#114979 Limited edition pickachu 3ds xl

If it makes you feel any better guys, us Europeans still haven't heard a single word about Animal Crossing 3DS even reaching our shores.

#114068 Metal Gear Rising Revengeance coming to Wii U? Shows off real power?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 01 October 2012 - 04:27 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I'd love to believe this, but where's this guy's proof? The interview clip he showed didn't really answer the question of whether or not there'll be a Wii U version, neither did the trailer.

#113149 Microsoft to blame for Ensemble Studios closing?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 27 September 2012 - 08:51 AM in General Gaming

It's not a surprise really. Of any company to have ever participated in the console market, Microsoft is undoubtedly the worst. I put the blame on the general mindset that most western video game publishers have. EA, Activision, Microsoft etc, they're all usually very conservative and absolutely unwilling to take risks for the sake of innovation, business opportunity or just bringing out a quality game for their system. They like to go where the money is 100% guaranteed rather than doing something bold and trying to make a profit out of an idea someone hasn't done before or which hasn't been done in a while, like Nintendo/Sony/Sega in their hardware days.

Then again, Sony certainly seems to be heading in this direction too lately. Shutting down Zipper Interactive and SCE Liverpool over the course of a few months for instance. A real shame to see how little respect some devs get these days. -_-

#112879 Dont Buy ME 3 for Wii U , Wii EA

Posted by Deadly Virus on 26 September 2012 - 08:33 AM in Wii U Games and Software

So, who's betting EA's going to withdraw almost all hardcore support for the Wii U when ME3 inevitably flops and they blame it on the consumers? -_-

#112254 WII U to be region locked according to famitsu

Posted by Deadly Virus on 24 September 2012 - 04:29 AM in Wii U Hardware

Was anyone honestly expecting anything different? Especially after the 3DS was the very first Nintendo handheld to have a region lock.

It sucks though, yeah. Especially since in Europe we don't always get games that the US does, even if they're fully in English and therefore available for most of us to play. The situation is a lot better than it used to be, but there's still a few that just don't get EU releases or come out a year or so later, and this makes it a lot more difficult. -_-

#111784 What type of Gamer do you consider yourself to be?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 23 September 2012 - 02:57 AM in General Gaming

I consider myself "hardcore" to some degree, but then I enjoy a wide range of games some of which people would probably consider to be pretty "casual".

It all depends on your general attitude towards gaming I guess. If you know a lot about the games you play and are open to playing new ones across many different genres and platforms, then that'd fit the definition of "hardcore" IMO.

#111656 if a gamecube game came to the eshop, which one should out be?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 22 September 2012 - 05:30 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Starfox Adventures should have stayed Dinosaur Planet, no doubt.

And yeah Starfox 64 had a lot of concepts from Starfox 2. But the real game that should be considered a remake of that game has to be Starfox Command.

It's rare to find another person who has played that unreleased Starfox. What did you think of it? I personally loved it a lot. I thought it was way better than the original in nearly every way possible. Had they released it I think it would have been a definite hit no question.

I actually haven't played it, is the ROM available somewhere? :o

#111608 if a gamecube game came to the eshop, which one should out be?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 22 September 2012 - 04:22 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Ummm.....since when was Starfox 64 a remake of the SNES one? You obviously have not played it. And yes you can tell how real a game feels after two games, because by then it should be considered a series. Especially if they keep similarities between the two and introduce new elements. In cases like Zelda it's a bit different I admit.

Starfox Adventures was not even supposed to be a Starfox game to begin with though so that itself shows how real of a Starfox game it was. It suffered from the same thing Super Mario Bros.2 did. Maybe you should look up the history of Starfox adventures. It was a game called Dinosaur Planet, until they decided to switch out the characters from that game and replace them with Starfox characters. Oh and you know those Arwing missions in the game that you play to get to different areas? Those were just tacked into the game to make it feel somewhat like a Starfox game. Adventures is the farthest thing from a Starfox game that exists in the series.

Star Fox Adventures is not a bad game. My only real qualm with it is that I really, really wish it would have stayed as Dinosaur Planet rather than having the Star Fox brand shamelessly plastered over it.

Also, yeah, if anything SF64 is a remake of the unreleased Star Fox 2, but even then there were a lot of concepts and ideas that were simply unused.

#111501 violent mario game?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 22 September 2012 - 12:26 PM in General Gaming

I talked about this once before. I'd LOVE so much a Mario-universe game in a mature style like Conker's Bad Fur Day. Of course this doesn't mean Mario needs to be gunning down Koopas and Goombas with an AK-47 while committing sexual acts with Peach, but I'd just really enjoy seeing a Mario game that took on some adult humour like Conker and did something that absolutely no one would be expecting from Nintendo. :o

#110488 Favorite Sonic Voice Actor?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 20 September 2012 - 11:21 AM in General Gaming

You basically summed up what my rant would of been. Griffith is a horrible Sonic

I guess that's what you get when you assign 4kids voice actors to recording for actual video games... :P

#110324 Favorite Sonic Voice Actor?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 19 September 2012 - 10:22 PM in General Gaming

Always really, really loved the voice actors in the Adventure series and I'm still disappointed they ditched them.. Ryan Drummond was my favourite voice of Sonic.

I do think Roger Craig Smith and the rest of the new cast have done a brilliant job though. They're a hell of a lot better than most of the previous VAs.

#109985 Ninja Gaiden 3 could kill on the Wii U

Posted by Deadly Virus on 19 September 2012 - 08:34 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Wanna get my hands on it, but I feel like I should play the earlier NG games first too. I'll probably pick them up for my PS3 sometime soon.

