#316527 MK7 Trophies

Posted by grahamf on 11 August 2015 - 09:46 AM in General Gaming

They look awesome... wish I could get my hands on them too.

It's not hard, I got a lot of my posters and Japanese Nintendo swag from eBay. The seller cashes in his points/stars and has Nintendo mail it directly to you if possible.

You may want to wait for prices to go down though...

#316555 Nintendo Explains Why It Won't Annualize Smash Bros. And Mario Kart

Why is annulizing even a discussion?

#316571 Nintendo Explains Why It Won't Annualize Smash Bros. And Mario Kart

Posted by grahamf on 12 August 2015 - 11:02 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Simply because Moffitt was asked the question.  :)  I think even the interviewer knew what the answer would be, but it's nice to get a bit more depth and perspective from someone who can speak about it.

But what's the point in asking? It's not the point that it would ruin the game, as much as the Smash line doesn't have anything that can be changed anually.

#316615 Windows 10

Posted by grahamf on 15 August 2015 - 12:05 PM in The Café

Screen rotates upside down when I put my "tablet" in portrait mode...

Also, this is not a bug, but I can't seem to find a windows 10 compatible driver for Splendid Utility, it stopped working properly in W 10, but supposedly Asus updated it with a fix but I didn't get anything...

Do you have a Book Flip? I have the TP500LN and have the rotation isue.

Not sure about Splendid, I did a clean reinstall and I did not put Splendid back on.

#316619 Windows 10

Posted by grahamf on 15 August 2015 - 04:02 PM in The Café

I have the same exact computer actually... i3 processor and 720p screen, correct?

EDIT: I lied... Mine is the TP500LA.

I have the i5 and Nvidia 840m, with 15" 1366x768 screen. I tried to get a version with the SSD cache but I couldn't find one, so I upgraded the drive to a 1TB Hybrid.

Aside from the rotation problem, Windows 10 works wonderfully on this laptop. It even replaced the Asus driver with an Elan version that gives me better control - though it means that FlipLock can't disable it anymore.

#316627 Super Mario Maker: 60 Levels Confirmed; One by Rayman's Michel Ancel

Has anyone predownloaded it from the eShop yet?

#316628 Windows 10

Posted by grahamf on 16 August 2015 - 05:57 AM in The Café

If you reinstall smart gesture it fixes that, I had that issue for a while.

But after you do that, you can still access your Elan settings.

I'll try that. I think I had uninstalled it as it overrode my custom Elan settings (tap disabled, right corner set to left click, two finger right click, three finger middle click)

EDIT: Yep. I'm stuck with the limited Asus settings. I'm uninistalling it again as I can easily hit fn+f9 if it bothers me.

#316633 Windows 10

Posted by grahamf on 16 August 2015 - 01:33 PM in The Café

You can't if the keyboard is disabled :)

How long does the battery on yours last? And have you noticed the speakers being too quiet?

The batterry can last up to five or more hours at best case, but I usually keep it plugged in. I don't find the speakers that bad, but I had to get USB headphones because my audio jack is rainbow.

Oh, if you set one of the settings to "live" in realtek audio settings it makes them a lot louder.

The problem is that the jack outputs 50% noise. Any attempts at fixing it just amps up the noise.

#316663 Official FINISH THE GAME Challenge!

Posted by grahamf on 19 August 2015 - 06:03 PM in The Café

I challenge you to take up a game that you started over five years ago but only got partly through and FINISH IT

I had gotten Twilight Princess eight or so years ago, and played it like mad up until the stupid carriage escort. Now I'm in the Sky!

Anyone see that Metroid imitation level that gamexplain did a video on the other day? It looked genuinely decent.

Please don't say "predownloaded" is a word. Oh well, it could be worse. I genuinely read the word "pre-preheat" the other day.

#316709 Why is there no Reset button?

Posted by grahamf on 24 August 2015 - 06:05 AM in Wii U Hardware

The reset button doesn't even work consistently on the Wii. The three or so times my Wii U locked up not even the power button did snything.

It makes sense on older consoles where the power and reset buttons physically cut power, but not on newer ones that rely on ACPI or something.

#316776 Wii U Refurb with Nintendo Land and Super Mario 3D World

It comes with the digital version of Nintendo Land? The digital version has been removed from the eShop years ago.

I can probably install it on my Blackberry. Depends on how much google play services is needed and if Lucky Patcher works.

I ordered a new gaming laptop, a Lenovo Y40-80. I was getting tired of my compromise.

#316902 Nintendo's New President

Posted by grahamf on 14 September 2015 - 01:46 PM in General Gaming

he looks a little scared. He will put trust in his people which is good, but he'll have to make sure that he keeps a good grip on the reigns.

#316904 Does this remind you of anything?

Posted by grahamf on 14 September 2015 - 08:03 PM in General Gaming

poor fools. They imitate and copy Nintendo wherever they can, but they always seem to just miss the point.

#316947 How do I get my bricked Wii U fixed?

Posted by grahamf on 20 September 2015 - 07:04 PM in Wii U Hardware Help

try unplugging the Wii U for a few minutes and force shut down the controller by pressing and holding the power button until the screen shuts off. Then plug the wii u in again and hit either power button.

I don't remember if we had a thread like this

#316966 Game wishlist

Posted by grahamf on 30 September 2015 - 03:46 PM in Wii U Games and Software

These are games that you wish Nintendo will launch. Considering how previous threads went I will not ask you to be realistic.

My ideas:

Captain Toad: Treasure Maker. Like Mario Maker, it allows you to create and share your own threads.

Mario 3D Maker. Same idea, but might be a lot more complex to make.

Super Mario Theatre. For Wii U. A lot like a dream cross between Galaxy and SM3DW, but the bottom screen always shows a band/orchestra of toads, koopas, etc that actually play the song (and with as accurate movement as possible). These players would be very animated, keeping the same emotion as the music. Additionally, you can manipulate the band/orchestra to alter the world (such as tapping on the secret item special effect player would wake him up and him playing would reveal the special item.

Paper Mario: Pop-up Star. This would try to make Paper Mario as photorealistic as possible, as if you're watching a high-speed stop-motion production of TTYD. No low quality psudocardboard like LittleBigPlanet though; The Mushroom Kingdom deserves high gloss cardstock. Maybe the occasional paper joke but please don't go overboard ("You can't defeat me... I'm laminated!")
