#173922 Take notes Nintendo

Posted by 16-bitLink on 21 February 2013 - 02:55 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Nintendo botched the launch by entrusting it to third parties who delayed, cancelled, and under delivered. E3 2013 is launch 2.0

Sonys conference kinda sucked.

The single greatest thing was the unreal 4 demo. And we saw that last year.

Knack is just stupid. Kill zone looks ok. And second son looks like a wii u game.

The controller looks like something out of the Sanford and Son junkyard and... Where the heck did Sony find so many creepy people to keynote?

Nintendo shouldn't take notes here.

But I will guarantee Microsoft has a much better, more focused reveal in store.

Wii u will likely bE the fun console. Xbox will likely be the more connected console. And ps4 will be the most powerful.

But in the end the Xbox and ps4 will look very similar and the wii u will be somewhat less, but still look good next to these two.

Sony launched this reveal early and it just didn't feel fully baked.
Like maybe they aren't confident going head to head with Nintendo at e3. It's also likely they didn't feel confident competing against a 720 reveal.

Sony revealed a great hardware specification. ESP the gpu and ram. But the games were not that great. And the overrall delivery of the keynote was lame. ESP the bald guy who tried too hard to sell his game by trying to stir up real life strife over the police... Just to sell a game. Lol

Dude NONE of the games looked like Wii U, I haven't seen or heard of any Wii U game looking half as good what they showed. PS4 is like 10x more powerful than Wii U already and now on top of that they have even BETTER 3rd party support, I dont know man Nintendo is falling behind fast, Zelda and Mario isn't going to save them anymore. It seems like Nintendo is still the "little kids" console and not going after the hardcore/ more serious games. I dont know how you think it sucked it was literally a small taste of whats to come, Nintendo better get thier shi* together because as of now my wii u looks like its going to be sold to help me get a ps4..

I like my Wii U I have had a lot of fun with it and I'm happy with it but after watching the reveal of the PS4 it blew my mind away. Like I said I like the Wii U but I felt Nintendo could have delivered much more than what they have. It also seems like Sony is going o deliver far more at launch and this is were the Wii U went wrong. Nintendo REALLY has to pull off something big if they even want to be mentioned next to PS4 and new xbox...If Nintendo doesn't deliver I guess I might have to sell my Wii U to get PS4 but I think Nintendo will get it together...Hopefully

#158165 How the Wii U will handle against the new Consoles?

Posted by 16-bitLink on 10 January 2013 - 03:29 AM in Wii U Hardware

I read somewhere that graphics can't go beyond 1080p, and that next generation consoles will have bigger games with better framerate, and crisper, but we'll never have another n64-gamecube or Xbox-Xbox360

Games are capable of far beyond 1080p, not so much now, only some can do it but by next gen and the gen after that 1080p will be "meh"...Sony is already saying the ps4 can support resolutions of around 3967x2760.

#154324 Wii U - A massive disappointment?

Posted by 16-bitLink on 31 December 2012 - 02:34 AM in Wii U Games and Software

The 3DS is also vulnerable, how can the 3DS with a tiny screen and games at $40 compete against the likes of the Nexus 7 which has a far bigger screen, more graphically advanced games which are a tenth of the price and are downloadable.

Nintendo can still make the Wii U a success but it needs a constant stream of AAA titles. But yes, I feel that $300 traditional consoles have very little time left, the future for gaming is tablets and cloud boxes.

the future of tablet gaming is for casual gamers, and that's a LONG way ahead. Most hardcore gamers laugh at tablet games and things on the iPhone. At best they're something to play for 4min on the toilet. How is Nintendo in financial trouble, do you realize that the Wii outsold every console this gen? Not to mention all the money they saved from having to produce highend hardware. You're talking about the casual market, people that play angry birds or COD for 1hr a week you think this is taking over? Think again console gaming and PC gaming will always reign supreme, sure tablets and phones have come a long way but if you think most gamers are going to stop playing their beloved console/PC you're sorely mistaken. I wouldn't be caught dead spending more than 5$ for a game on some crappy tablet when I can get the best experience on my console or pc.

