#210606 What Nintendo OS now needs to do to compete

Posted by Pong on 23 May 2013 - 05:04 PM in Wii U Hardware

What would be the point of voice recognition? To say "Wii U, open New Super Mario Brothers U"? It wouldn't add much and only the GamePad has a mic, I don't think it has noise cancelling either.

It's faster just to tap on the game from the GamePad.

#207851 Summer Update!

Posted by Pong on 16 May 2013 - 06:10 PM in Wii U Hardware

They haven't even released Flipnote for 3DS and it has been years, I don't think they will add a detailed art program yet. Too bad, there are so many good artists on MiiVerse.

What do you want to see in the next update, do you think it will be shown in the Nintendo Direct tomorrow?

#203537 How loud is your wii u Disc Drive?

Posted by Pong on 03 May 2013 - 02:26 PM in Wii U Hardware

I'd love that feature...
But not likely. No other console allows this.

Xbox does.

Wiimote and pro controller can both interact with the home menu.

Netflix automatically kicks you out of any TV shows or movies when you open the home menu, it also turns off Wii Remotes. You have to use the GamePad. The only way would be to let the gamepad's battery run out or take it out of range until it turns off.

Then just turn the screen off through controller options

Then how will you get back to Netflix?

hit the home screen, controller options, then display off, use the wii mote to control it from there I think.

The controllers should all be coded the same if they were included in the box.

The Wii Remote is not compatible with Netflix.

#201563 Wii U or iPhone 5?

Posted by Pong on 29 April 2013 - 12:00 PM in Wii U Hardware

Don't buy an iPhone 5. It will be outdated before the end of the year, you should at least wait for the next iPhone.

#200954 Iwata Is Aware That People Believe That Wii U Is Underpowered And Says...

Posted by Pong on 27 April 2013 - 10:43 PM in Wii U Hardware

HA very true. Handhelds for Nintendo are a different story. Nintendo does a lot of revisions with their handhelds, something unique to them.

I wonder why they don't do that with the home consoles. It would be cool if every year or so they have a new design or color or something to help sell new consoles.

PSP 1000, PSP 2000, PSP 3000, PSP GO? It's not just Nintendo.

Anybody know how to put it into standby mode? All I seem to do is turn it off (red light) I have Rayman downloading now and wanted to try the standby thing, but can't figure It out.

The Wii U itself controls standby mode, sorry.

they made the gamepad turn off in wii mode, I will be happy as ever.

It does turn off.

#200394 GamePad Problem

Did you try turning the Wii U on with the TV remote?

It looks cleaner and is animated now.

It was always animated, there used to be arrows that span in a circle when you touched it.

I think they changed it to make it more clear.

I know but it only worked if the GamePad wasn't connected.

#199913 Starting a Wii to Wii U transfer, questions to anyone who already has

Posted by Pong on 25 April 2013 - 03:03 PM in Wii U Hardware

Can't the Wii U's wii mode connect to the 3DS like the Wii did? And I could just transfer them all that way?

No the 3DS has more Mii features so it isn't allowed to transfer to Wii.

#199902 Starting a Wii to Wii U transfer, questions to anyone who already has

Posted by Pong on 25 April 2013 - 02:41 PM in Wii U Hardware

I'm just taking a wild guess here. But what if you were to put the Miis you want on your Wii Remote ( on the Wii), preform the transfer to the Wii U, and then send them back to the Wii? I haven't done a system transfer yet either.

That would probably work, but it might treat them as Miis from another system and not let you use them.

#199886 Lost Wii U Controller.

Posted by Pong on 25 April 2013 - 02:14 PM in Wii U Hardware

If the Wii U GamePad is out of range turning the console on won't help. The battery also doesn't last a whole week. Make sure you've checked everywhere first.

#199883 Starting a Wii to Wii U transfer, questions to anyone who already has

Posted by Pong on 25 April 2013 - 02:08 PM in Wii U Hardware

Wii can transfer Mii's to 3DS, then you transfer those Mii's on the 3DS to the Wii U.

Dipper wants to transfer from the Wii U's Mii Channel back to regular Wii. Wii Remote transfer is disabled on the Wii U, and the 3DS can't transfer to regular Wii, so there is no way to do what he was asking.

#199866 Starting a Wii to Wii U transfer, questions to anyone who already has

ABCdude owns a 3DS

I think that's how I did it.

I have somehow, but I'm not sure how, but I assume it was wiiu to 3ds to wii.

3DS can't transfer to Wii.

#199841 Starting a Wii to Wii U transfer, questions to anyone who already has

Incorrect, Mii's cannot be transferred back to the Wii in any way. You'll have to make them over.

I am expecting this update, so I can  calculate the date I will buy my wii U, I will buy the revision with this update pre-installed.. and they delaying it? Normally wii Us with pre-installed updates, coming 3-4 months after the oficial release of the update.. so if they release the good update now, the ideal date to buy my wii U, is August! (with all pre-installed)

By then, the Summer update will have been released.

#199362 Looks like the update was delayed...

I'm moving my vote to Thursday.

Edit: I can't believe the update isn't out. :(

#199833 So how about this update.

Posted by Pong on 25 April 2013 - 11:42 AM in Wii U Hardware

There is emergency maintenance at 8pm EDT so I don't think it will be up then either.
