Cause you know.......They bought and killed Rare besides 1 great thing and that's Killer Instinct out of the 10 years they had them, and if they get their hands on another successful Nintendo developer for the Xbox One......................Would you buy it?

This thread is lame imo, Microsoft wouldn't buy Monolith Soft. You do know that the XBOX brand is pretty much dead in Japan right? Doubt they would buy a Japanese developer just to localize games in the US.

Nintendo owns majority shares in Monolith Soft (96%) and the rest is owned by the founders of the studio, I don't see them selling their shares to Microsoft. Nintendo didn't own majority shares in Rare (49%), Microsoft then eventually bought majority shares. So Nintendo sold their shares to Microsoft because they would never have got anything published with Microsoft owning that much of the company.

So not gonna happen unless Nintendo doesn't see Monolith being profitable anymore.

I don't see Xbox as really being the home for the kind of games that Monolith Soft makes.  There were a few JRPG's at the beginning of the Xbox 360's life but then it died off pretty thoroughly.

Rare didn't make this new Killer Instinct, so I don't see why that has any relevance to your topic.

for someone who made this topic is just dumb. Did you even do your search about Killer Instinct or even Monolith Soft.

Ms bought rare because Nintendo didn't contest it.

Rare was done by then and Nintendo didn't mind one bit.

Judging by what they've done since, it seems Nintendo was right to let them go.

Be extremely confused as to how Microsoft bought a completely Nintendo-owned company.
