So Smash Bros is coming on Wii U and 3DS, but I feel like we need to discuss the difference on both versions. I mean this is the 1st time the same Smash Bros game is on 2 consoles, and on a handheld. Nintendo also said there is connectivity with both versions.

Discuss?

Okay I have some curiosity about that new SSB game because SSB has never been on a hand held counsle before so I dont quite know how that would work out because I honesly think that it may be alittle annoying switching form counsle to counsle but what do you think?

They are going to be different version to one another. It's more like SSB4 and SSB5, rather than SSB43D and SSB4U.

The 3DS is simply not going to be able emulate what the Wii U will offer. It doesn't make sense to release an inferior 3DS version alongside a superior Wii U version, unless the 3DS version is optimised for the 3DS, and the Wii U version for the Wii U, in which case they wouldn't be the same game.

Of course, speculating about games that aren't in development yet is foolish.

Well, I can't really say anything for sure. However, I'm going to pick the Wii U. We have to consider that the Wii U will be able to have way more content than the 3DS. I'm really not sure what to expect from this game though.

1. It's Super.
2. 1000% chance of being a duplicate topic.
3. It's not like it wouldn't work on the 3DS. The 3DS has comfortably taken in various fighter games (Super Street Fighter IV, Dead or Alive, Tekken, Blazblue, Punch Time Explosion). Fighter games, unlike a lot of other titles, only need one control stick.

I will say, that SSB will be changed. Both the 3DS and the Wii U have a touch screen. $10 says that this will be forced into the gameplay.

Definitely the Wii U. SSBB ,I feel it is more of at home kind of game. Not only that, but the controls on the Wii U version will most likely be more comfortable, and The graphics would be superior, and the online would most likely be a lot better. The 3DS version would be like the regular version and the Wii U version would be like the deluxe version. Either way, they would both still be very good games, just the Wii U version would be better.

I guess one would be for at home and one would be for on the go.

I think we'll need the touchscreen for the finisher's/final smash attack. (Like the Mario basketball game)

Knowing Nintendo, they'll even include something using the microphone on the 3DS version -.-

Lol, the title mislead me you said console instead of system. I thought you ment Wii and Wii U but you ment the Wii U and the handheld 3DS.

The Wii U version is going to be better, no doubt. That is like comparing Super mario bros with Ds to Wii.

I think that both games will be great. The only thing I'm worried about are system exclusive characters. I can understand the 3DS having a smaller character roster then the Wii U version, but I think they should try to have the same number of characters for both versions, even if it means cutting a few extra things from the handheld version. This is especially true if this whole character customization feature Sakurai is thinking about using the Wii U/3DS connectivity actually happens. Wouldn't make sense to have one character on the 3DS version that's not on the Wii U version.

If you got Mario Kart 7 you can note that a lot of characters where taken away. I don't understand why, they could have simply used a cartridge with more memory, I expect the SSB 4 3DS to have the same characters with VERY downgraded graphics, because Wii U will be HD so we will now note more difference on it.
