unicorn tongue. I DON'T CARE HOW GOOD YOUR GAME LOOKS. I WANT A GAME THAT DOESN'T PLAY LIKE CRAP.

Sony is not for the gamers, they're not even close. They were more for the gamers with the PS3. Microsoft tho, oooh rainbow they're horsing incredibly anti-consumer. Scumbag pieces of rainbow. I hate their asses SO horsing MUCH. Like, seriously, have they ever made a good game? How do people put up with their bull horsing rainbow? It's just crazy. I hate anyone that thinks Microsoft makes a better console than Nintendo and I will happily kill them. If your opinion is different then kay but you're so horsing wrong.

If you want a console for the gamers then look no further than the Wii U.

There. That's my honest opinion. I'll probably buy a PS4 in the future.

If it ever gets any games worth playing.

*end rant*

Now if your opinion is different then that's okay, but you're wrong. ;)

#299160 Minecraft Clone: "U Craft" Announced

Posted by Mewbot on 25 September 2014 - 04:10 AM

U Craft, a clone of the popular Minecraft had its first screens released recently by Hullbreach. Strangely, the game is not by Hullbreach, but by an anonymous developer. The releases of information on the title are being handled by other developers (because Wii logic right?).

I'll update this topic as news comes in I guess.

#299065 Your Top 5 or 10 DS Games

If you have a phat DS or DS Lite, I'd recommend getting WarioWare: Twisted. Despite being a Gameboy game, it's still probably my most played game on the DS.

Can anyone translate?

1.

Your collaboration with Nintendo dates back to 1999 Has much changed working with the Japanese company?

Nintendo is much more open now. They really take care of third party development teams. With them we have a friendly relationship and often we get the opportunity to present our games during special events such as Nintendo Directs.

2.

What about the future of Shin'en, working with Sony and your relationship with Nintendo. Many fans were hoping for a closer partnership with Nintendo (the creation of an effective second party) and this openness to the competitor was unexpected.

We have just started our collaboration with Sony. We'll see how it develops over time but in the end we want to get our games to a greater number of gamers. With today's technologies more and more advanced it is much easier to make games for other consoles, something that was not possible to do in the past without diminishing the quality of the finished product.

We simply love Nintendo and what they have done for the world of gaming in general. We have three titles for Nintendo Wii U in development or already issued. We are a big supporter of that platform.

3.

How difficult is developing for the Wii U?

Developing for the Wii U is very simple. The software environment is much improved compared to the Wii.

4.

Do you have any plans for the New 3DS or 3DS?

At the moment we are concentrating on Wii U and PS4 .

5.

Art of Balance is coming out in a few days. What differences are there in the previous chapter? Can you give me some information about the online mode?

The last AoB console was released on the Wii console. For the Wii U version, we have added many more game modes, the number of levels has been doubled from 100 to 200, we added a ranking system and online game modes. AoB was already a perfect game for family and friends on the Wii, now with new online modes and with many more levels we have achieved a great value for the single player experience as well.

6.

The first image of Fast Racing NEO for WiiU has shaken the hearts of all owners of a Nintendo home console. To make your title have you taken inspiration from F-Zero or Wipeout? If so, what influences have they had?

We think that both games are great, but Fast Racing NEO will present its own specific gameplay experience and a different graphic style. We're really trying to make it unique.

7.

Have you considered finding a publisher for the game retail or will the game only be on the eShop?

We are very pleased with the manner of publication with a digital-only delivery of our games.

8.

This game will use 4K textures? The picture posted a few days ago shows a great attention to detail, will you ever create a game with photorealistic graphics?

The reactions to the first image were definitely positive, but will be presented much more in the coming weeks. I think only then will people really understand what the quality of our title is.

9.

How will you use the second screen of the GamePad? Should we expect a local multiplayer mode or online?

It will be possible to play the entire game on TV or GamePad. Besides this we have not decided on anything.

10.

What genre would you like to work with for an upcoming title?

We'd like to make a game based on the exploration of a world on a grand scale . We have some ideas but there will be no proposal before the next year.

Simple Google Translate, but I fixed a lot of the translations to make more sense. That last answer is interesting, a game based on the exploration of a large world by Shin'en would be amazing.

Edit:

There's an English button?

*groans*

I think you guys are TOTALLY underestimating Sony gamers.

Yeah, those fellas will make any game succeed. Have you seen the bestsellers list for the PS4?

On Zavvi it goes:

-Last Of Us (a remake that looks little better than the PS3 game)

-Watch Dogs (a bad game)

-CoD Ghosts (a bad game, the worst in the franchise)

-EA Sports UFC (idk what to say about this)

-Sniper Elite

-Need For Speed Rivals (a game with graphics no better than the Wii U version, and worse gameplay)

etc.

They'll buy anything it seems...

People on gaf already tearing Shinen a new butt hole, saying it's bad because of a repeat bushes and textures.

Gaffers all like "O NOES THE BUSHES ARE A BIT REPETITIVE!" because deserts in real life don't have lots of similar looking bushes like seriously fml.
