Finally! About time too, I've been waiting for this since the Wii U, Miiverse and NNID's were originally anounced, I honestly thought Nintendo might have dropped the idea and used it with thier next gen handheld in a few years time.

I don't think so, because otherwise Wii VC games would be free to download in Wii U vc.
It might have a good discount for games you own though.
