It's so great that we're fighting over wether it's CGI, AR, or real time Wii U footage, because AR is literally using real life backgrounds, so the graphics for the backgrounds can't get any better, and CGI is the best rendering possible since it's being done by a more powerful computer and not in real time. I think it's real time Wii U footage.

The fact that we even had this argument proves that the Wii U is more than powerful enough.

This definitely isn't a Wii U game, it's way too good looking. Must be CGI.

Wait, it IS a Wii U game?

Haha, thought so, the graphics look terrible! I bet the Xbox 360 could run it easily!

:P

it looks to me like it is some kind of HD battle program that uses the Wii street U thing to generate an image and overlay it with an HD Augmented Reality battle arena. Why would the pokemon company put a car in the background of one of their games? plus once you get a certain distance into the background nothing looks like a pokemon game anymore.

Look closer, just in front of the car. See the electric forcefield type thing there? I don't think they exist in real life. Definitely not streetview.

Yeah... That's not AR. It might look pretty realistic because of the Wii U's power coinciding with the low quality of the picture, but I'd bet it's a realtime render.

Of course, I know nothing about the technical parts of consoles, so I'm pretty much spouting educated fanboyism. :P

I'm saying that force field is the end of the AR. By your logic it's not street Jew because lucario doesn't exist in real life. I'm saying this looks like AR on a streetview image. Everything behind the force field is just real life stuff and everything in front of it is AR. Or at least could be. I am just saying what I think it could possibly be. I desperately hope I'm wrong.

Thats not possible how you describedbecause there are objects that cross that 'plane' you think is designated by the force field, the whole scene would need to be real footage with the characters and balloons and forcefield rendered on top of it, which would be impossible as there would be rendered objects in front of/behind real objects, which is impossible for a z buffer.

However, a photo skybox for the background beyond rendered geometry is perfectly plausible, although its used in basically every modern game ever made.

Also, real cars tend to be, well, real cars that exist in real life with things like manufacturer logos, head lights, and turn indicators.

Based on the quality of the teaser this looks like a Wii U game, but I think it's just going to be another stadium game which would be pretty fun with a really good online and competitive ladder to climb.

That is definitely not real, and there in this trailer of X and Y there is cars in the cities so I'm assuming it's perfectly normal to have cars in Pokemon?

Turns out its most likely a tekken-esque fighting game called 'pokken' in trademark, made by namco.

That looks so cool! But only gen 1 and maybe some gen 2 are good. It would be better if they stopped with making those ugly new pokemon..
