Capcom does have some great IP, but i fear they would be too expensive for a company that has been losing money 3 years straight.

If possible, a question would arise: would Capcom`s talent stay within the company or go somewhere else?

99% of it already gone.

Why do you think suddenly, capcom can only make crap, but platinum appears and starts making 'capcom games'?

At this point, its pretty much only salvaging ip's, and the monster hunter team.

Move your ass Nintendo before Microsoft wave the cash and store Capcom in the basement alongside Rare never to be heard from again.

Pretty sure Japan has laws that prevent foreign companies from purchasing Japanese companies.

No, Capcom is open to public trading, and their shareholding douchers (the samne douchers forcing capcom to constantly smash their face in a brick wall until its a bloddy unreconizable pulp via throwing every resource they have at crappy, unwanted mobile garbage) just denied the Japanese companies plan for a buyback defense strategy. THey can now be publically bought out.

The money they've been losing is too low to effect Nintendo, and buying shares of Capcom wouldn't put a dint in there bank, so it's all good financial wise.

It depends on how much is Capcom worth. Nintendo already paid something like 1billion $ in a buy back share program.

99% of it already gone.

Why do you think suddenly, capcom can only make crap, but platinum appears and starts making 'capcom games'?

So, in terms of talent, there´s barely any. Not worth a purchase, from that point of view, then.

Yes, in terms of IPs, Capcom is more than worth a purchase.

Also, buying more than half of Capcom is more than enough to warrant all the IPs. Kinda like they did with Rare, where they just owned the majority of the company, if i`m not mistaken.

I think acquiring some capcom Ip's would be great,

resi evil can do well with nintendo, revelations and the gamecube and wii versions of 4 have shown that.

Obviously monster hunter works well with nintendo

Ace attorney has always been ninty right?

Megaman fits in well with ninty and people have been asking for ninty to buy the ip anyway haha

Oh also devil may cry, the wii u has already shown it's suited for action games so I can only see a new dmc game working well on wii u

I'm sure there's other examples of capcom games being suited to nintendo platforms and the only troubling one I could think of would be street fighter but if the fans were passionate enough they'd buy a wii u for sfv I think.

I think the acquisition would be great for ninty it would lead to more games on wii u and less droughts too.

Saying that I'd be shocked if they did it, they'll pass up capcom just like atlus imo.

The only problem  would have with Nintendo acquiring Capcom is that it could mean the death of Street Fighter, which would be a shame (even if personally i'm not a particularly big fan of the game).

But then again Nintendo has been surprising everyone with some of the stuff they're publishing recently, so it could just mean Street Fighter would become a Nintendo exclusive (which would be sweet, how I would love to taste SRK's tears if that happened).

But yeah, I think pretty much ever other IP Capcom has would be a great addition to nintendo libraries.

True the GC and Wii ones were pretty good. True again with MH, though thats also good as a sony thing, but better for Nintendo :P, Ace Attorny is Capcom, its been on mobile.  True we need some more action games, I don't care much about them, but it would help.

Their open to a buyout, Nintendo is open to buying studios/third party games. This is too perfect!

Now I'm not really a fan of Camcom games, but Mega Man, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, ect. This would be a smart move for Nintendo. And some games could be non-exclusive and Sony and Microsoft could pay Nintendo for Capcom to make games for them.

if ninty buys capcom, then most in development games will become wiiU exclusive, Dont see nintendo letting capcom make anything for competitors regardless of who far it is into completion.

If nintendo buys partial stock(>50%) then Nintendo will simply always get capcom multiplats and some exclusives as well as have strong say in development, but Nintendo is more likely to buy specific IP's and studios from capcom then take a partial ownership.

Capcom does have some great IP, but i fear they would be too expensive for a company that has been losing money 3 years straight.

If possible, a question would arise: would Capcom`s talent stay within the company or go somewhere else?

chances are nintendo will start hiring, and completely restructuring. Id expect a make what you want attitude toward the lead devs, and ninty putting people to makes some other capcom games.

also Nintendo taking a mass expand approach to HD development may be interesting.

In other words the devs are probably wishing for this almost as hard as the fans.

Dude you just know. You just KNOW, that if Nintendo got capcoms old IP's, ALL the talent would come back to them.

Kamiya would make a new viewtiful joe, Okami, and devil may cry (Dante meets bayonetta)
Shinji Mikami would make a new resident evil
Inafune would make a new megaman, megaman x, megaman legends 3.

And they would by, and far, be the best entries in the series.

I need to find a way to shift into the dimension where this actually happens.

True a ip sale seems good like Megaman, Ace Attorney, and Monster Hunter. Though how would they have real problems otherwise? I never had a big issue with online..

While I would think Nintendo would be best, what about Namco Bandai or Tecmo Koei?

Tecmo with the way they handled DOA5? maybe. I would like to see a western publisher like Valve or Ubisoft.

The fans at the moment want Sony to be at the helm not Nintendo. Me? I want a purely software company to buy 51% of the stock. Sega would honesty be the best for everyone and won't knock Capcom back. Also if Nintendo make the pro controller mandatory, I could see a decent street fighter 5 coming.

Most software companies wouldn't do capcom very much justice, Nintendo would need to do mass restructuring, and get new dev studios for capcom games, Anything less would likely not be worth it and that costs them a lot more than simply buying capcom.

Sony would be more willing to buy just the name but i don't see them restructuring, especially with financial issues.

microsoft would do the same as what happened with rare.

Yeah actually, I could see sega doing Capcom games justice.

definitely not as much as if Ninty bought them, but still not bad. Their IPs do line up better than Ninty's though.

That's one website and since 7 million people in a 8 months brought a console for sheer power let alone games kinda makes me right. I'm not say Nintendo or Microsoft are bad choices but at the moment the hype for the Capcom buyout around the world would be probably Sony or a Software company first, then Nintendo or Microsoft second.

Not as much as you'd think. Ms tried to buy Nintendo around the time of the first xbox development.

Mr yamauchis response to that was hilariously classic. And kind of gross.

Look it up.

Authenticity of the quote may be dubious. But it's pure comedy.
