I thought the console was halfway through its lifetime so microsoft will ruin that plan. Plus, unlike sony, they never said its real.

I'm sure that the Xbox 360 will last a long time. I don't think Microsoft don't want to release a new system, as the 360 is doing great and is still receiving a lot of support, it also is has Kinect. So I wouldn't count on an Xbox 720 here anytime soon.
