Hey folks.

Here's a few tunes I made in the past. Most are wma's and one mp3.
Check em out!

1) A quick intro 'Game Theme' tune
Attached File  THEME.wma   1.17MB   405 downloads

2) This would be a 'Town' that you visit
Attached File  TOWN.wma   2.54MB   224 downloads

3) This was for like a 'Native village'
Attached File  NATIVE.wma   1.96MB   360 downloads

4) I envisioned a 'Wacky alien workshop' thing with this one
Attached File  FUNNYALIENS.wma   1.29MB   421 downloads

5) Finally, a jingle that was inspired by one of the old 'Sonic' games
Attached File  Sonic-ish.mp3   12.72MB   281 downloads

enjoy...

I've listened to the first three, I really like the first one sounds very gamey I could just imagine running around with a character to that music :D. The second one reminds me of walking around a town in one of the older Final Fantasy games. I'll listen to the other two tomorrow.

The first one reminds me of Kingdom Hearts and something else... might be final fantasy.

The town theme sounds like it really came out of a Final Fantasy game, specifically FF3 imo :D

The Native sound reminds of Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass and also the Wind Waker!

Funny Alien one just sounds like some kind of cave with water drops all over.

The last one seems more Megaman-like to me.

Anyways, overall: GREAT WORK!!!

I listened to it all, and here are my thoughts. :)

Theme:
very nice! I love the instrumentation. It really gives off the "heroic" feeling. Melody is extremely repetitive though, but it's a very nice melody nonetheless. The chord at 0:29 is very questionable. I find it a bit weird. Should have used the same chord as 0:26. I don't have perfect pitch...so my suggestion may not work. xD The music sounds like it would be in some rpg game.

Town:
This is very beautiful. Simple chord progressions, yet you used it very beautifully, especially with the instrumentation. It sounds more like a calm sea side village. :) I looooved how you sneaked in the piano...now THAT was gorgeous.

Native:
Again...impressed with the instrumentation. This indeed does sound like a native village, deep in a forest. I think the nice slow pace is perfect! This is also very nice. :)

Funny aliens:
that woodblock like sound is incredibly catchy. I like it! I looove the use of stero sound too. Makes it all the cooler. xD Love the ambient sounds used.

Sonic-ish:
This is TOTALLY Sonic style with a modern beat to it. Very impressive! It's catchy as well. It's like...Sonic at the disco. xD

Anyways, you have an amazing collection of composition. Do consider putting these in a video game. You have talent. :) Where did you get the samples and what program do you compose with? :)

Thanks guys!! Thanks for taking the time.

@starrgrl24: A fellow musician ey? Excellent! I've always appreciated a good critique.

-Aw really? the chord on :29 that's like my fav chord!!!
See, the song was in A Maj and that chord was actually just an inverted a minor 7. Not too much of a stretch, at least, I don't think.
I felt it was a great tension moment for leading into the following crescendo section. I guess I felt it needed it. The rest was all major and needed a break. ;)

Imagine a intro from an RPG, with a blend of cutscenes. That moment would be where they briefly show one of the main bad guys... then some slight struggle (craschendo)... then triumph! (loop back)

- :) Yes FF3 (or 6, depending on where you're from) was the inspiration for sure. I loved that game! I actually made a mock, live accoustic, folk-style guitar solo of the 'Figaro Castle' theme.
I even programmed in concert applause and ppl screaming in the crowd! lol. Pretty funny. Wish I still had it. I'd post it.
and I can totally envision a sea side town too, but it would also have to have a peach colored sunset overtone to it. That's the color I see when I hear this.

- :) Thank you, my favorite part on this would be the dissonance with the pads and the building into the all instrument explosion.

- I always thought this one sounded a bit goofy, and I'm glad you like it.

- Oh yeah Sonic. but I guess I can hear it working for a Mega Man game too Brian.

Thanks again.

and the first 4 were made on my Korg Triton several years ago. The Sonic-sh one was on my Korg m3 about a year ago now.

some old songs that inspired me.

Music is very subjective. :) Well...an A minor 7th? Geeeze...no wonder it felt weird at first. It caught me off guard because it was just sudden, buuut it resolves very nicely back into the major.

Oh I see that you use synthesizers. I don't really own any which is why I just use vsts for finale and/or fl studio. You have amazing equipment. :D Also, I am a music education major studying piano and composition so yeah. xD Are you some kind of music major? D:

May I ask which music program you used to make these masterpieces?

lol. Yes, it is subjective. Which is what makes it so cool. That's awesome that you're going to school for it. I actually was going for my AFA (associate of fine arts degree), but that program was cancelled at my school... or something (I never did find out what really happened. Funding, perhaps?). Plus, my life took a pretty cool turn. I plan to go back and get a degree of some kind, but I'm actually doing okay for myself right now.

Ah yes, finale is great. I haven't had a chance to jump into fl studio too much. I also use Reason and I just recently picked up the Maschine. I love that thing. I run it all thru Protools.

I'd love to hear some stuff you made.
