Who still uses those? Especially with the 3DS and Wii U around, it's just a waste of money for Nintendo to keep it running.

I doubt its going to happen.
Sony has started closing down there severs for the ps3 and they had why more online then the wii and ds.

I'm not too bothered about it, especially with MK8 around the corner, Mario Kart Wii was only game I went online for. That and Brawl.

Tell ya what. Once WiiU takes over the 8th gen in it's rightful place. People stop Nintendo hatin and WiiU sells 100 Million I will sign it. Reasonable I say.

Well it isn't all up to Nintendo, Gamespy is shutting down all their services which means DS and Wii online. So there isn't much that can be done about it.

Does wimii work with Wii Mode on the Wii U?
That being said, I would be happy paying a reasonable yearly cost if Nintendo chose to offer a paid support plan for the old systems. Or maybe nintendo could release an update that unlocks the system so it can connect to any third party server.
