#208378 Ubisoft to fully support Wiiu.

Posted by Pjsprojects on 18 May 2013 - 12:19 AM

Looks like its just EA being high and mighty and on another good note i saw a WiiU/Lego city TV advert on ITV which is one of the UK's main channels, featured right in the middle of Coro soap. The advert will not of been cheap...

Anyway below is a good bit from Ubisoft.

Publisher confident that "Nintendo will take steps to ensure that the Wii U is successful in the market”

The proverbial rainbow hit the fan this week when Electronic Arts confirmed that it no longer has any Wii U games in development and that it's essentially backing away completely from the Nintendo console. The move, which provoked much discussion on the web (including from our European editor Matt Martin), is certainly a bad omen for the Wii U business, but French publisher Ubisoft is sticking by Nintendo.

As one of the strongest supporters of Wii U from the beginning, Ubisoft would still appear to be 100 percent committed to the platform with a host of different titles, despite the fact that Nintendo hasn't been able to build up a solid installed base.

When approached by GamesIndustry International about whether the company may reevaluate its stance on devoting resources to a struggling platform, a spokesperson told us, "As with any new console, it takes some time to grow an established base. Ubisoft has a varied and high-quality line-up for Wii U, with more big titles on the way including Rayman Legends, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and Splinter Cell Blacklist. We're confident that this will help in continuing to attract gamers to the Wii U system and that Nintendo will take steps to ensure that the Wii U is successful in the market."

Nintendo has a hard road ahead of itself with the Wii U, but the company has to be happy that it has a friend in Ubisoft.

Yet another boring Wiiu is dead, Wiiu is low tech worse than 48k Spectrum thread.

Enhanced maps? do they mean graphics or size, don't really see them putting much extra effort into the port due to low sales volume but we will see

Just done some checks and it's getting some new maps so depending on price this might be a purchase.

#205705 Update speed boost to cpu &gpu utter rubbish?

Posted by Pjsprojects on 10 May 2013 - 05:55 AM

The only reason i even bothered posting the link is because i'm sure my fan seems louder since the update which must mean it's working harder.

Maybe a small tweek has been done? but would a speed tweek make the current games run funny?

#205703 How do we all feel about the wii u so far?

Posted by Pjsprojects on 10 May 2013 - 05:46 AM

Happy enough with the product and tbh the games up to now. However i'm not happy about the price! like above i paid £350 and now it's a budget console at £199.

The other thing that would bother me is that no dlc seems to turn up for released games, so it's a good job i have other options for games. But at least the play time per game seems pretty high.

So although we don't get the dlc we do seem to get the extended directors cut type version which makes the purchase more worthwhile to me.

#205681 Retro Studios's Game will be announcing real soon.

There`s a guy on IGN boards that says it`s a big FPS and that it will graphically impress.

100-Year-Old-Gamer, that`s his name. He opened a topic and by the looks of it, he seems to have a reputation: http://www.ign.com/b...arts.452980149/

According to him, he works at Nintendo... and has met the man, the one called Reggie! B)

Lets hope he's spot on! would love a good fps thats only on Wiiu.

It's been said that pc versions in build have used xbox buttons or ps3 buttons so a few that hate the Wiiu seem to think this is the case with this video.

Lets face it, if it's 100% proven to be Wiiu then the graphics are not that good & if it's proven to be pc then it's no wonder they are so dam good!

#203287 Getting a bit fed up with UK prices Asda £149.99 Tesco £139.99

Posted by Pjsprojects on 03 May 2013 - 03:45 AM

Amazon UK, Base.com to follow suit shortly according to Eurogamer

All these price drop headlines on all the gaming sites right now must be killing Nintendo. :(

It hurts us the owners that paid full launch price, i simply don't class it a budget console and feel the devalue price drops will not help its rep in the game world.

And asda is premium for £199 with out the controller or zombie game, not £149 as the op said, utter lies, op fail!

not to mendtion, the asda price was temporary and is now OOS, I work for them

Erm i think you need to calm down a bit chap.

I cant believe it either. I should of waited but like an idiot fanboy, I just ran and bought it because of the Nintendo logo.

I could of saved £150 which is a lot to me.

I relate to that but i'm not really a Nintendo fan, i bought it for the following-

Next gen tech.

Game pad being a great idea.

Lego city and other promised 3rd party support.

Purchased late jan at full price and really do think the Wiiu is a great bit of kit but this price drop really is a big kick in the teeth.

#200785 Iwata Is Aware That People Believe That Wii U Is Underpowered And Says...

Posted by Pjsprojects on 27 April 2013 - 01:11 PM

From what i have seen the Wiiu is leaps ahead of the much older systems, i'm not just on about graphics which clearly are better but game play methods. People tend to forget the control pad is not just a touch screen, it has many features that can be used in games to enhance the gameplay.

Also worth a mention is the software the machine runs, although in it's early days things like Miiverse offer another way of adding a new angle to games.

So although the graphics are better than ps360 they do not make the reason the console was designed as powerful as it is - gameplay!
