It is hard to say since most of the games that we know are coming out next year are coming out early/mid 2012. If this game does make  it, I would want a Final Fantasy versus XIII port for it.

BioShock Infinite, by far my most anticipated game next year.

#34459 The Fanboy/ Fangirl Awards!

Posted by Andy on 01 October 2011 - 08:59 AM

Ahem, I've got 7 reasons of why I am the biggest Zelda Fan.

1) I WRITE IN GREEN! What Zelda fan doesn't do that?!
2) I've created a Skyward Sig Shop, with SIXTEEN sigs!
3) I am going to make a log of my adventures in Skyward Sword.
4) I check the news everyday on zeldadungeon.net and zeldainformer.com
5) I'm going as Link for Halloween! >: D
6) Did I already mention the SIXTEEN sigs? You're using one of them!
7) I think Princess Zelda is HOT! ;)

You celebrate Zelda when a new game comes out, I do it all year round.
1)I stay up till 3A.M. trying to make a timeline that makes sense.
2)I replay the original Zelda once a month.
3)I stopped checking the news because I want it all to be a surprise when I play Skyward Sword.
4)I've had Skyward Sword pre-ordered since 2009.
5)I once opened the original game on the 3DS just to listen to the title music until the battery went red.
6)I also plan on logging my progress in Skyward Sword.
7)I want to go as Link for Halloween, but my parents don't like ordering costumes on the internet.
8)I plan on getting a job at EAD group 3(any Zelda fan should know what that is).
9)You have a Link avatar for a few months just for one game. I always have a Link avatar.
10)My most watched video on YouTube is the Zelda theme.
11)I'm currently listening to a ten hour loop of the Song of Storms.
12)I'm always drawing Triforces on my school work, and even replace the A in my name with a Triforce.
13)I currently spend my weekends hunting for copies of the Oracle Games, which would complete my Zelda collection.
14)I once hummed the Song of Storms, and it began to rain.
15)Princess Zelda thinks I'm hot.

#40766 Steve Jobs more Influential then Miyamoto, What!?

Posted by Nico on 03 November 2011 - 11:24 AM

Apple is indeed a very influential company, and Steve Jobs was certainly an extraordinary man, but to say that Apple has done anything influential for gaming is, quite simply, a lie.  The only thing Apple has accomplished is creating a smart phone which can play Touch Based Games (a genre of game which Nintendo pioneered) the quality of a Flash Game usually.  There are rare exceptions, such as the exceptional Infinity Blade, which do make the Smart Phone Market (read: Not just Apple) a bit more hardcore, but overall you simply cannot get a true gaming experience without physical buttons.

Shigeru Miyamoto is absolutely and unequivocally the most influential player in the history of video games, with Nolan Bushnell right behind for pioneering (though not perfecting) Electronic Gaming.  Microsoft is almost single-handedly responsible for the rise of Online Gaming for consoles, marking it high on the list of influence as a company, and Sony is home to the (once creative, now lackluster) geniuses who invented the Dual-Analog as well as first used Memory Cards (which, though not as awesome as Hard Drives, are exceptional for being portable) rather than saving data to the game copy.

Apple, on the other hand, has contributed absolutely nothing to gaming (Mac is still trailing behind PC by years in gaming).  Smart Phones aren't the rise of a new generation of gaming, rather, they are simply a fad which only the simplest of minds could possibly conceive as more comprehensive and visceral than any true gaming device.

So, what's my point with all of this? The point is that I, along with many other people, know better than to say Steve Jobs was more influential to gaming than, well, pretty much anyone else (Even Zynga was more influential than him).  A survey of 1,000 people proves absolutely nothing, as that is an extraordinarily small percentage of even a single state's population, much less a country or the world.

Let people be entertained by their smart phone games, what with their bird flinging, finger-flick slashing good times. Meanwhile, I'll be off playing real games created by true professionals with actual talent.

#37694 Welcoming Committee - Now taking applications for new Guides!

Posted by Brian6330 on 22 October 2011 - 04:32 PM

Brian6330 is officially in charge of the Guides now. He'll decide whether you get to be a Guide or not.

Okay!

So, I've took my time and gone over a few recent introduction threads...

Caius, you definetely get the position as you're posts are nice in grammar, good content, and nicely formulated. Just be sure to write around 5 or more sentences for each "welcome" message, so that you're posts aren't too short.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Lucaren, I'm not exactly sure about you. Yes, you welcome new members, but you're posts usually consist of 1 sentence usually containing "Welcome to the forums + something else*. Before I'd give Feld0 the green light to promote you, I'd like to see some bigger and longer posts that are more special/unique. Try to say something else besides only welcoming them... So, in short: make you're posts better and longer in new threads and then come ask again ;) I'm just looking for that little extra effort.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

PK-Gaming, you did start to format your posts nicer and increase their length. I think you deserve the promotion, but under ONE condition; don't forget to post in any welcome thread... (that goes for all Guides). If you think you won't be able to welcome a member after around 3-5 days after they've made their thread, then tell us. It's a Guide's duty to welcome all members. So, just be sure to not forget that ;)

So in all: PK-Gaming and Caius get the promotion, just don't forget to have long enough posts (Caius) and to not miss any introduction threads (PK-Gaming)
Lucaren, you need to lengthen your posts and make 'em more unique. Don't forget, after you think you've change you're posts, you can come to try and apply again ;)

I've sent a PM to Feld0, telling him who to promote.

-Brian

#37488 wii u hardware already a flop

Posted by Bill Cipher on 21 October 2011 - 05:12 PM

why do we want ports of xbox and ps3 games when we would be playing last gen games?? because the wii u is not that much better than wats out there i think you all will be extremely dissapointed when you realize that there is going to be hardly any difference between the wii u and the 360 or ps3. why would i buy one?? i already have a xbox that can pretty much do the same thing. before the ps3 came out everyone was like its 200% better than xbox because it has this many processors or blah blah it was exactly the same the wii u is wat the wii should have been 4 years ago. i am a nintendo fan but im not expecting anything more than a xbox 360 with i little bit more shine. zelda hd should have been made 4 years ago!!!!!!!! another year or so the wii u will be old technology once again getting watered down ports.

Let me point out a simple fact to you:
The best looking games on Consoles come out near the death of said console.
So yeah, the power is underutilized at launch. Need any proof, compare SM64DS to KH:ReC. The jump in graphics is noticeable, and as I said, it's a lot easier to tell the power of a machine near the end of it's life. Add this in with how Nintendo will 1080p to at least 2 screens, so graphic's wont even be a problem

*Facepalm* Little fun fact for ya. MOST OF THE X-BOX 360'S LAUNCH TITLES WERE ADVANCE HD VERSIONS OF X-BOX/GAMECUBE/PS2 GAMES! Is the X-Box 360 only as powerful as the X-Box? Heck no! Most of the developers have said that the Wii U versions of games will be deluxe versions. Ya know, deluxe as in, "If you want the best version, get this or the PC version." Just because many of the currently announced games are also on the 360/PS3, doesn't mean that that it isn't powerful enough to be considered a next gen system.

#36286 Wii U Must Support An Equivalent of Direct X 11/Open GL 4.2

Posted by Caius Casshern Sins on 14 October 2011 - 11:46 AM

I actually agree with you on this. I want the Wii u to be able to compete with the future consoles from Sony and Microsoft not the current on. So far the guys at crytech are pleased with the Wii U so far which can only mean a good thing.
