Frostbite

The days of EA support for the Wii U seem all but finished. Nothing said by EA directed towards the Nintendo Wii U has been positive for several months, even after promising a great relationship with Nintendo around the launch of the system. Yet there is some hope for EA support for the Wii U.

You can read more on this after the break:

The company will be using the well-known Frostbite 3 engine on the XBox One and Playstation 4. However, in a recent interview with 4gamer, EA did offer subtle support using the engine for the Wii U. EA Label Executive VP, Patrick Söderlund, was quote saying:

Our idea is giving omnidirectional support to all platforms as before

Electronic Arts released Mass Effect 3 and FIFA 13 for the Wii U, but currently we’re focusing our resources on Xbox One and PS4, so it’s a fact that the priority [of the Wii U] is slightly lower. Howerver making Frostbite 3 work on the Wii U is not impossible. Where there are gamers, we’ll be there as well. This is the true meaning of “omnidirectional”.

It appears EA hasn’t given up on the Wii U completely. It  might help their case with Nintendo gamers if EA would take a large chance by pushing a few games for the Wii U. Perhaps that would bring an install base they are looking for on the console.
