#295746 Do diffrent game engines produce better graphics

Posted by xile6 on 13 August 2014 - 05:11 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Yes and no.
Different graphics come from using better tools or understanding your tools better.

Think of a ice sculpture. One that works with a chain saw and one that uses a chisel.
They both can make the same thing. Both same details and everything.
Now have them switch tools and they would probably turn out crap. Not because the tools they use are bad but because they don't understand how to use them fully.

Same with games. New engines don't always mean better graphic. Some time they make it easier to work with , other times there to new and people don't understand them and turn out crap.

#295426 MK8 Weird Mercedes-Benz DLC - Why does this exist?

Posted by xile6 on 09 August 2014 - 07:07 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Mercedes not BMW.

What's so bad about a playable car in a fighting game with your companies characters?

Reminds me of the robot chick eps. Where they were talking about street fighter and he said I'm suppose to fight a honda.

Lol.

#295246 Gamestop checkout problem

Posted by xile6 on 07 August 2014 - 05:51 AM in The Café

That's the thing tho. Gamestop "guts" new games puts the case on display and the disc in the drawer. Employees are allowed to take that new game home and play it for up to 4 days. They bring the game back and it's put back in the drawer and will still be sold as new. Also some stores like ours had a shrink wrap machine in the back. So had some used sold as new "sealed" games.

yea i seen the places with the machines, but the one i go to  doesnt do that.

So when i buy new from them its new with working codes and everything.

lol people think they are actually saving money. Easy to make it look that way and have high prices and give them a pepper ghost card for 15$
Esp when some of those new game were taken home by emplyees played and returned in 4 days so you just bought a used game at a new price. I could write a book on that joint. Was a manager there. Seriously the card is BS

Well that's the thing I 99% of the time buy new seal games.
The other 1% I buy a used game, it's something I found on ebay for the same price and just didn't feel like waiting for it to come in the mail.

Now I will not trade in games to them tho.
That's 100% rip off.
I remember before they use to have a trade 2 and pay $10 for a new game. But I think that was eb games also.

Posted by xile6 on 06 August 2014 - 11:11 AM in The Café

I'm sorry but I only buy from gamestop.
I normally buy new and it's just 10 tens easier to walk in and get my game. Vs stand in a long line at Walmart then have someone get keys and all that crap.

I don't buy many games online because I find them for the same price used at gamestop. I have brought from best buy because I have a card and get rewards points.
But my main score is gamestop.

Yea Gamestop site is bad.
If you want to get him a gift card I'd say you have to do it at another site.
I'd really just send him a visa gift card.

#294969 How long will Gamepad last, literally?

Posted by xile6 on 04 August 2014 - 08:03 AM in Wii U Hardware

Uhhh....That's actually not what I meant at all. What I was talking about was how long does the whatever receiver usually last before it burns out. I've seen computers and phones often stop connecting to wifi and such because of problems like that. I didn't mean that in 10 years the system won't be able to use a Gamepad because it's old and won't be compatible anymore.

Companies often make products on purpose to only last a certain little while before they either stop working or support stops and various other reasons. In otherwords they are not made to last. That way consumers buy more to keep them in business and economy flowing. TV makers for instance want you to replace your TV every 5 years. Phone Companies do it through service and want you to get a new phone every 2 years.

Well see that's the thing I never had to replace anything like that.
All my stuff works just fine. I had alot since launch day and it still works today.
I did have a plasma TV go out after 5 yrs when I had a 4dr warranty.
But other then that my stuff have lasted.

Nintendo doesn't use Planned Obsolesence. Other companies do. To get you to buy more.

I don't understand what your saying?

I didn't say anything would be obsolete.

#294914 How long will Gamepad last, literally?

Posted by xile6 on 03 August 2014 - 07:15 PM in Wii U Hardware

I'm wondering how long will the Gamepad last? Like the streaming tech behind it. How long does whatever it uses to stream the game to it last, 5 years, 10 years? This interests me because I don't think something like that would last very long and then eventually over time the Wii U would turn into a standard system like past ones where you can only use the Pro Controller and not the Gamepad.

I'm sorry but that's re tarded.
When a company makes tech it is to last the life of the system.
Nintendo will never need to change tech for the gsmepad.
It will stream the games just fine no matter what.

That's like saying a ps3 controller won't work on a ps3 after 10 yrs because it's old tech.
It makes no sense it doesn't work like that.

Now if they make a new system that runs at 4k resolution,  then they would have to use better tech to stream it better to a new game pad.

#294906 Trouble at Nintendo, staff not happy with Iwata and want to replace him

Posted by xile6 on 03 August 2014 - 04:36 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Because he plays playstation and xbox a lot, mainly sports game or gta.

Yea he plays other stuff also but it's the fact that he didn't know anything about the wii u that got me.
He plays residents evil also.

#294904 Trouble at Nintendo, staff not happy with Iwata and want to replace him

Posted by xile6 on 03 August 2014 - 03:37 PM in Wii U Games and Software

But everybody already knows ho Nintendo's characters are...

lol do you know that Mario is more well known than Mickey mouse?  My 74 year old mom knows who Mario and Sonic are and never played them or plays games at all.
You gotta be Amish to not know who Mario is. mrKSqPr.gif

Yea people know who mario is but what about pikmin? Metriod? Hell kirby?

