#258471 Small features that will greatly improve Wii U for me

Posted by Gamejunkie on 01 December 2013 - 12:27 PM

what about region locking do you think it should be cancled

You can't cancel something like region locking. It could be disabled however or not included in the first place. This is one of those things that makes Nintendo behind the times and their consoles seem backwards especially when the PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Vita are all region free and the Xbox 360 is region free with certain games.

#259144 If you were chosen to create your own bundle what is it going to include

Platinum Bundle

32 GB Platinum-colored console with Gamepad and Pro Controller to match
The Wonderful 101
Bayonetta 2

$300

Ubisoft Bundle

32 GB Console with Gamepad and Pro Controller
Assassin's Creed 4
Watch Dogs
Splinter Cell Blacklist
Rayman Legends

$350

I changed the Ubisoft Bundle from $300 to $350 because that is much mire realistic. I picked the original price point because you can get a 360 with 4 games for a price similar to that, but that was the 4 GB version of a system that came out in 2005. $350 is still a steal for what you're getting: 4 $60 games and an extra controller that costs $50? That's amazing!

Guys   am a Nintendo fan but am sick of Mario bundles, i mean no offense to Nintendo but Mario bundles never sold well ,Nintendo needs to start making

3rd party bundles .

the idea of my bundle is nice it includes a game for every gamer  ( never mind the price ) so i believe Nintendo should begin either making 3rd party bundles or developing a cheap system that doesn't exceed 180 dollars.

I'm not really a fan of 3d world, ghosts or ass creed.

For my bundle It'd probably be a

32gb red console

pro controller

wonderful 101

legocity undercover

wonder mask (for you to wear whilst playing)

price would be 220 quid and it'd be called the action adventure pack.

#256342 Miiverse 3DS won't include a friend request, or message system.

Jesus Christ. At this rate, we're going to be waiting 2 more Nintendo console launches before we get a capable online system that has the ability to do simple things like inviting people to a game or chatting with a friend outside of a clunky app.

#257307 What are game engines ?

Posted by Alex Atkin UK on 21 November 2013 - 11:04 AM

The best way to look at a game engine is like building a car.  If you had to build a car entirely from scratch, including designing and building every single part, it would take ages and be very very difficult, time consuming and expensive. However, building a car from existing off-the-shelf components, or even a kit, is much simpler and cheaper.

A game engine is basically the same principle, a bunch of existing components you can assemble how you like to create a game.  It allows you to concentrate on how those components combine together to make your game.

#254384 Dual graphics engine

it all sounds good but no one will give U respect until they see these things coming from third parties. 2014 will be the year for Wii U... X, mk8, smash4, Bayo2

The problem is, until third parties think they can make their money back from the system (i.e. it has a larger install base) third parties won't even try to optimise it. They just pretend they have and say "look! GamePad features!".

I just hope they will give it a proper shot if the Wii U gets popular. We don't want the ports to stay low-quality just because they think the Nintendo fan base won't notice.

#250367 If ninty were to release a wii u slim and gamepad slim. What improvements?

Posted by Gaymer on 07 October 2013 - 10:30 PM

Everything Nintendo makes seems to be strong and durable.

I had my friends over for a party and one of them won in NintendoLand using the GamePad, so he started doing a victory dance (which involved thrusting the GamePad up and down quickly) and he lost grip on the GamePad, flinging it straight at the floor as hard as he could (I bet it would have broken any tablet, smartphone, or Xbocks/PS controller easily).

The GamePad was fine, but there's a dent in the floor where it hit.

Durable my ass! My gamepad's screen broke easily!

#237180 What Nintendo need to do NOW

Posted by chainmychomp on 05 August 2013 - 06:43 AM

Nintendo could always have an hour long special on a t.v. channel, like CBS showing off wii u games and talking about the system. It'd catch casual gamers' attention due to being on a major network and would be great advertising if done right.

Jimmy Fallon did this though
