#84463 My impressions about Nintendo E3
Posted by 10k on 05 June 2012 - 11:00 AM in Wii U Games and Software
horsing terrible. Worst E3 since 2008 and probably as bad as E3 2003. This was your worst important time to hype your new console and draw in the hardcore and you show casual crap. I can't believe I'm going to say this but Ubisoft actually saved Nintendo's conference and is publishing the only launch games I care about right now!
I think it's time for Reggie and Iwata to leave Nintendo. Time for a culture change. The casual market doesn't exist anymore, we need people who know this to lead Nintendo.
At least I have my PS3 to look forward to, with god of war, last of us, playstation all-stars, and Beyond.
Pachter was right, this console will flop. And there were never any NDA's because there were no Wiien games being developed for the console to begin with!
I'm done with this console. See y'all next year.

#83739 Did your opinion change after Direct?
Posted by 10k on 04 June 2012 - 03:54 AM in Wii U Hardware
2) the classic controller pro
3) Social aspect/MiiVerse
All of those have hyped me up! The pro controller suits me for fighting games like SSBB since the tablet seems to big for that kind of experience. Might throw JRPGs into that category unless developers really make some unique games with it.
The MiiVerse makes me not dislike my Mii anymore and gives it a reason to exist.

#83341 Whats the possibility of the Wiiu Running Unreal Engine 4 with this information?
Posted by 10k on 03 June 2012 - 12:59 PM in Wii U Hardware
6800 cards are $150 at retail. Nintendo would be lucky to get that kind of card at $80 per unit.No its not cheaper.. Ok let me tell u what amd does..
They always create 3-4 models for laptops, consoles, etc.. chipstes.. this cards are 5650-6650-7650... 5670-6670-7670... etc... this models for any company who wants to use them, are cheap... VERY cheap.. 5-10 bucks for unit...
NOW.. 68xx series is 1 year OLDER (an upgraded version of 4xxx series) than 69xx series...so 68xx series is 3 years old and allready discontinued... the price is extremely low at this point. And right now 68xx series costs less than 60-80 bucks for the retail.. end license users. for nintendo should cost about 15-30 bucks per unit.. AND IT SOUND NORMAL if they trully want UE4 ... 6850 is very very cheap and 6870 is about 80 bucks.. (80 euro right now).. But even if nintendo use a 6770 equivalent, is going to be good, dont know about UE4 though...

Of course it uses more power and generates more heat, but it's cheaper and Nintendo likes to use old tech to bring down the cost of the console since they think ppl just buy the console for the software. The 6xxx series cards are still expensive. If you expect that kind of GPU power inside the Wii U then you are looking at a $400 plus console.dev4 and aftrwrds changed gpu and its not a coincidence, after the leak, AMD officially announced that radeon 4xxx and backwards, stopped being supported.
Either ways, there is lots of leaks after that, confirming this info, more like a 6xxx series... NO WAY to use a 5xxx series, as 5xxx series is hot as well and not power efficient.. I KNOW about 5xxx series. Its stupid choice compared to 6xxx series that is much much cooler and less power.

Get it out of your head bro, Nintendo is not going to use a 6800 equivalent GPU in the Wii U. Think more like a 5000 series which has the power of the 4000 series but with a tesselation unit. Think more like a 5750 in terms of power and performance.if rumors are true about 68xx series, then its REALLY strong for a console, I MEAN REALLY STRONG.. so yes it can do it.. Also, if nintendo really interested about UE4, then they also updated the modified card with the extra features.
#82452 Swear Filter
Posted by 10k on 01 June 2012 - 08:55 AM in Site News and Feedback
Can all be fixed by putting a swear filter to on my default but alow each user to toggle it off like n GAF or others. But I get your point. It's just really weird to read random pony references in the middle of a sentence. It makes me stop and reread what was posted and I have to fill in the blanks on what the author said loo.To those of you confused over why I allow swearing at MLP Forums and don't allow it here, first of all, being a brony has nothing to do with anything. I've written up a different ruleset for each of my two communities that I believe to suit each community's best interests, and don't believe in "one-size-fits-all" solutions. If both of my forums are supposed to have the exact same rules and policies just because I own them, I might as well merge them together into the same site. Would make management easier, right? It would actually be a disastrous scenario on multiple levels.
Believe it or not, the average member on MLP Forums is older than the average member here on TheWiiU.com. The members I have over there are generally less likely to take offense to swearing and don't actually do too much of it. The "CAPS LOCK PONY" topic Elric linked to is the exception rather than the norm, and if you look closely you'll see that it is in the site's equivalent of a "spam" section where not taking things seriously is virtually a rule (with that said, it is also an old topic and its author has since been chided for overdoing it as well). It's not exactly a good representative topic of the community over there.
We have a few users here who aren't even teenagers yet; and in my experience, debates over gaming tend to get very ugly very fast if people are allowed to swear. For this particular community, we can avoid a lot of potential issues by just not allowing profanity to begin with.

