I could rant for hours about this but I won't. All I'm gonna say is both Nintendo AND 3rd parties need to change their attitudes.

They will say that it took them almost a year to get gfx as good as launch games for the other two and say that Nintendo is behind yet again. You know they will.

Idk might be nostalgia talking since people say Zelda OoT was amazing too and I find Skyward Sword better. However maybe it is an older gamer view compared to others which I can understand tbh. don't get me wrong I'm not saying it was a bad game just was not my kind of FF

Definately nostalgia. Slyward sword IS better than oot. A lot better.

And ff7 was just a ff6 rehash with fmv's for the very first time. The fmv's are the only reason its remembered.

Unfortunately, that is very true.
Nintendo owners complain that they don`t get good 3rd party support, but when they do, not everything fits their tastes and most of the times they will just buy it for another console.

On topic:

When it comes to consoles, nothing is written in stone: the core market belonged to Nintendo once. Then it lost it to Sega and then Sony. Then Sony lost part of it to MS.

And seeing this past generation doesn`t really have a precedent, no one can really know how things will unfold.

As GameCollector put it: it`s all about the waiting game.

People are acting as if the 3DS was awesome in the first year when it was nothing. The Wii U has been out for like 6 months. now looking back st 3Ds in 6 months for that we only had Zelda OfT,RE Mercenaries,Pilot Wings,DS Overclocked ,Rayman 3D, and Starfox. Now a good chunk of those were just remakes but with Wii U we have a bunch of ports people might not have played if they never had a 360 or PS3 plus Mario U,Zombie U,Scripplenauts,Monster Hunter,Lego city,Need for Speed,Injustice. Heck the Wii U is doing better then the 3DS was at this time. The 3DS began to get awesome during 2012 and really picked up speed in 2013. Heck the Vita has only just got good and it took a year and 2 months. Plus we have not even had E3 which will give us more games if Reggie's quote is true.