Everyone know mario and donkey kong. Most old people grow up with that.
But if you ask any old person to name another nintendo person they won't know or will say Luigi.

Also I was playing ac3 on the wii u. My uncle came over and said the game looks good. And I said Yea it does. Then he said playstation has always had some great graphics.
Then I told him it was the Nintendo wii u. And he was confused, and said nintendo made something that looks this good.

That tells me that there isn't enough information out there for new comers.
He plays playstation and Xbox alot. Mainly sports game or gta.
And he knows about a few new games coming out. Mainly what he sees on tv.

But yet he hear and knew nothing about the wii u.
If I was big N, I would put the system out there so much that everyone would know it.
I'd also stop calling it a wii u and just call it a nintendo U.

#294886 Trouble at Nintendo, staff not happy with Iwata and want to replace him

Posted by xile6 on 03 August 2014 - 11:39 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Idk how I feel about this.
On 1 hand it's good to keep your games in your system. That way a person has to by your system in order to play it.

On the other hand, make small games would bring in new comers.

But still either way nintendo needs to step up there game. They need to turn out some more games and do better ads for the games they got.
I see so many fan made trailers , then see the real ad and I'm disappointed.
Also I believe they need to stop advertising all the games they made for the family.

Idk about you but I wouldn't want to play mario kart with my mom or grandma.

Also made ads for older people. It seems like all the ads are for 5 year olds. Yet a 5 year old does have a ton of money and they aren't the ones to wait in line @ midnight to get a game.

I think if nintendo made some of these changes they would be doing better.

They could use that and send him a copy of the game for free

#294762 Nintendo giving out Smash Bros demos

Posted by xile6 on 01 August 2014 - 07:17 PM in General Gaming

It's because the only demo they have right now (the E3 build) is unstable and is prone to glitches or crashes, like any other E3 demo. It wouldn't be a good idea to release it like that.

Then it wouldnt be good to have the demo in the first place.

I have seen games get a bad rep before because of E3 builds.

I still do think that nintendo needs to step up there game tho.

#294746 Nintendo giving out Smash Bros demos

Posted by xile6 on 01 August 2014 - 02:15 PM in General Gaming

I dont understand why they dont just give out the demo for everyone, by putting it on the eshop.

But thats nintendo for you. Always late and off by some feet.

They really need to get better, there falling behind.

#294744 4.6 million people played Destiny's beta

Posted by xile6 on 01 August 2014 - 01:47 PM in General Gaming

Guess I won't play it then since bored land was exactly that. Good for them it's popular though.

Basically. By the by I'm pretty sure I played it for 30 hours before dumping it but I don't remember and don't feel like checking.

yea boarderlands wasnt the greatest but it was cool to play.

But destiny was better tho and its suppose to have online matchs i just didnt get into them. The beta ran out when i found out.

#294153 Hyrule Warriors

Posted by xile6 on 25 July 2014 - 06:43 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I swear to Tholtig you best not be talking about platinums metal gear rising revengeneance.

No not rising I like that game ot was cool. I remember it being something older. Might not even have been real or could of be dlc for another game.

You do get the whole point of this game is to be a crossover of sorts to where you have a dynasty warriors style game set in the Zelda universe right? Like you're criticizing a game for doing exactly what the game is telling you it's going to do. I'm sorry it's not exactly what you want, but don't bash it or consider it crap because of that. Grade it impartially for quality, but grade as biased as you like as far as enjoyment.

Yea I guess I hear to you. It would be wrong to fuss at need for speed for not being mario kart.

If there is a demo I will check it out. But I just wonder why would they go this route. I didn't really think that dynasty warrior sold that good.
But this is just imo.

#294133 Hyrule Warriors

Posted by xile6 on 24 July 2014 - 08:24 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Not my type of game. It still sucks to me.
Looks like a rebranded dynasty warrior.
I think there was even a metal gear solid like this.

Idk why game makers take there series so far away from what it use to be.

#294014 For those who have seen Dawn of the Planet of The Apes (SPOOILERS)

Posted by xile6 on 22 July 2014 - 09:06 PM in The Café

Very good.
I can't wait till the next one.
I can say don't see it in 3d, there wasn't anything besides a mild depth.
But the most was great. It's completing the story and telling it well.

#293746 A 9-year old boy married a 62 year old woman

Posted by xile6 on 19 July 2014 - 10:34 AM in The Café

ummm....

yea idk about that one.

There was a 13 yr old that married his friends mom which was in her 30s but hell this is way off.

Maybe  he will get older and she will get younger and there meet in the middle lol.

#293122 Why can't you run from a trainer battle in Pokemon?

Posted by xile6 on 13 July 2014 - 07:40 PM in Roleplay and Forum Games

It's very disrespectful. And should not be done at all. Fight or die.

....
.....
......lol. Idk they just made it like that so you can't back out of all the battles that are there to test your skills. It wouldn't be cool if you could just skip bosses in other games.