#153727 Quick question

How would I know if certain games are compatible with Wii classic controller? Does it say on the game?

#153576 AC3 Difficulty?

Posted by 16-bitLink on 29 December 2012 - 01:41 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Meh I thought AC3 was too easy, just like most games nowadays...only a few games are challenging and ac3 is not one of them, we'll for me atleast. C'mon devs make games more challenging!!!

#153388 Quick question

If I wanted to buy a Wii game, lets say skyward sword, would I be able to play with the Wii classic controller? Or do I have to use the Wii remote for motion controls? Because I have a Wii U and I know you can't play wii games with the gamepad..are there any other accessories I would need to play any Wii game on the Wii u in general?

#152426 Rayman Legends confirmed to run at 1080p 60fps.

Posted by 16-bitLink on 27 December 2012 - 01:05 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Um, ok. I don't want to get in a flame war. Obviously I'm just generalizing. But most people wouldn't tell the difference, or don't have a 1080p television anyway. 720-1080 are very similar, while DVD to Blu Ray is going from standard def to HD. Aren't Blur Rays just 24 fps? Does that really bother you?

The difference between 720p and 1080p is easily noticeable, maybe you need glasses. People not having a 1080p tv is a different argument, which is probably false since its relatively cheap to afford a tv that plays 1080p. Blu rays play higher than 24 fps, not sure of the exact number but atleast around 50...I guess it depends on which player you have as we'll as your tv.

#152418 Zombie U Two, What would you add/change to the Game ?

Posted by 16-bitLink on 26 December 2012 - 11:12 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Has anyone made a u2 jokes yet or should I be the first.
Add Bono as a zombie for us to kill, I'd enjoy that.

Seriously if they make a sequel, they're going to drop the survival and turn it into dead island, so more melee weapons would be nice.

Beat you to it ;)

#152042 nice little article on lego city undercover

Oh no there were several things that stand out about that situation, and I could care less if IGN has the same opinion as me about that game.  First, IGN does have a very bad habit of pumping games up and even going as far as to call them killer apps....then their review contradicts the excitement of their previews.  I get that other IGN editors besides Greg enjoyed the game, but my response is then why give the game to Greg to review.  I don't think that Greg can be taken seriously anymore as an unbiased reviewer, and that is exactly what a game like ZombiU deserved.  Greg is the same guy that gave Uncharted 3 a straight up 10, and I think it was clear in his review that ZombiU is not his type of game.  He wanted to be able to run and gun like Left for Dead and that is simply not how that game is played.  I also got the distinct impression that Greg never finished the game from the wording of his review.  Lastly, I also get that this is one man's review, but that one man is representing a game site that has a ton of pull in the industry.  It is pretty bad when your reviewer gives a game a 6.3, and from that day forward your site is continuing to give a game that you define as "totally mediocre" a ton of coverage.  Sorry but when you see the incredible amount of love that the Miiverse community gives this game sites like IGN, Gamespot, and EGM should be embarrassed.  At the least I think the game deserves "second opinion" reviews from those sites.

Instead of blaming the person that reviewed the game did you ever stop to think it deserved the score...first of all 6.3 in terms of the rating scale IGN uses is considered a decent game, which is exactly what zombi U is. The controls are kinda sluggish and not very responsive, combat is terrible, no variety in melee weapons (really in a zombie apocalypse???), story is bland and boring (if you even wanna call it a story) graphics are "meh", sound effects are horrible...the only thing zombi U managed to get right is creating a scary environment and the need to survive. If it didn't hit those 2 things it would have been an absolute failure..but I see zombi u as a work in progress and I see potential for a sequel, but as of now zombi u is a (at best) decent game to have fun with. I think it deserves at best a 6.5-7.0...

#151693 Zombie U Two, What would you add/change to the Game ?

Posted by 16-bitLink on 25 December 2012 - 12:12 AM in Wii U Games and Software

1. Bump in graphics
2. Better/more responsive controls
3. Slightly less linear
4. more variety in melee weapons
5. Better/ more in depth story
6. Better combat
7. Dont call it Zombi u two, sounds like Bono from U2 might sue for copyright...just call it Zombi U (insert badass name)
