As many of you know by, now at least to those of you that don't under a rock- North Korea and South Korea might possibly go head-to-head in war.

Here are some articles on the subject:

http://www.nytimes.c...?pagewanted=all

http://www.foxnews.c...nuclear-attack/

http://www.foxnews.c...china-alliance/

http://www.thedailyb...orth-korea.html

http://www.latimes.c...0,2498190.story

Now it's not secret that North Korea and South Korea can't tolerate each other. Many people feel it's another scare-tactic from North Korea, but I feel that they'll actually go through with their threat this. Norea Korea has also threaten to bomb the United States as well if they get involved. Many people feel that North Korea will try a limited Chenonan type attack on South Korea.

Its kind of shocking how the local media (at least my local newstations), aren't making a big deal out of a possible war that the US might get involved in.

So, lets discuss!

You know....

If they changed their names so they weren't North Korea and South Korea, then the Koreans won't hate each other so much. They'll be like "We ain't at war no more, Seouljahs!"

"Yeah, whatever, Pongs..."

---

They threaten us with Nuclear missiles but we know the specs of said missiles wut?

I think it is definitely possible. I think a year or so ago they also passed threats like this, so I have a feeling that tensions are getting even higher. I think the main concern though is if they will launch a nuclear weapon, which could potentially cause a disastrous situation. There is no way to know for sure. I think that if tension levels get even higher it is very possible that there could be a war.

North korea sputh korea and the us have been at war for over 40 years.

We were under a ceasefire this whole time. But always still at war.

North Korea is a very, very, messed up place. I feel sorry for its people.

There seems to be a new report every day on the news about it. Each time, it's slowly escalating and it will just get worse.

Could be a look how powerful we are type bluff, but to be fair without China backing them the yanks will crush North Korea, they may well have nukes but the tech is very out of date! anything they launch would not get to the target location.

Even if they did their Nuclear yield is very low. It would be devastating to South Korea or any targets in the US....buuuuut America has some heavy yield nuclear weapons so in retaliation North korea would be wiped off the map.

Seems like a Mexican standoff....

There's not much I can say...  Inevitably, if North Korea continues this pattern, they probably will attack South Korea.  Needless to say North Korea isn't a match for the US, China, and other countries...  But that doesn't tell if their allies will try anything...

Who is North Korea's strongest ally? That could be a decision maker.

Seoul believes North Korea may test missile this week

South Korea's government said Sunday that it believes North Korea may test a missile about April 10, citing as an indicator Pyongyang's push for workers to leave the Kaesong Industrial Complex by then.

Seoul "is on military readiness posture," South Korea's Blue House spokeswoman Kim Haeng said in a briefing. She said national security chief Kim Jang-soo also based the assessment on North Korea's hint to foreign diplomats in Pyongyang to send personnel out of the country.

The Blue House is the office and residence of South Korea's president, similar to the White House in the United States.

"As of now, nothing out of the ordinary has been detected," she said on Kim's behalf. "If limited war is to break out, North Korea should bear in mind that it will receive damages many times over."

China. But even they aren't happy with what is going on down there.

I seriously doubt it. North Korea is just flexing their muscles and they know if they try something stupid they everyone will nuke them.

Who is North Korea's strongest ally? That could be a decision maker.

North Korea is essentially a rogue nation with no real allies.

China said they will abandon North Korea if they do it

They should have abandoned any envolvement with North Korea long ago other than just to mediate with them.

No, they won't.

I agree.
