Glad we didn't get another Prime out of the deal.  Retro should stay away from Metroid and leave it to Nintendo's Japanese development teams.

Thats a refreshingly different opinion.

While I dont agree with retro shelving the prime series, I would love to see another entry in classic metroid style. Parts of other m were absolutely fantastic. Keep whats good, fix what went wrong.

I never was able to play that game, and I really, really wanted to.

I was disappointed at first, but then I considered something:

If they were working on Metroid, they would have only had a little time with mature dev tools. I would rather get an amazing Metroid game, from start to finish, than something like Lego City, where later parts look much better.

I would actually like the Prime Trilogy remastered, then a new game right after personally. Metroid needs to be an instant 10 when released.

I didn't care for the original Country's as much and I'm excited for it! It looks fantastic and they are pulling some mechanics from two of my favorite platformers; Mario Bros. 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog, to round out Country's game play. That's like the third game I've seen for wii u to take some notes from what I consider the highly under rated SMB2. (Luigi U and Mario 3D world also take some cues from it). We will get a Metroid. That's why I'm not upset about it. I'm cool with the decision because now it feels like they can take their time and make a great Metroid rather than having a "oh &^%$!! We have to hurry and finish this thing before the holidays!! Qucik! Put a different cover on Other M, no one played it so no one will know the difference!!" XD

The only time we ever DIDN'T get Metroid was N64 really (and Virtual Boy I guess but we don't talk about him...He lives in the attic and we bring him fish heads). So we will get one I'm not concerned. Star Fox....There is a bigger risk with him. There is a chance of us not getting one and a chance that when we do it won't be real star fox. So that one you can sweat about if you like but the fan desire seems pretty good right now so we may pull through yet.

They might have done DK first not only because it sells (and Nintendo needs games that sell), but so they get accustomed to the new hardware, so they know every in and out when they make a bigger game.

I personally am fine with DKCTF, being that Retro will have more than enough time to develop a different game after TF releases this holiday. Anyways, DKCR was a fantastic game, and this already looks vastly better. I'm looking forward to it. Metroid will come, and it will be great. Just not right now.
