I was looking at these yesterday. Looking very nice. Great amount of work and polish has gone into the game since the reveal at e3.

The wet look is nicely done. I like the water on the screen too. Nice effect.

The water on the screen and slick textures are so good. I still love the plastic look on everything. Nintendo seems to be giving their all on this mario.

Just hope it isn't short and easy :P

My word. Nintendo continues to prove my theory that they make the  best looking games for their own systems. This looks beautiful.

This game just keeps looking better and better, and I'm extremely ready to play it.  I won't be getting a Wii U until Christmas time, but this will be the first game I get for it.  The hype is starting to get pretty high too which is great for Nintendo.  It's hard for me to imagine this game not delivering big time.

What's with bad anti alias in shadows in a LOT of games? Especially  on X360 game.  This game actually looks a lot better than games on said platform, but jaggies are a thing that can bother me.  Nevertheless I think this game will look amazing on my HDTV.

This sounds like something straight from an infomercial. :P

Also, I didn even notice the shadows. But then again, there wasn´t much blood left in my brain after looking at those pictures if you know what I mean.

A lot of people just didn't look close enough at e3.

I'd imagine it's because you'll only be seeing them full movement and probably won't pay much attention to them in-game.

Ideal world they'd be aliased though.

true and they were jumping the gun judging the graphics and look on a live stream that was jittery like a person who drank too much coffee. After the live stream I went back and watched the direct again and viewed the higher res screens released and thought it looked good back then. Still, i think they have cranked things up even more since that time.

Second to none, the developers at Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development Tokyo have done the most epic job at improving the HD graphics and I'm sure the play control will be an ultra breeze--  Game Pad, Wii Motion Plus, or the U Pro controller.  I'm most definitely gonna save up all my $$$ and purchase Super Mario 3D World!

In the end, I don't think I will mind them that much. I don't notice them at all in tiny screenshots, but on bigger zoomed in screens, the game just doesn't look as perfect. But still pretty good.

I'm getting really hyped for this game, it's improved a lot since E3. Can't wait to get it. I hope it's a little longer than 3D Land.

This game looks better and better with each media release!

I knew i was right when the first trailer came out and i felt there was more to this game than what was shown! Glad i was right!

After the shadows are calculated, they are turned into a texture. The higher res the texture, the more memory it takes, the less jaggie it looks.

The smaller the res, the less memory is used on them, the more jagged they look. PS4/Xbone have a lot of memory to blow, this will be one of fhe areas they have a very noticable advantadge over wii u.

I find it interesting marios drop shadow is noticably higher res than the environment shadow.

Those shadows are likely fighting for space in the 32Mb of on board gpu memory, along with the high res cube maps, specular maps, embm maps and other fancy render targets seen in that scene.

Really? I thought that baked-in shadows only applied whenever there's a fixed camera angle and non-moving objects. But once you start talking about dynamic camera's and moving objects its hard to imagine that the shadows are pre-rendered. At least that what I learned while creating 3d scenes.

What the world needs is more geniuses with humility, there are so few of us left
