Anyway, a person that shall not be named said that the avatar affects the way you act, and I want other people's opinions on this topic, please give me your opinions, and any information to support it, don't name anyone, just say someone (and area, or forums they are from) says (what they say) understand? Good, now discuss.

An avatar is usually how you express yourself. Instead of chaninging the way you act, it changes the way how people see you. There is no doubt about this.
It is possible for an avatar to change how you act. Sometimes when I look at my avatar, because I read the VN and know about the character, it can influence my thoughts if I allow it to. It depends on hw weak you are mentally.

It doesn't stop me from being a dude.

(Although not right now, 90% of the time I have a female anime character for my avatar)

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

I don't think it really changes the way I act at all. Avatars do affect how I see other members though and it could affect how others see me.

Actually, I think it does. Back when I was using "The Death Glare" as my avatar, I seemed to post more serious comments. Now that I'm using Link's "WTF" face, it feels like I post sillier comments more often.

I have never seen Aaron change how he acts tbh O_o

I don't think so, at least I don't think I changed my conduct when I got this avatar.

I don't think it does.

It didn't matter if I used the "The Kid" avatar from Bastion, Nagisa from Clannad, or my other Roxas avatar. Each time I'm still the same.

To be honest, avatars only make a difference for the first few times you read a person's post. i.e. how you judge 'em.

But, if you have read a lot of the person's post, they can have the avatar from your most hated franchise, they'll still be normal people to you.

Tl;dr It doesn't matter

Yes, and I've only acted like a ninja a few times, I don't notice a slight change in my general behavior on the forums.

Eh, I don't think it changes people.

When you change your avatar it reflects maybe the thoughts and feelings of the user. If I changed my avatar from Doctor Ozaki to some rainbow or something it could mean I am just in a good mood or want change. I have my avatar because I like the character from a anime, so I changed it to that. So basically it reflects the thoughts of the user, and it changes the thoughts of other users that are reading his/her posts.
