Respawn has confirmed that Titanfall's maximum player count will be 12, which breaks down into matches of six against six.

Call of Duty co-creator and Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella took to Twitter to reveal the news when asked by a fan, explaining this number was the one that elicited the best results from the AI.

I find it funny how people are freaking out over this. Sure an MMO styled FPS like Destiny would be cool but it's not Destiny after all.

Seriously. Zinix. Stop your trolling. There is NO WAY THAT TITAN FALL WILL BE 6 PLAYERS MAXIMUM. THAT'S LIKE PLAYING PLANETSIDE 2 12 VS 12 OR SOMETHING.

Nope is 6 v 6 but there are also AI controled soldiers and Titans on the map.

I really cannot see what people are whinging about? How many of the people whinging have Call of Duty Ghosts on their shelf? That's 6v6 isn't it? Yet despite this, it's recycled gameplay, it's old engine and dated graphics it's the best selling game on the current generation of systems with the exception of the Wii U.

 

At the end of the day, if there's 64 people on a map all with Titans and AI running around all over the place that would overkill the experience. What I am worried about is the fact that only 3 maps have been confirmed according to a user on gamespot who then linked over a source from IGN which confirms that only 3 maps have been disclosed.

 

I hope there will be more maps then this initially or will it be a case of being forced into purchasing DLC to get more maps etc. If it is, I won't be buying this game.

6 vs 6 is ridiculous! I play COD, Planetside 2 and BF4. 8 vs 8 works for COD, but anything less than that? I just don't know. I think it's because Titanfall has been hyped so much, people were expecting these massive battles with titans, and tons of people (ala Battlefield 2142 or something) and then  "6 vs 6"... WHAAAAAT?! Maybe the way they do it is incredibly epic, but I just don't know. Colour me nervous.

If you have tons of people on the map at once, you become less significant. That's why competitive Counterstrike is 5v5. It's like instead of you being a cell in a body, you're an entire arm. Each person becomes vital.

Ouch. First we saw PC gameplay Microsoft claimed was Xbone, then we heard it's 99% going to be 720p and now 6v6.

 

Didn't COD on Vita have 6v6 or something?

guys. this really isn't a huge deal. There are AI characters on the map to shoot at as well, both Titans and infantry. Just because this isn't as huge a map as Battlefield doesn't mean it's not next gen. by that logic Mario 3D World should have 10 player co-op and Windwaker HD should have doubled the map size and side quests just because it could. There is a balance to this game and I'm sure the guys at Respawn know what they are doing.

 

Plus this also means with smaller matches it would be completely possible to have a full game with just your friends. It doesn't always need more to be better.

If it's a great game, it's a great game! BUT, it's NOT going to be a battlefield type of feel game, and that's just a little bit disappointing. Hoping it will still be awesome though!

as long as the game is fun it should be good.
