#264799 Maybe we have not seen NEXT-GEN Nintendo yet?

Posted by theizzzeee on 04 January 2014 - 08:42 PM in Wii U Hardware

and that is the most obvious problem Nintendo has. Their software lineup is filled with more cartoon/colorful artstyle rather than realistic. So it is easier for Naysayers to say 3dworld can be done on 7th gen and nothing is special about it. IMO "X" coming in 2014 has really big standards to live up to it is set in a realistic worlds and characters so people are gonna judge that more hardly.

I agree. I think they just need to balance it out.

Mario 3D World & MK 8 next-gen, really ?

Yeah maybe the tip of the iceberg, a very small iceberg though.

If, you don't think those are great looking games then you just don't have any respect for non-photorealistic looking games.  That or you need binoculars for the games and the iceberg.

no we have not seen it, it will be the follow up console to the WiiU.

We will see it a lot sooner than that on the Wii U. Mario 3D World, Bayonetta 2 and Mariokart 8 are just the tip of the iceberg.

Yeah, a console being launched beat a console that has been out for a year with the same number of consoles sold by the end of the month on all 3 main and whatever other console you were refering to, possibly the 3ds, their other console?
It's terrible new!!!!!!!! they're doooommmeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/quote

I think all consoles have markets they do better in. XBOX 360 sells like lint in Japan but, much much better everywhere else. I think once China is in play fully the Wii U will do very well there.

#263204 Shouldnt Watchdogs dynamic city work well with the Wii U's CPU?

Posted by theizzzeee on 24 December 2013 - 01:16 PM in Wii U Hardware

We all hope.... fighting uphill battle.

I think a year from now the Wii U will hit it's stride. I think it will have decent third party support. Less people will be down on what the perceived specs of the Wii U mean once they see more of what it's capable of. Although third party support isn't very hot right now it's still a victory having games like Darkstalkers II, the last two Batman's, the last two Assassins Creed, Call Of Duty with most of the bells and whistles and the upcoming Watchdogs. That never would have happened on the Wii. One factor over looked by many concerning third party sales is one big factor. Last gen was primarily a two console household a Wii and XBOX 360 or a Wii and PS3. So with many multiplatform games people elect to pay just $60 instead of $360. That coupled with the perception the Wii U version games will be lacking and also remembering Wii versions lacking. I am curious to see how well cross gen PS4 and XBOX ONE games sell after the holidays.

never going to happen its a good thought though.

I'll keep at it. The truth is an uncontrollable force and it will eventually come out.

"Wii U is pretty much in-between – it’s neither of them, not current-gen, maybe closer to current-gen than next-gen.”

Take this to mean whatever you want.

Here is the full quote. "I would say the Wii U version is pretty much in between what the current gen is and what the next gen is from a version standpoint. It's hard to position it. I would tend to say it's maybe a bit closer to current gen than next gen for certain things but it's a beautiful game on Wii U and it's cool to play it just on the GamePad." I am glad you didn't edit that line the way most have. Here is the link to the full article for anyone who wants to see it.http://www.computera...s-to-gtas-turf/ .

It's all about how the developer optimize the game for the Wii U...

Also remember that Watch Dogs is a "last gen" game, really nothing next gen about it. If Ubi can make a decent port, then we'll get above ps360 standards but not the VERY little touches of what is called "next gen" which is insignificant.

Actually it is all of the above. The XBOX 360 and PS3 versions were made separate from the other versions. http://www.gamercent...nt-started-yet/

thanks for posting this... i know it will get overlooked by most Wii U underpowered crowd but.....

You are welcome. The Wii U isn't the only one developers ran into issues with. Some developers have run into issues with the PS4 and XBOX ONE as well. If, they spent the same time, effort and money making Wii U games would run tremendously better.