I would have to agree with Nollog with this one.
The Wii U is going to the 11 year old kid's garbage without Call of Duty. (The ugly truth.)
No....just no.....
#81509 Rumor: Wii U CPU said to support 8 threads, is 20X faster than Wii
Posted by 10k on 29 May 2012 - 05:51 AM in Wii U Hardware
Oh I completely agree. The trailers will be epic. Looking forward to the first look at Pikmin 3.Okay, really? You either think that specs we can read is the same as seeing trailers with amazing graphics, believe that Nintendo won't show any trailers, or that Nintendo won't have amazing graphics.
What ever you believe, I stand firm that Nintendo will show amazing trailers that demonstrates next generation graphics.

Yeah. So was I....GPU (Graphical Processing Unit)....Actually, I was talking about the graphics. I don't think Nintendo will release specs.
#81453 3DS vs Vita in power
Posted by 10k on 28 May 2012 - 07:21 PM in General Gaming
Don't jump the gun yet. Vita just launched. Revelations had two years of development time. Wait until next year when you start getting the first party exlusives like God of War or Resistance before comparing graphics. It would be more fair if I compared Ocarina of Time 3D to Uncharted lol.I agree with you. People (fanboys) can say the Vita is way more powerful, but when you compare the graphics, there is really not much of a difference.
But my point was, although there is a huge power gap in the two handhelds, it's difficult to notice the differences. They are not as blatant as DS to PSP. Shaders can make anything look good.

#81447 Rumor: Wii U CPU said to support 8 threads, is 20X faster than Wii
Posted by 10k on 28 May 2012 - 07:14 PM in Wii U Hardware
Our minds will be blown by software and features, but not the GPU. Nintendo doesn't release specs anymore, not since the fanboys laughed at them with the GameCube reveal (which gave real performance numbers, not theoretical ones like the PS2 and Xbox). The only reason we got specs from the DS, 3DS and Wii was because ppl buy them at launch and then disassemble them. Wii U power won't be known most likely until after launch.Even though the source isn't creditable, I still believe the specs. The POWER7 can be anything from 4 to 12 cores, and everything sounds reasonable. It's what I expect the specs to be at. To me, the CPU has never been the mystery -- it's the GPU that is all the fuss. So lets just wait a WEEK and get our MINDS BLOWN.
#81429 3DS vs Vita in power
Posted by 10k on 28 May 2012 - 04:51 PM in General Gaming
bahahahahaIt doesn't matter.
One has games, the other doesn't.
Hard to measure. Do you want to use FLOPS? Resolution? PPI?
The Vita can render more polygons, handle better lighting, AI and Physics (it is a quad core as compared to 3DS's dual core), 512MB of RAM instead of 3DS's 128MB. The Vita has a larger screen that plays at 544p
(qHD) while the 3DS can only manage 240p. But, the 3DS has a higher PPI (basically more clear because of more pixels per inch) and the 3D adds depth to games and also draws out power from the hardware.
If you want a BS multiplier I would say Vita is 3x that of the 3DS in specs.
It has twice as many CPU cores, and three times as much RAM.
It's not as noticable though because the 3DS supports shaders which can mask any bad looking character models. CAse and Point, look at RE: Revelations and compare it to Uncharted Golden Abyss. They don't look to far apart despite one more than twice the resolution as the other.
