Rareware needs to come back! That would get n64 fans to come to the wii u!

Wii U Sports and Banjo Kazooie: Trains and Planes. Can't wait.

And alot of n64 fans own a wii u already.

What Nintendo seem to need NOW to me is a breeding program going worldwide to wipe out idiocy.
It is the only solution.

Here is 0.000000001% of the reason I believe this:

nintendo: Look at this new console, but Wii that, the controller is what we want you to look at and see how fun it is to play with this new controller!
people: oh, it's a new controller for the wii.
nintendo: this is how the wii and wii u are different, and the wii u is a whole new console.
people: oh, it's a new controller for the wii.
nintendo: HERE IS A GIANT ARROW SAYING "NEW CONSOLE" ON IT.
people: ???

It does truly amaze me at how Nintendo can basically write stuff down in bold letters and people STILL can't get it through their heads.

Nintendo really needs to advertise more.

What they should do is include them on TV shows like "The Big Bang Theory", you could have Sheldon hilariously correct someone who thought the WiiU was an add on, this would really boast product recognition. The "Whip" sound IOS app became extremely popular after one episode, same could happen for WiiU.

For me what i want nintendo to do the following things for the Wii U and 3DS to be an epic success:

  1. Ditch the gamepad and relaunch the Wii U in 2014 with a redesign console that will be 50% larger than older wii u models and bundle it with a new upgraded pro controller that will come it both black or white with a game and DVD/Blu-ray player for $299.99(pretty damn good deal if you ask me).
  2. get rid of the the 8GB and 32GB flash memory models and replace it with a more powerful 300GB model.
  3. change the console op to be fully operated by the pro controller.
  4. replace the the menu and interface screens for both the wii u and 3ds and give a more western look the playstation and xbox but 10x better and also take off the noise the background and make it as silent as possible like the playstation.
  5. improve nintendo network and make similar to playstation network such as more features.
  6. i think this is a good idea for nintendo to get a fresh start as it really needs and deserves a chance at a new oppurtunity to win the core and hardcore gamer back as with the 1st party games coming plus the improvements to the wii u brand 3rd party developers will come back supporting the nintendo platform fully.

anybody feel free to reply and give me your opinions about who you feel about the post!!i would very happy to hear from fellow fans and nintendo themselves. :)

1. Why on earth would you want a 50% larger console? Ditching the main controller? Why?

2. 64 GB or 128 GB of flash memory would be the ideal amount for Premium bundles.

3. Totally agree with this one. Fortunately, Nintendo has already done this, except for the eShop.

4. Western look? No. A more modern look would be much better, and a unified UI between Wii U and 3DS would be ideal.

5. What features is Nintendo Network missing exactly?

6. A good marketing campaign for a change would be enough.

If you try to fail and succeed, which have you done?

As you mentioned, it should have happened before it was released.

The problem with the game showing is that it`s not part of Nintendo`s plan to show so far ahead - that`s why we have several NDs throughout the year. They do show stuff (B2, X, Mario kart 8) but not a whole lot. Not to mention they never had the same 3rd party support XB1 and PS4 have.

What i would see as a very good and decisive move would be a special show - yes, a live show - dedicated to Indie games with newsporters from all venues covering the show. Add in Virtual Console games, of course.

Call it the Nintendo difference: why we are the Indie console - you`d even have a tablet as a controller, so what more would you want?

Show the casual/non-gamer crowd that they can play more than thos retail games they see and i bet sales would increase.

In terms of your regular games, it will take time (another E3) before Wii U can impress people with a meaty release schedule!

What Nintendo NEEDS to do:

1) Find a way to pump out AAA Nintendo games faster.  Hire more staff, outsource certain projects to capable teams, etc.  But Nintendo FIRST party games are needed with faster turnaround than ever. GET THE GAMES OUT.

2) ADVERTISE!!! For crying out loud, I remember being a little kid seeing the "Now your'e playing with power!" ad everywhere.  you couldn't go anywhere without being confronted with the Nintendo console.  The N64 didn't do too bad either in advertising.  the Wii U needs mindshare that becomes marketshare.  DO IT.  the Wii U is a NEXT gen system.  And has a next gen control scheme.  Advertise it as such.  the only competitor there is the X1.  also, advertise the new capabilities aside from the controller.  Sure, the PS4 has stronger graphics, but the Wii U fares very well next to it.  Showcase the graphics power.  it's OK.  And advertise the heck out of the miiVerse, tvii, hulu, etc. as part of an overrall look.  and do it with a serious tone.  Not everything has to be cheeky.

3) SPEED UP THE DANG OS! The thing lags.  It's irritating.  The 360 does better and it's ancient.  People are used to iOS style experiences now with IOS itself, Android, WP8, etc. Reduce the silly, cluttered, overly decorative (gloss, shadow, etc.) stuff and just make it fast. Like near instant.  Please.

What would be NICE of Nintendo to do:

1) Be evil and court exclusives that other console makers are used to having on their systems (like Call of Duty...)

2) Get rid of the silly UI and annoying sounds. Or at least have a "grown up" version. One way to do it would be based on profiles.  If your profile says you are 12 years old, then it uses the current UI.  If it says you are 22, it uses a modern, minimalist one with either no sounds or just a few, but none of the toyish sounding stuff.

A great UI makes a huge difference in perception as well as in usage.

Nintendo has the money, I don't see why they don't just fire their current advertising team and hire a new team that at least knows how to spell "Advertisement".

Because like many Japanese companies they are stubborn when it comes to change.

Just look at Square Enix and the failure that was FFXIV or what Sega has done with Sonic over the years. They have the money, but don't know how to spend it.