#109966 The future of Sony?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 19 September 2012 - 07:28 AM in General Gaming

It'd debatable, but I don't think Sony is entirely screwed yet. Remember that the PS3 is pretty much doing better than ever since around 2009, Sony made an absolutely dramatic recovery after what many viewed as a horrible launch. The Vita is a brilliant system, and it's a real shame that it's not selling well in any region really, but a good few games can always change things. The Vita needs it's own equivalent of what MGS4 was for the PS3 is what I'm saying, another hard-hitting anticipated exclusive that could drive a lot of gamers to purchase a Vita solely to play it. But it's questionable whether Sony can be bothered to put that much attention into handhelds or not.

As for the PS4, we'll wait and see. Sony has the problem of being far too ambitious with new consoles, and they end up letting people down in the end. If they try to pull what they did last time and feed us a bunch of pre-rendered crap trying to make us believe it's the real deal, I can see them getting in some deep trouble with the gaming world. If they play their cards right, make things reasonable, and have a whole range of impressive new IPs and new installments of old IPs from launch, then they'll probably do fine.

The one thing I can see is Sony permanently discontinuing their handheld branch if the Vita doesn't pick up speed soon. Unfortunately I just don't think they have the same passion for handhelds that Nintendo does to make it work, so I can see them making an easy retreat to the smartphone space in the next few years.

#109604 Whats the age range

Posted by Deadly Virus on 18 September 2012 - 12:32 PM in The Café

No kids go to midnight launches. If you do end up going you'll likely see a lot of people around 18 to 25, maybe even older. Kids have to go to school in the morning, you see. :P

I'm 16 by the way.

#109219 amazon selling the U?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 17 September 2012 - 03:10 PM in Wii U Hardware

Ehm, I'm pretty sure they are. Amazon UK is selling it, I preordered from there and also bought my 3DSXL off there a couple months ago.

#108902 Wario World 2?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 16 September 2012 - 10:13 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Don't know about Wario World, but I'd really really REALLY love to see a Wario Land 5 at some point, maybe even as a Wii U game. :o

#108639 Rare Employees Would Have Stayed With Nintendo If They Were Still With Nintendo

Posted by Deadly Virus on 16 September 2012 - 11:56 AM in General Gaming

It's not all Microsoft's fault, guys. A little known secret is that in 2001 when Rare was seeking someone to buy them out, the first company they went to before anyone else was Nintendo. Nintendo turned down the offer as they thought Rare was charging too high a price, leading them to chase after a third party buyer instead. By 2002 it seemed like Activision was the most likely to take ownership of the company, until Microsoft stepped in out of a desire to attach some high profile developers to the newly launched Xbox while simultaneously denying Nintendo access to those same games.

So if you're looking for anyone to blame, you might want to shift your attention to Ninty first. MS did absolutely horribly in managing Rare after the buyout, but to say that they "stole" them from Nintendo is completely inaccurate.

#108063 GameStop Lists Multiple Wii U Games for November 13th Release

Posted by Deadly Virus on 15 September 2012 - 11:14 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't a bunch of Vita games go on sale before the release date earlier this year?

Entirely possible that they might wanna get some of the launch titles on the market a week or so before. Especially if the Wii U is going to be as popular as preorders indicate.

#107894 Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labrynth Coming to the 3DS

Posted by Deadly Virus on 15 September 2012 - 05:33 AM in General Gaming

Has a localization for this actually been confirmed yet?

Just wondering. I think there was a third Mystery Dungeon for DS which never got a western release..

#107834 unconfirmed mii software leaked!

Posted by Deadly Virus on 15 September 2012 - 03:02 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Amazon's a bit slow updating this stuff I think. Only a few games up for preorder there right now.

Still ordering my Wii U stuff from there though. It's cheaper than GAME, so I can't really complain. :P

#107434 Could Platinum become a Nintendo first/second party?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 14 September 2012 - 11:09 AM in General Gaming

Sega isn't involved with Bayonetta 2 it is published my Nintendo. I can see it now Bayonetta in Smash Bros 4........I would love that. If both The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 are successful I can see Nintendo and Platinum Games working together for quite a long time.

Sega is assisting to some degree, even if the game is primarily published by Nintendo. They do still own the Bayonetta IP I believe, so it makes sense.

#107427 Could Platinum become a Nintendo first/second party?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 14 September 2012 - 11:01 AM in General Gaming

Just a thought. First we had P-100, Wii U exclusive published by Nintendo. Now Bayonetta 2, which is the same, although Sega is involved as well.

With Sega in financial troubles, and Nintendo looking so eager to support Platinum even with more risky franchises, could it be possible that we might see them become even more close over the next few years?

It'll be interesting, that's for sure. I'll be awaiting the inevitable cries of "PLATINUM GAMES WERE NEVER GOOD!" if Nintendo ever decides to make a bold move and buy them out. :P

#106723 Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) Remake?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 12 September 2012 - 10:14 PM in General Gaming

How many times does it need to be said that 2006 is SA3? Seriously, SA3 has already happened. It was terrible.

Same formula, but you can hardly call it a true sequel.

They both essentially have the same gameplay, except, with the difference that SA1 and 2 don't play like they were in Beta version when Sega sent them out. :P

Also, the storyline. The Adventure series had it, and did it well IMO, but it was generally a much more light-hearted thing even if it knew when to get dramatic. Sonic 06 really seemed like an odd attempt to create a "mature" Sonic, and it just honestly came out plain bad, like the kind of thing I could have seen being written as a really poor fanfiction back 10 years ago.

That said, I don't think 06 needs to be remade, it'd just be a waste of time when Sonic Team should be making a new game instead.
